Abyssa (アビス Abisu) is a powerful Etherious demon from one of the Books of Zeref, and is one of the Thirteen Demon Lords. Like the rest of the Lords, she is well over 400 years of age, and wields a Curse: hers being called Blut Mantel, allowing her to shapeshift part of or her entire body into anything: humans, animals, other creatures and even certain weapons such as blades. Her sheer overwhelming speed has led to her gaining the epithet of "The Last Shadow", being the last thing her enemies ever see - barely, and she also possesses the self-chosen alias "The Mimicking Mistress" in accordance . Like the rest of her fellow Demon Lords, she was once part of the guild known as Tartarus.
Appearance
Abyssa's favoured human form is that of an average height woman with a large bust, long platinum hair and icy blue eyes with pale skin. She also has an athletic build. Thanks to her Curse's regenerative sub-ability, her skin is virtually flawless: no scars, no bruises and no blemishes. Usually, she wears a powerful shining silver armour with a split cloak/cape hanging down the back, accompanied by a metal skirt and thigh-high boots, as well as a pair of simple gloves that reach her elbow.
As for her Etherious form, however, most of her body changes massively: she gains a large pair of retractable spiked wings, with a pair of arm-like appendages protruding below these wings. Her outfit becomes very revealing, exposing most of her chest and the front of her legs, with a large set of spike columns running down her back like a cape almost. From her middle calf region and below, her legs become narrower, until they are like needles at the feet.

Curse and Magic
Blut Mantel: This Curse allows the user to shape-shift into anything like other people, animals and inanimate objects. Their body also gains elastic properties and can make their bodies as hard as iron (though they lose elastic at the time). They can either do full shape shifting or partial shape shifting (I.E turning just their arms into different forms like blades or animal faces like snakes). They can also regenerate lost body parts too though the more damage the longer it takes.
Sword Magic: A Magic which, as the name itself suggests, is focused around the use of swords, with those weapons acting as mediums for the user to perform particular attacks. Many of such moves are shown capable of going past the physical reach of the blade employed in their use, threatening foes at short-to-mid range. Some Sword Magic techniques seem to involve the use of elements commonly found employed by elemental forms of Magic, such as Fire Magic; in addition, Telekinesis is shown to be frequently employed alongside it, in order for the user (the most recurring one of such technique being Erza Scarlet) to maneuvre several swords at the same time. A number of different blades can be employed for such Magic, with the most recurring ones being longswords and katana. In some cases, certain moves might even involve the change of the sword's properties, such as its length. This is Abyssa's second most preferred form of attack, after Mimic.
- Garuda Flame: A technique that creates fire from a blade and attacks the opponent. It has the same properties as Yasha's Empty Flash, and it is powerful enough to destroy Erza Scarlet's Flame Empress Armor.
- Meteor Blade: By pounding their sword towards the ground, a huge straight-linear explosion is created, covering an immensely large area.
- Dark Sword: Narukami: The user creates a dark wave from their sword, which cuts through everything in its path, even something as sturdy as Gajeel Redfox's Iron Dragon's Scales.
- Demon Blade Crimson Sakura: The user pours all of their Magic Power into their sword for one attack. This attack discards all of the user's defense for one, massive, full-powered attack.
Darkness Magic: Darkness Magic is a type of Magic which allows users to manipulate and control destructive Dark Magic. This Magic has a physical form used for destroying objects, blocking enemies' attacks and picking up objects. The colour of the Magic varies depending on the caster (red, purple, black, green, etc.). Users typically shape their attacks into the form of ghostly apparitions, which they can use in various ways.[5] The malefic nature of this Magic tends to complement the sinister nature of its users, and it is known to make people physically ill and cold in nature. Like other elemental Magic, this Magic includes body transformation. Users such as Simon control the surrounding darkness and shadow, engulfing others and the immediate vicinity into its pitch-black darkness, themselves included.
- Soul Extinction: The spell initiates as Abyssa focuses her magical power into the space between her hands, the energy taking the form of a spherical vortex. When released, it is a large blast of dark energy that is capable of blocking out the sky, and it is powerful enough to defeat even some of the most powerful opponents.
- Evil Explosion: With Abyssa's version, she holds her hands close together, cupping the air: creating a small orb of dark energy between them. This orb fires a thin beam at the target, which upon impact generates a colossal explosion that wipes out anyone and anything within range. At Abyssa's peak, this spell was powerful enough to almost completely destroy an entire expanse of mountains.
- Dark Capriccio: A beam of darkness is fired from the user's staff (or in some cases, the Mage's hands), meant to be used as a drilling offensive attack that can pierce through defenses. With greater skill, however, this spell can be cast one-handed, allowing more than one beam to be fired, which can then be employed as a whip of sorts, granting the user greater versatility.
- Genesis Zero: The user first charges green darkness energy on their fingers and summons thousands of black phantoms to strike at their foes to the point of them being engulfed completely by their sheer numbers alone. This technique has been claimed to be capable of erasing a person's soul and their very existence.
Mimic: This Magic allows its user to mimic another Mage's Magic and utilize it as if it is their own. This form of Magic appears to be quite peculiar, with even Fairy Tail's founder Mavis Vermilion, a spirit with many decades of experience behind her, remarking on its rarity. The specific mechanics behind Mimic are as of yet unknown; it's unconfirmed what the user has to do in order to copy other's Magic or how many types of Magic they can have at their disposal at a given time. Abyssa uses this in conjunction with her Blut Mantel Curse to fool her opponents into thinking she is one of their allies, when the time calls for it. This magic is also Abyssa's favourite form of attack.
Requip: This Magic allows the users to store items in a pocket dimension so they can easily summon it at any time, even during battle, which gives them a high level of flexibility in combat. However, there is a limit to how much the pocket dimension can store. Requip can be used for simple or for combat-related purposes. Some users may just choose to use it to change their clothing. More skilled users are able to Requip different weapons in battle, and it is even possible to Requip armors in the midst of battle, although the only Mages to ever do this are Erza Scarlet and Coordinator. Abyssa uses this to summon her various weapons and one or two armours, including Longswords, double-bladed battle axes, shields, and so on.
Demon's Eye: This Magic is based on the use of one of the caster's eyes, which is usually covered by an eye patch. This Magic has to be "awakened" in order to activate its as-of-yet unknown effects. When Hades used it, it made his hair, beard, mustache and eyebrows jut out, and a vast amount of Magic Power was released. Hades claimed that it was used to show opponents the depths of Magic, which is a realm that surpasses their imagination. It is also stated to be a way for the caster to reach The One Magic world with Zeref's awakening. This Magic can be deactivated by simply closing the eye using the Magic. However, Abyssa is a unique case: she has a TWO Demon's Eyes, which she can activate and deactivate with but a thought. When both are activated, the scale of her magic power wildly exceeds that of any of the other Demon Lords, and the ground around her begins to crumble and crack.
Stone Eyes: It is a unique variation of Eye Magic which allows the user to turn anyone who looks directly into the their eyes into stone. Over time, those who have been turned to stone will turn to dust. However, this Magic will not work to its full capacity if the victim has a prosthetic eye, such as Erza Scarlet, because the effect of the Magic is halved, allowing the target to break free from the stone. The Magic also doesn't work on people who wear glasses. Abyssa uses this Magic to punish those who she deems as disobedient or pests, among others, as a type of punishment.
Telekinesis: A type of Magic that allows its user to move and take control of things with their mind and use them for whatever purpose they wish, such as for battle. Abyssa is a particularly advanced user, as she is able to destroy the surrounding area with a gesture, and when a subordinate angers her, she obliterates them with the flick of a finger.
