<p>Howdy there everyone. It's been a while since we've done these. It's not because we've forgotten about 'em or anything. It's mostly been a combination of the admins being relatively busy with their own lives and figuring out themes to fit for the specific month. <strike>There is also the fact we secretly dread this time of the month.</strike> However, there is no need to fear for Arukana is here to help with alleviate this situation! From this point onward, I will be in charge of the Feature Article of the Month. As such, you no longer have to direct your concerns towards any of the other admins from this point on.
</p><p>Moving onwards, it is time to focus on the this month’s featured character and magic. Thankfully, the themes for May were graciously provided for me by Ash and Liza in order to help ease me into the position. Anyways, the theme for characters will be those of the LGBT+ community as May is often seen as the month in which events resolving around this subject. With the amount of users on the wiki, I'm positive there will be a variety of characters who are LGBT+ and look forward to looking over them.
</p><p>Regarding Magic, the theme will be the season of spring as May is known for being the final month in which the season takes place. Spring is known for representing the growth, renewal and new life of plants and animals being born. As such, examples which would fit the theme of Spring from a general standpoint would be Healing Magic, Wood-Make, and Weather Magic. Of course, this could also refer to a Magic Item if it was to fit within the theme as well. Nonetheless, this is what the theme(s) for this month will be!
</p><p>The nomination period will end on May 26th at midnight. Afterwards, the voting period will commence and will last until May 31st at 11:00 pm.

<p>Please enlighten me as to why we need two threads for voting when we could do all of this in one go and get it over with? I mean, the idea that we need a page for nominations and another for voting is quite..... redundant. This isn't politics where everyone is a disappointment in one way or another and shit doesn't get done. Not to mention we rarely do this since it only comes up when someone reminds an admin.

Like, sure, it may be more streamlined to do nominations and voting in one, and that might actually become a thing the next time this happens, but both of y'all are being pretty unreasonable about it in my opinion. It isn't hard to follow instructions, even if they're not as concise as they could be.

<p>Damon, I mean the entire thing as a whole. From what I can remember, the last time we did it, the time limit was a month with both the nomination and voting. It gave people time to choose who they wanted, plus it fits into everyone's schedules; the end results were announced by the end period and the chosen articles are given the green tags of accomplishments and presented on the front page, the whole nine. So yeah, that's what I mean.

</p><p>Well, it's Article of the Month, of course it lasts a month. But you have to remember the ones responsible sometimes may be busy? I know it can irking, but it's what it is.
</p><p>7 days for nominating and voting this time, so it should be fine. If anything, maybe next time it gets decreased. It's not about questioning things, it's about giving suggestions.
