Due to certain issues with the current membership and vision of the Holy Knights, Highest has decided to conduct a soft reset of the group. This means all existing members with the exception of the leader will be removed and have to go through the selection criteria to be a part of the organization.
The new criteria/requirements are as follows:
- "Although the Holy Knights are individuals distinguished by their accomplishments, those that demonstrate unstable behavior or have a criminal record will not be granted permission into the Holy Knights. In this case, they will be kept under investigation due to the possibility of their rebellion creating significant problems for the Magic Council. This rule was created following the defection of Michael and Lucifer."
- "Immortals are not allowed to be a part of the Holy Knights due to the circumstances behind their immortality often being derived from a criminal act, such as the Black Wizard Zeref. In addition, an inability to clarify the history of the entrant is a further addition to the amended rule of criminal records."
- "All Holy Knights are characterized by their exceptional mastery in a single skill, combative or otherwise, that defines their contribution to the Rune Knights and therefore gives them the privilege to perform missions of a greater scale."
- "Squires are individuals whom have been chosen by the Holy Knights as the eventual successor to their role. Although they should ideally have some distinguishing trait for them to be selected, it is not as rigorous as the selection of a Holy Knight. Like a Holy Knight, a Squire must be free of a criminal record. All Holy Knights can only have one Squire. The loss of a Squire means that there will be no successor to said Holy Knight."
