The Ecounter[]
Idosole walked out of her guild, a smile and a wave towards it despite no one being in. It was pretty late now, the moon far in the sky. She decided to go for a stroll around town before turning in for the night, walking through the streets. Even with the moon up, the streets were full, townies drinking at the bar and a few tourists ducking into restaurants. Sometimes she forgot this place was an island rather than a city that lead to more land. Only the sea parted after the streets.
After grabbing a small packet of chips and munching on them she came across an interesting man. He wore a blue coat but something about his looks was off. Unlike the tourists he didn't seem to be enjoying the food, instead, he drank out of a bottle that she had never seen before. Idosole walked up to him, a neutral face to greet him.
"Can I help you, sir? You look a bit... lost," she asked.
The man simply shook his head and chucked the bottle onto the ground.
"No. It's just that, there's nothing good to drink and now I'm a little bored."
He pulled up his sleeves and breathed in, opening his mouth as some sort of black matter was beginning to stream into his mouth. The energies around the two began to feel a little lighter as the man continued and would only return to normal once the man had finished.
"...Enough about me though. Who are you exactly?" He politely requested whilst reaching behind his back to reach for a bottle tucked into his belt.
Idosole sighed. She picked up the person's rubbish before putting it in the bin, just a few centimetres to the right of him. She made a rather big scene about it, pointing to the bin and the bottle before putting it in. She shrugged as if it didn't harm her and was easy. After dusting her hand off by her skirt. She sighed once more before speaking.
"Idosole Swift, the Guild Master of the guild here. What about you?" she ignored the litter for a second though her eye twitched a little. She really hated people who threw rubbish on the ground. The island was pretty and it was going to stay that way.
The opened the bottle and brought it to his face, "Gai. Guild Master of Stellara whatever." he answered as he looked at Idosole with a grim face.
He kept his eyes directly staring at Idosole's as he continued to swig his drink right in front of her, proceeding to throw it on the ground and kick it past Idosole.
Idosole watched the bottle with spite. He looked back up at the so-called Guild Master.
"One, pick up the rubbish... please!" she gave a sweet and sickly smile to him and as quickly as it came up it disappeared. "Two, you're a Guild Master of what now? I haven't heard of your guild before," her eyes met his again, they were cold.
Gai walked up to Idosole and looked right at her, sticking his tongue out.
"Try again. Pick up the rubbish," Idosole stares at Guy, hate in her eyes.
He shook his head, once again sticking his tongue out. "Make me." He said before moving into Idosole and nudging her out of his way.
That was the last straw for Idosole. She sighed and put her hands in a fist. "Fine, I will!" and with that she went to punch him square in the face, rage boiling in her blood.
Gai threw his arm in the way, just in time to block Idosole's incoming fist. Gai smiled as everything was going well as if he was trying to piss her off in the first place. The force of the punch against the tense arm forced the arm to move back a bit to him. Gai pushed Idosole's arm back to her and smiled.
"Isn't it past your bedtime kiddo?"
Gai reached above his head and removed the white rag he usually wears. In one motion, Gai flicked the rag into Idosole's face whilst using his leg to attempt and trip her up; placing his foot hooked on Idosole's leg and pulling it back.
Idosole couldn't help but feel insulted. Kiddo, I am bloody older than him.. that bastar- Idosole was blinded by a rag in her face suddenly and she couldn't help but get angrier but before she could do anything Gai's kicked her leg. She shoved the rag away as she fell, her face screwed in a face.
"I'll have you know I am bloody older than you!" she said as she stopped her fall with her hand. It grased it a little but allowed her to get up a lot faster than she would've if she allowed falling on her butt. "You wanna fight, then let's fight real then..." she said as black smoke escaped her mouth. Her fingertips tingled.
Dark gas-like forms escaped her hands and mouth, her small innocent features looking more creepier thanks to the smoke. She didn't take any actions but instead shot some smoke into the air, exploding into a firework. A symbol for a friend. "Hope you don't die too fast, been a while since I can go all out, Mr Guild Master!"
"Heh. Same goes for you kid."
Gai leaps backwards to put distance between him and Idosole, watching as she got further away from the Guild Master until landing on the ground safely. Clapping his hands and placing it on the ground, a strong force of energy suddenly shook the ground around him with cracks even tearing up some of the floors. Looking at Idosole with a smirk, his body became coated with a black substance that took over his entire being. Gai looked like a silhouette of his self and stood firmly on the ground.
"What guild are you the guild master of?" Gai requested, his voice distorted.
Black bodies began climbing out of Gai's, the bodies slowly falling to the ground and taking position behind Gai. One by one, each one respectively took their place until there was a group of eight ready to move by his command.
Gai clicked his tongue and the group of clones moved in front of him and took aim, bringing out and pointing finger guns directed at Idosole.
"Fire!"
At the instant the clones fired off a black bullet each of Spirit Eater that headed right for Idosole, whirring through the air.
"Reminiscence, unlike your guild it's not supposed to be known by plebs," she said with a smile. She took out a small vial, filled with a grey substance and the bottle smashed as soon as she held it. Her Dark Smoke swirled and covered Idosole in seconds, creating a steel shield.
"I am also like nothing you have ever fought," she shouted, enjoying the air of a fight. She didn't like the fact it was in the middle of town but what could she do. Staying under her shield she listened to the bullets ping on her shield. She touched the ground, the Dark Smoke instantly taking control of the stone and she willed the smoke to stay underground. As it seeps in she planned on attacking the Guild Master from below. Until then, she would wait and allow her magic to consume the ground.
Gai threw his hand forward pointing at Idosole's location, commanding the clones to sprint forward along with himself. Charging in unison, the clones and their creator dropped down into the darkness out of Idosole's sight. Two clones emerged from the darkness and appeared on both of Idosole's sides, their fists balled up and striking down onto Idosole's body.
A scoff escaped her lips. Clones. They were always annoying. She backed off, the only escape was backing off anyways, and shot a black ball of magic towards them through her staff.
"Hiro, get your arse here!" she screamed as she tried to defend herself with her staff. That stupid familiar is nowhere to be seen. I hope I get hit pretty bad to fuck him up She shook her head as she placed her hand on the ground again, guess she didn't have as much time as she hoped for.
The ground shook a little before stone spikes erupted from them but they weren't aimed at anyone, instead, they were around Idosole.
The clones stepped out from the darkness along with Gai, standing not too far from the spikes, all surrounding Idosole as to not allow her to move from her spike barriers. The loss of two clones didn't seem to annoy Gai in the slightest and a distorted laugh could be heard from one of the black bodies.
"So where's your parents then little girl? Its way too late for you to be out on the streets at a time like this."
Gai held an open hand in the air and the clones entered a readied position, proceeding to point their arms upward as soon as Gai clenched his fist. Their arms turned into long blades that emitted black energy, growing to lengths of a makeshift halberd. The clones charged in and pointed their blades towards Idosole, aiming to impale the Guild Master from all sorts of directions, each blade tilted in its own way so that every part of her body would have been hit within the space.
"My mother is 195 and is resting. For me, I am 45. You're the kid here!" His tone was already on her nerves. At this rate, she would snap.
Idosole didn't enjoy the many blades coming at her. "Are you trying to kill me? Guess that's why I haven't heard of Stella," Idosole started to say, gripping another bottle out of her belt. She sighed a little when the bottle smashed in her fingers. She had spent hours on these and now they were being wasted on this scum.
The liquid fell on the ground and unlike the other potions, Dark Smoke hadn't touched this one. After a few drops, the ground below cracked. "You must be a Dark Guild to try and kill a legal Guild Master, I knew you would come back!" and with that, the ground melted away and Idosole fell into a pit.
She had to act fast, this pit wasn't that safe either. Her Dark Smoke touched the ground and the ground turned into that of water, she surfed on the dirt and moved away from the chaos above. Once she was about 10 metres away from the chaos, she came back to the surface. Dusting herself down.
A chuckle passed through Gai's lips, "Dark Guild? Sorry hun but Stellara is nothing of the sort."
He looked and faced Idosole with his clones who positioned themselves to his sides. Their arms remaining blades that were still intended to get Idosole. Gai was still trying to figure out what kind of wizard this little one was and was trying different methods of figuring out what she was. "Earth Magic? The way she's manipulated the ground so far in this battle seems to support that theory but one cannot always be sure." he thought to himself, trying to piece together the puzzle of this mage.
Gai noticed the bottle that he had chucked on the ground before and picked it up, throwing it up and catching with his hand repeatedly before letting it drop to the ground. The bottle shattered into several glass pieces all over the floor and Gai proceeded to stomp, even more, creating more pieces.
The clones kept their attention on Idosole and waited to make their move once the Guild Master did her own. They would attack as soon as Idosole was to attack Gai in any way, with two aiding their master and the others would retaliate.
"Oi! You owe me a vial. They aren't that cheap nowadays I'll have you know!" Idosole shouted before chuckling a little. This mage was interesting and fun to fight but she still had no clue what he even was.
The clones were starting to annoy Idosole, they kept forcing her to move out of the way. If I keep this up I'll just waste my time defending... where is that stupid demon! She looked around to just find a few people watching the fight. She shook her head.
She held onto her staff tightly looking at the clones and Gai. Seems they were waiting for her move. She pondered for a moment for pointing her staff at one of the clones, her Dark Smoke entering the staff.
"Good thing your not a Dark Guild. Means I can't kill you," she said with a smile blossoming on her face. Her staff glowed at the tip of the stone and a bolt, sheer black in colour, escaped and aimed towards one of the clones.
The clone's body dispersed into millions of particles upon contact with the bolt, however, knew that its death no liability for Gai's plan.
"Heh. Kill me? You wouldn't have been able to kill me in the first place." Gai laughed once again in a distorted voice.
People around them started to talk to each other, murmuring things about 'monster' and 'dark guild', although they knew who Idosole and Reminiscence were on the island, not many people knew about Gai and his guild. Gai clicked his fingers and the clones began to look at the people of the crowd.
"Good thing I'm not known on this island. Means I can do what I want." He said with a menacing tone, a smile could be felt underneath all that black.
The clones then charged towards the people just as soon as Gai stepped into the darkness and out of the visible picture. The clones with the blades shoved people out of the way and caused a fearful commotion, citizens retreating away as the clones swung their blades in a way that didn't hurt anyone but seem intimidating. It was as if they were trying to scare them off rather than kill them.
Idosole watched in horror as this went on in front of her. Rage boiled inside her body. No one went to hurt anyone on this island. She had vowed to protect every single person who entered the island. She looked at Gai with disgust.
"Leave them alone! What kind of Guild Master are you? Y-Your a monster!" Idosole shouted before gripping her staff tightly. She couldn't help hear the screams. Her thoughts raced through the current day and the past. I will protect them!
With this silent plead in her head, Dark Smoke escaped her mouth and fingertips and hit the ground. After a second, the ground shook and spikes erupted from the ground again. This time it was away from her but aimed at the clones. Most of the cluster, however, was aimed at Gai.
"I will rip that smile off your face you smug ass bitch!"
Most of the clones the spikes aimed for were quickly impaled by the attack, however, three of them managed to escape. The spikes that were aimed at them had instead got the people that they were chasing off, some of the citizens thrown damaged by Idosole's move. The clone's hand quickly shifted back to normal human like ones, as the rushed to aid the people.
The spikes aimed for Gai struck to nowhere the man stepping out from the darkness just in front of the spikes to see that it erupted from his last location. He watched as the clones helped escorted any wounded out of the area before turning his sight back on Idosole.
"Well. That didn't work out well for you now did it?" He scolded.
After the area was evacuated in time the three clones that remained quickly ran back to Gai's side. Gai shook his head in disappointment, as did the clones guarding him.
"Bring her down for me, I probably need to be back to the guild hall by the time the sun rises."
The clones then took a position in front of Gai, forming a line side by side awaiting a command. A click of Gai's tongue sent them leaning forward, their mouths looked to be open and black energy was being emitted from within them. In unison, black beams of energy shot towards Idosole, their power tore through the air and through the black of night, making it particularly hard to see at a first glance.
Well shit, was all that Idosole could think as she stared at the clones. It was like perfect timing, however, for the cat to appear down by her side. "Oh and where the fuck have you been?" she said as she stared at him before shaking her head.
Dark Smoke, once again, escaped her fingers and touched the cat this time. The cat, who sat down and started to groom itself like none of this really mattered to it, just stared at the clones with a glare. It seemed to sigh as it stood up, stretched before a large fireball hurled towards Gai and his clones.
Not leaving it as just that, Idosole did two other shots with her staff. These were aimed more at the clones than Gai himself, wanting to deal with his double gangers and windle the numbers back to a 2v2 at least.
The black beams, the fireball and the black bolts collided into one another, both cancelling each other as a massive shockwave rippled through the area. The ground shook violently, causing Gai and his clones to stumble back to regain their balance.
"What kind of ca- never mind." Gai shook his head from surprise to see a ball of flames created by such a small creature.
With only three troops remaining, he knew that it would need a lot more if he wanted to finish the battle on time. Just like before more hands reached out from behind Gai's back and pulled out yet another fresh clone to fight for him. One by one the clones joined the forces and quickly rebuilt his troop, now with even more soldiers to obey Gai's command. The troops took their place in front of Gai, now totalling twice the amount that he had started the battle with, all ready to attack when given the order.
Gai held his arm up above his head and the clones separated into two rows forward and back, the front row kneeling down on one knee as to give the back row a proper view to aim. All the clones held out finger guns directed at Idosole and her cat's position and as soon as Gai dropped his hand, the clones fired and rained shots of Spirit Eater. It looked as though they weren't going to stop either after the next volley of shots were fired at Idosole right after the first. They were to continue firing shots until further notice upon Gai's instruction.
"Idosole, what the hell have you got yourself dragged in now?" the cat asked as he stared at the clones. They just kept coming it seemed and Idosole couldn't help but sigh at the sight. How many clones are we going to go through? Idosole thought to herself. The cat, Hiro, shook at his master.
Grabbing another vial out of her belt she dropped another metal shield in front, listening to the onslaught of bullets and looking at Hiro. "You got a plan?" she asked and the cat just shook his head, anger in his face.
"You went into this battle without a plan?" Idosole did not answer her familiar. Yes, yes she did. She knew nothing else to do but hide behind this shield.
"Reminiscence was it?" Gai thought to himself continuing to watch the rain of black pellets shoot towards the metal shield. Tapping on the shoulders of the two clones in front of him, Gai issued a command to them whilst their brothers kept Idosole distracted; "Find the guild hall of this Reminiscence guild and report back to me when you find it. It should be pretty obvious if you know what you are looking for".
The clones simply nodded and stepped forward into the darkness as they disappeared out of sight, Gai understanding that this might take some time but he was sure that he could try to hold Idosole off for the time being. She wasn't budging to the attacks that he threw at her so clearing the area of any citizen life was the best route in case either he or she was to do the drastic.
Idosole had a plan. A terrible yet great plan, like always. She smiled grabbing a small vial, it's liquid clear. Hiro just shook his head as she drank this vial and Idosole disappeared. She turned invisible. Hiro sat down, grooming himself for a moment.
"Oi, that doesn't mean you slack off, you better get them busy," her voice echoed past the bullets, she dived out before diving back under the shield. Man, those bullets are fast. She took a deep breath and started running as far away from the shield as possible, a small smile on her face. I didn't die, jackpot!
Hiro let out a sigh and looked at the shield. It wouldn't' go away and from here he could see the other shield placed about ten feet from where he was now. How many shields will appear today he wondered before rolling his eyes. There wasn't much he could do but peak out of the shield and taunt the guards, attacking just didn't seem li it would work out. He would have to go on the defensive so Idosole wouldn't get hurt.
So, the cat stuck it's tongue out at the guards and Gai.
A Guild Meeting[]
Bullets continued to approach their position without a second to breathe, they were being placed at bay for as long as Gai needed the time. He didn't want them moving too much in case they might interfere with his plan, despite it only being a few minutes old. He tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for the two clones to come back from their job locating the Reminiscence Guild Hall, an attempt to end the battle before dawn.
"Methods like this really make me question how I'm still a Guild Master. But who really would believe a kid like her, saying that I came and attacked the guild of this island?" He thought out loud to himself still standing behind the safety of the firing line.
Idosole wasn't the best at holding back her anger, that thing was certain so as she went towards Gai she couldn't help but turn around and sigh. "I may look like a kid but I am respected for many reasons by my kind," Idosole muttered somewhere around the right of Gai. You could almost hear the facepalm of Hiro as she said this.
Hiro waited it out under the shield, who knows what is going to happen now that Idosole had outed herself. At least she was still invisible but Hiro didn't hold his breath. Gai could most likely feel her aura.
"Wow, I can't see you. What kind of Earth Magic allows one to accomplish this?" Gai inquired hesitantly, stepping backwards to catch a better view of the area where the voice came from.
He was suddenly tapped on the back by two of his clones who had come back to report to Gai about the whereabouts of Reminiscence. Surprising him for a second, Gai had jumped and felt ready to attack, only stopping himself when he realised who it was. Putting the thumbs up as a way of asking, the clones nodded back and beckoned Gai to follow them. He too nodded in agreement and prompted the firing line to also join, halting the firing upon the poor Hiro.
"No matter, let's just see how well your Guild Hall holds up after we're done here." He announced before disappearing into thin air with the rest of his clones, using the darkness to travel discretely.
"Get back here, don't you dare touch that hall!" Idosole screamed, running towards her guild. She could only think of the ruins the guild was in only a few decades ago. She wouldn't allow someone like him take control of her guild.
Hiro, who was just kind of abandoned at this point, stared out of his shield to see literally no one. Unfortunately, he heard his masters pleads and decided that it was better to just go towards the Guild Hall. Hiro ran as fast as his cat body would allow him, which really wasn't that fast since he didn't try. The longer away from the battlefield, the least chance of him dying.
Idosole would only be greeted with the sight of Gai in his human form once again, admiring the front of the Guild Hall. Slowly turning his attention to Idosole, a menacing smile was revealed before he laughed out of excitement for the big finale he was planning.
"Oh, is this yours?" He yelled out his question due to the distance they had between each other. Drifting his hand to the Guild Hall's direction, black energy began building up within it in the shape of an arrow that flared with power. It wouldn't be long till Gai threw this shape of energy forward and into the bridge that made the way to the Guild Hall, shattering it into splinters and severely cutting off the visible form of passage. "Oops."
Using the time for Idosole to process what had just happened, Gai pointed two finger guns aimed directly at Idosole. Just as the clones before did, Gai fired off shots of Spirit Eater at Idosole to keep the distance between them. The last thing he needed was for her to get close enough for him to actually do something to her guild.
Idosole managed to dodge the oncoming bullets quite easily, they were aiming at air, unable to see the form that is Idosole, so they weren't exact. It still scared her, however, how close they were to her. It was quite obvious that the guild master knew the area she was in. No need to be discreet about this then, she thought to herself before taking a deep breath.
A black aura surrounded Idosole as her invisibility dispelled. If the defence didn't work, brute force was the next answer. Charging towards Gai, she fired another black sphere through her staff before aiming her left fist for a punch. It too was consumed by the black aura, adding to its strength.
Hiro was less interested in this fight and decided to fire a ball of flame towards Gai. He may be able to dodge one attack but he doubted he would be able to dodge two.
Too many things were happening for Gai to evade all together but were enough for him to keep track of. Quickly ducking and rolling to evade the incoming black sphere produced by her staff, Gai was suddenly met with Idosole with her first coming at his chest as he brought himself up. He welcomed the fist as a last second plan and embraced for impact, feeling his body rush with shock as Idodole's hand collided with Gai.
The punch winded him as he struggled to quickly breathe before moving. This was definitely not a kid he was fighting. The surge of energy triggered Gai to move to the side as he brought his hands to hold onto Idosole's into place; swerving his body around and switching directions with Idosoles so that she acts as his shield from the fireball.
The ball of flame came soaring towards Gai's position and landed right where the Spirit Slayer was last.
Idosole smiled as she managed to get a hit on Gai, proud for a few moments. Then things got confusing. Idosole was suddenly staring at Gai but at a different angle, the guild hall no longer behind her. She stared for a few moments, letting it happen until she heard her familiar swore under his breath. Staring towards him was a worse idea as the flames hit Idosole but rather than doing any damage, it passed by her. It seemed to fizzle around her, creating a whirl of heat to surge through her body but no damage came to her. It did, however, startle Idosole as she stepped back a few steps. She sighed with relief before looking back at Gai, smiling.
"Lucky me, right?" she said before attempting to bonk him on the head with her staff.
Hiro counted his whiskers. He was lucky Idosole was his master and attacking his master wasn't allowed. Part of his contract. This didn't stop his pain as he winced, great pain hitting his muscles and bones. He looked at Gai, he may not have realised it but Hiro was out of the picture for a while now, this pain would be going on for at least five minutes.
Gai smiled back at her, he was impressed that he still wasn't able to figure out what kind of magic she was using. The bonk on his head didn't faze him as much, he quickly shook his head before rubbing it and laughing softly. Whisking his attention to the guild hall they were fighting in front, he was looking for another way to push her even further other than verbal methods. He approached the guild hall's front and smiled, turning his head to Idosole in a sinister manner. Placing his hand on the closed doors of the building, a burst of energy rushed through his arm and into hands, directed into the structure before him. The front entrance of the building would only find itself destroyed as there was no sign of an entrance at all, instead, a massive hole framed by ruined walls revealed the inside to be covered in blown materials that scattered the ground.
"Not so lucky for the building though." He laughed.
Proceeding to walk into the building, Gai was only inviting Idosole to come join him. The building began to creak in pain as the front of its entry-level was blown down.
Idosole watched in pain. She bit her lip and shook her head. She wouldn't cry; not for him. She looked at her building, it was four-stories large so the fact it was still attached was something she barely believed. Anymore damage to it and it would surely fall. She looked at Gai but knew inside that he wouldn't move for her so she looked at her guild from the side.
"Way to make it hard to get in!" Idosole shouted over as she stared at the gap between her guild and the land. It wasn't massive, the bridge is rather small, but it didn't stop her displease. Taking a few steps back, Idosole runs and jumps towards the entrance - or what is left of it - landing gently on the floor. Inside she could hear the creaks fo the wood and she shook her head again.
"Inviting yourself into myself guild without my permission, how rude. Is this how your guild works?" Idosole questioned levelling her staff at Gai.
"Eh, can't really do that much when our guild hall doesn't stand for more than a few weeks," Gai replied jokingly.
Gai proceeded to sink into the darkness of his own shadow again, however the shadow began to openly move around the room and through spots that no human could do so easily. He moved out of Idosole's view as he made sure that he would be in the shadows of the room where he can strike from, but decided otherwise. Gai appeared behind Idosole and tapped on her shoulder, with one hand buzzing with energy ready to strike at her once she turned around.
"How come? Too busy attacking other guilds to defend it?" Idosole sneered as she watched Gai slip into the shadows. AT this point she was pretty convinced that he was using Shadow Magic of some sort, she had seen it used by a few witches to stay hidden but never really battled with it. What was worse was how unpredictable Gai was to her, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get a read on the guy. No pun intended. She squinted her eye at where she thought Gai was before feeling the tap on her shoulder. She expected to be instantly attacked and as such dropped and rolled forward before turning back towards Gai.
Hiro, who was still outside, had been struggling with this pain and at this point, the magic contract had stopped attacking him. This, however, didn't help him much as he laid down on the grass outside, breathing deeply. His muscles wouldn't move for a while, pain shaking him as he tried to simply move an inch. Idosole's Dark Smoke, that was inside him and therefore powering his magic, stopped. Idosole knew he was out of action and blasted another quick bolt of Dark Smoke through her staff at Gai.
Gai threw his hand forward and directly at the bolt, timing it so that the Manus energy would, in turn, cancel the incoming energy with it. Rushing forward towards Idosole as the two energies collided with each other, the shock echoed through the room which gave Gai some time to move into Idosole without quick reaction from her. His hand was covered by black energy and formed into a large black blade just like the clones had done earlier in the encounter. Gai wasn't planning anything safe at the moment and the only intent he had was to stab Idosole in the arm if anything.
Idosole had realised how quick this battle had changed in pace. No longer was the Guild Master just playing around with Idosole, now he was charging at her with no regrets. Idosole stood her ground as the two energies collied but were a shock to see Gai came out from the smoke. Knowing little else to do she used her staff as a shield from the attack, the metal on the staff creaking a little from the power behind the sword. Idosole wobbled a little, not used to sword-on-staff clash, before tightening her grip on the staff. She couldn't do anything but send a stray black bolt to the right of her in a hope of a distraction, but it would also cost the guild a part of its wall.
His sight of her was firm and he didn't want to be distracted by something as little as a bolt of energy. Bringing his blade arm upwards, the blade grew in length as it became long enough to strike at both Idosole and her staff at the same time. Gai brought the blade back down with sheer force in hopes that the blade might be enough to bring Idosole to the ground as well as damage her staff.
To Idosole, her staff was life. She did craft it at a young age. She decided to take the damage from the sword and as such moved her staff out of the way of the blade. The blade hit her arm and she winced in pain as she took land on the wooden floor of the guild. At the very least now she had elements to use. Her Dark Smoke escaped her fingers and the wood turned into spikes in hopes to batter Gai away from her. As soon as he did she would try to get into a better position than lying on the ground.
Gai didn't notice the spikes at first and felt pain piercing into his body as the spikes got him. This, unfortunately, made Gai a little more irritated, causing him to press the blade onto Idosole with more force to keep her pinned.
"Stay down will you, I want to end this battle as early as I can." He threatened with a harsh tone.
Bringing his other hand over, black energy consumed that hand as well and so too turned it into a blade. Pushing it through the spikes that had pierced him, one by one the spikes were cut during the time he pinned Idosole onto the ground with the first blade.
"Surrender now please." He kindly asked as he brought the second blade hand over his head and struck down onto Idosole.
Idosole was not enjoying this pain and nor was Hiro who had just been recovering. Outside the guild hall, meows and screeches of pain could be heard of her familiar, speaking her own pain as she stared at him.
"I won't surrender," Idosole said through clenched teeth, his magic was completely negating her healing and she was hating every second of it. It was wasting a lot of Dark Smoke as they escaped out of the wounds. Pressing her hand further on the wooden floor she exerted more Dark Smoke and created a blade. The blade erupting up but it wouldn't do much, it may be sharp and give Gai splinters but she knew with this wood she would never make durable and lasting damage on Gai. At this rate, she was in trouble.
His concentration on her was not fading in the slightest as he could push through the pain and concentrate on his work a hand. The wooden sword that Idosole had made struck Gai and only made him hinder but nonetheless remain stay in his dominant position. His blades remained on Idosole as he fell to one knee, he wasn't going to let her escape.
"Just surrender. It's better if you do it now so that nothing else happens," he warned again, there was a sense of worry in his voice when he spoke.
He brought one of the blades up again, his other blade remaining to keep Idosole down, and proceeded to strike downwards once again with his raised weapon. He was hoping that the pain he was inflicting would be enough to keep her down, but there was something in his gut, telling him it wouldn't be enough.
"I will never surrender the safety of my guild depends on me at this stage," Idosole hissed, this pain was getting annoying at this stage and there was nothing she could do. She was running out of ideas and what she could do with this wood, why didn't she make it concrete again? Knowing nothing else what to do she simply stayed still, allowing her healing to do its thing.
He noticed that the Black Smoke was emerging from the wounds he was inflicting on her and that she was somehow benefiting from this strange substance. He didn't want to be too confident but knew that he wouldn't know if he didn't try. Looking down at Idosole's leg, Gai moved the blade closest to it and pulled back, striking forward at the leg to see if his prediction was true or not and to also help him keep her down.
Idosole grit her teeth before screaming. "Do you mind?" she hissed as she gripped down on the wooden floor. Holy shit this hurts! her healing instantly went to fix the wound in her leg but now with the wound in her arm and her leg Idosole started to cry. "You cunt, just go ahead and kill me, some legal guild master you are!" and with that, she threw a punch at Gai's face.
The punch knocked Gai's face to the side, he breathed heavily through his nostrils and turned his head back to Idosole.
"So I count this as a surrender?" He asked, removing the blades from her body.
Nightmare Fueled[]
Idosole snapped up in a cold sweat her covers lying on the floor. The sun shined through her window, nearly blinding her and as she stared she felt perplexed. She touched her arm slowly, still half asleep and her dream hazy at parts but for one thing for sure, that dude was not a legal guild master. She laughed, quiet and to herself really, releasing she nearly died. She looked to the right to find the culprit, a red wine bottle rolling on the floor. She rubbed her head before shaking it. I have finally lost it... she thought before getting dressed. No matter what if she has a headache or a nightmare that just happened she was still a Guild Master. She still had duties to do. Including, not dying. "From now on, never drinking before I sleep..."
Barking could be heard from behind her door, footsteps approaching the door getting louder the closer it got. The handle began twisting from side to side before being opened to reveal Moxie and Valour in the hallway, Valour holding a tray carrying Idosole's breakfast; a assortment of bacon, beans, sausages, mushrooms, fried egg and sundried tomatoes neatly settled into a white dinner plate still steaming. Moxie held in his mouth a seperate tray that carried the silver cutlery, as well as a tall glass of juice.
