Aether Forge (偽性・天空の造形魔法(エーテル・フォージ), Ēteru Fōji lit. Pseudo Aether-Molding Magic): Aether Forge is a quasi-Molding Magic, Lost Magic, and a member of the Chaos Arts which enables the caster to shape and mold the ether that they generate through the Chaos Arts into the form of various structures, allowing them to serve countless purposes in the heat of battle.

Description

As the opening paragraph had stated, Aether Forge is an existence similar to that of a Molding Magic; which enables the user to create and manipulate their element into various shapes and sizes – in the case of Aether Forge, it grants the caster the ability to shape the ether which is made manifest constantly through the Chaos Arts into anything that they deem suitable at the time. In order to harness Aether Forge, the caster surges the magical energy within their frame outwards briefly, putting ambient particles of eternano suspended within the atmosphere under their thrall while siphoning the essence of their magical power into the environment in order to have that's classified as the properties of their energy hewn from their soul interact with the masses of magical particles in the vicinity as well as their own magical energy, and from here, through mental commands alone, the caster focuses, installing within these energies their thoughts of what lies beyond the earth, space, and everything detailed within that region, enabling them to shift their own magical energies and other particles into the primary energy of Chaos Arts, Sacred Aether. From here, going by the basics of Molding Magic, the caster is capable of shaping the aether into almost anything by understanding the inherent structure of the properties about to be reproduced; including the flow and balance of atoms within, before using the metals in order to perfectly replicate the structure of the identified material, using their magical energy to cause the manifested item in a more malleable state, completely unlike its regular version, as to allow it to be easily reshaped into a new form, reforming the material in the blink of an eye through hand gestures.

The hand gestures that one takes is a conduit which focuses and dictates the flow of magical energy, tapping into the magical energies that already exist within the earth and matter; representing the cyclical flow of eternano and turns that power to manipulable ends; allowing the user to form the metals faster—however, some users are shown to be capable of performing Aether Forge without any hand gestures. It should be noted that depending on the caster's ingenuity and mastery of Aether Forge, all sorts of items are capable of being manifested in the time span ranging from a few seconds to the blink of an eye. The structures of ether that the caster manifests all carry the natural overwhelming power of the Chaos Arts, even when the user isn't touching them, making them a cut above most other forms of structure-creation magic; indeed, the only limitations are the user's own imagination, and it requires no prior movements which are all in-born with Molding Magic, instead, the user can form countless items simply by shaping their magical power and thinking about it, not even using the proper modification technique known as Shape Transformation in order to bring their thoughts into reality; for this reason, it can be said that Aether Forge is far more effective than bog-standard Molding Magic or powers similar to it.

But to continue onwards and get down to explaining what the magic does, as the name would indicate, the main usage of Aether Forge is to shape the mystical energies unknown to mankind generated through the Chaos Arts into various structures that the caster is capable of utilizing in any way that they deem to be suitable, whether it be for offensive purposes such as weaponry and columns of stabilized energy that erupt from the ground, or supplementary purposes such as manifesting chairs, tables, and many more. An existence which is similar to that of the distantly-related Molding Magics which effectively serve a nigh-identical function, the Aether Forge is largely unrestrained in what it can and cannot shape from the mystical energies of the Chaos Arts, functioning and generating all sorts of objects and the like in accordance to the caster's mental commands without any real limit. While this sounds all well and good, if one hasn't noticed by now, one may be thinking "hey, isn't this too similar to general Molding Magic?" That's a good question, because from here on out, the differences between Aether Forge and bog-standard Molding Magics become more apparent. As mentioned in the description for the Chaos Arts, due to the diversity of the Chaos Arts in regards to what they can and cannot do with aether, very few magics of the fighting style are known to overlap, meaning that each Chaos Art embodies a power that is unique to itself. In this case, Aether Forge itself focuses solely upon offensive measures in the heat of combat, with the caster able to generate and shape aether into the form of something which could be used solely for them to gain an advantage over their opponent.

Since Aether Forge is geared around the concept of dealing incredible amounts of damage while protecting the caster from that same damage, any and all objects constructed through the magic are vastly more powerful in all fortes than most other constructs brought into the mortal plane through similar Molding Magics, with a single Aether Forge: Star Saber displaying the ability to completely bisect a building while also stirring up impossibly sharp winds through the Sword Pressure that rend everything in the arc of the sword's swing asunder – and this is the most basic spell of the magic, mind. However, it should be taken into consideration that originally Aether Forge was two magics - Emanation Magic, which is the magic through which æther, the fifth essence of the universe, flows, causing it to take upon a more airy form, and Generation Magic, with which the æther was given a more consistent form, that of physical energy. Noting how the Chaos Arts should be capable of doing these things naturally, both magics were considered redundant and were scrapped before being reforged as a singular concept - that of Aether Forge, which focuses more on the idea of generating aether in both forms and wielding it in a similar manner to that of Molding Magic, while the more supplementary aspects of both magics were relegated to other forms of the Chaos Arts. Additionally, in comparison to its distant relatives, the Molding Magics, Aether Forge could be considered a "Static" form of Molding Magic as the caster is only capable of generating weaponry and structures that are prominently harnessed for offensive measures, with no "Dynamic" equivalent in sight – the reason for this is because Constellar Manifestation already covers the formation and summoning of Familiar-esque beings from aether, and as such, Aether Forge possessing a Dynamic version would be redundant. Even so, the Aether Forge commonly serves the purpose of the main combat measure for a magician whom wields the might of the Chaos Arts.

Supplementary Abilities

  • Coeus (天空構造可鍛性(コエウス), Koeusu lit. Aether Structure Malleability): Coeus is a secondary ability of Aether Forge – it is the ability to change the composition and properties of a preexisting object that has been manifested through the power of Aether Forge; indeed, Coeus is more akin to a command of sorts as the caster often speaks the word while invoking its power. When activating Coeus, the caster focuses their energies intently while fixing their eyesight on a structure that has been manifested through Aether Forge already – from here, the magician wielding the power of Chaos Arts exerts a barely-noticeable pulse of aether which resonates outwards, making contact with the preformed structure near-instantly (Coeus can also be activated if the caster just touches the Aether Forge object) – in accordance to the user's imagination, the atoms that compose the object that was contacted by the user's energy are directed and modified – every aspect of their existence is changed through the magician's imaginative processes, such as manipulating their density so that they can become as hard as diamond to as brittle as glass so that once they scatter near the enemy, the user can direct the stray ether particles scattering off of their spells to trap them and induce a death by a thousand blasts. Not only this, by modifying the length of the Aether Forge creations, the caster is able to force their weapons to expand and contract to never-thought-of-before lengths, with a Aether Forge: Star Saber sword extending upwards to pierce the heavens in the blink of an eye. Through Coeus, the caster is able to affect the ground beneath them by jabbing aether whether it has already been shaped or not into the soil below, inducing the Chaos Arts upon the surface and everything that entails in order to convert everything into aether in the environment around their figure, reducing the soil to nothing, at which point, the user can manipulate and shape these newly-formed aether in any manner that they please- effectively, because of this, the user permanently possesses freedom of movement no matter what while enabling countless combination options in the heat of combat.

  • Aether Forge: Acheron Saber (偽性・天空の造形魔法・天空外装天来刃(エーテル・フォージ・アケロン・セイバー), Ēteru Fōji: Akeron Seibā lit. Pseudo Aether-Molding Magic: Aether-Equipped Divine Blade): Aether Forge: Acheron Saber is the most basic application of the Aether Forge magic and more often than not the first spell of Aether Forge a wielder of the magic learns – it involves the caster generating a sword completely composed of aether of various shapes and sizes, but it can also serve the purpose of coating their preexisting weaponry in the fifth element. When performing Aether Forge: Acheron Saber, the caster surges the magical energy within their frame outwards briefly, putting ambient particles of eternano suspended within the atmosphere under their thrall while siphoning the essence of their magical power into the environment in order to have that's classified as the properties of their energy hewn from their soul interact with the masses of magical particles in the vicinity as well as their own magical energy, and from here, through mental commands alone, the caster focuses, installing within these energies their thoughts of what lies beyond the earth, space, and everything detailed within that region, enabling them to shift their own magical energies and other particles into the primary energy of Chaos Arts, Sacred Aether. From here, going by the basics of Molding Magic, the caster focuses their mind, and through mental commands and their own imagination, the user harnesses Shape Transformation in order to rapidly expand and contract the aether gathered into the form of a sword which is utilized for the purpose of close combat. Originally in the form of a nondescript sword that is at least more than half the height of the user in length, the Aether Forge: Acheron Saber is capable of being altered into any form that the caster deems suitable, changing the properties and composition of the manifested weapon through thoughts alone- while normally, it's in its "Shortsword" (近離刃 (ショートソード), Shōtosōdo lit. Short-Ranged Sword) form which makes it a jack of all trades, the weapon is capable of changing it to a "Longsword" (長離刃 (ロングソード), Rongusōdo lit. Long-Ranged Sword) and back in order to shorten or lengthen the blade to get the jump on the opponent; not only this, a Aether Forge: Acheron Saber can be altered further to change shape to suit the situation, as by chanting "Katana" (日本刀 (カタナ), Katana lit. Rising Sun Sword), the caster can make an Aether Forge: Acheron Saber more suitable to slicing, and "Rapier" (鋭刀 (レイピア), Reipia lit. Sharp Sword) makes it more suited for piercing attacks by taking upon the forms of those weaponry. In any form that the Aether Forge: Acheron Saber takes upon, it is said to possess such an unnatural sharpness that those whom are unworthy of its presence are cut just by gazing upon its brilliance - while this may or may not be a simple joke, the fact that the Aether Forge: Acheron Saber was able to cleave through diamond and even magic blasts effortlessly with the cold steel of the sword being capable of absorbing an energy blast before returning it to sender via another swing of the blade certainly isn't anything to scoff at. The sword is highly sharp and durable, capable of slicing through magical barriers of all compositions, and its slashes are capable of trailing large amounts of aether in its wake, which can damage the opponent; but more than that, since the blade is composed of Sacred Aether, each and every slash that the caster makes with Aether Forge: Acheron Saber creates voids within the atmosphere, busting everything that they come into contact with into naught but shreds while acting in a similar manner to that of a vacuum. Aether Forge: Acheron Saber is so deadly precisely because it's capable of being utilized in countless ways- it's almost mesmerizing that somebody can get so much mileage out of a simple sword of celestial elements. The weapon itself can endure even the strongest of attacks, making it quite effective in blocking and deflecting incoming attacks; and it can withstand getting crushed by force. The armament is strong and sharp enough to cut clean through pure metal weapons as well; the power of Aether Forge: Acheron Saber is capable of inflicting a deep cut into the opponent's body, even if they had erected a magical defense beforehand, severely damaging them- it can defeat an Etherious compared to a Guild Ace in power in a single strike - upon contact with the demonic, the celestial element known as aether overwhelms them, reducing them to naught but atoms. Finally, the Aether Forge: Acheron Saber is capable of being applied to the caster's regular bladed weapon, visually represented by Sacred Aether overlaying the blade of the sword - however, it is said that only a God-Mower class sword such as the Archenemy is capable of sustaining having the celestial element imbued within the steel of the weapon for extended periods of time - normal swords are unable to maintain structure when coated with Sacred Aether.

    Rhea's Protection.

Aether Forge: Rhea's Protection (偽性・天空の造形魔法・天空の時空関(エーテル・フォージ・レアズ・プロテクション), Ēteru Fōji: Reazu Purotekushon lit. Pseudo Aether-Molding Magic: Time-Space Barriers of Aether): Aether Forge: Rhea's Protection is the name of a powerful Aether Forge spell which involves the generation of barriers composed entirely of aether for various defensive purposes. As the opening paragraph had stated, Rhea's Protection is an existence similar to that of a Barrier Magic in that it involves the manifestation of the caster's aether in the form of a barrier in order to defend themselves against the attacks of their enemies. When activating Rhea's Protection, the caster surges their magical energies within their frame outwards briefly, putting ambient particles of eternano suspended within the atmosphere under their thrall while siphoning the essence of their magical power into the environment in order to have that's classified as the properties of their energy hewn from their soul interact with the masses of magical particles in the vicinity as well as their own magical energy, and from here, through mental commands alone, the caster focuses, installing within these energies their thoughts of what lies beyond the earth, space, and everything detailed within that region, enabling them to shift their own magical energies and other particles into the primary energy of Chaos Arts, Sacred Aether – from here, the caster focuses the aether, swiping it around themselves in a circling motion; through concentration alone, the caster uses mental commands in order to shape the Sacred Aether and give these wondrous energies material consistency, being molded through the caster's thoughts into the form of a four-layered barrier of aether of various shapes and sizes; it can be said that the barriers projected by Rhea's Protection is an existence similar to that of Defenser; however, Rhea's Protection has more stopping power and is capable of being modified to suit almost any situation in regards to both its shape and properties. Modifying all of its traits through thoughts, the barriers which are conjured through the powers of Rhea's Protection are able to shift with no real need to infuse any more supernatural energies into its composition to alter its shape and sizes – this places Rhea's Protection above more traditional forms of defense such as the standard Defenser spell and Barrier Magic, plus even some Lost Magics which are centered around the creation of barriers, as the caster isn't required to spend excess amounts of energy to modify its existence. Taking upon any form that the caster desires, Rhea's Protection changes into rectangular planes, cylinders, globes, domes, cones, and many more- it should be noted that the complexity of the shape Rhea's Protection takes upon is limited by the caster's ability to mentally visualize a particular form and keep it in sharp mental focus. Thanks to the effects of the aether, Aether Forge: Rhea's Protection acts as an "instant assault radius" of sorts, splitting the very air itself with a void that rips anything that does manage to cross its parameters it to shreds while forcibly repelling living organisms that attempt to cross.
    • Rhea Noire

Second Extension: Rhea's Absorption and Rejection.

Extension: Rhea's Absorption and Rejection (追加攻撃・天空の時空関・吸収気と反射陣(エクステンション・レアズ・アブソープション・アンド・リジェクション), Ekusutenshon: Reasu Abusōpushon ando Rijekushon lit. Additional Attack: Time-Space Barriers of Aether: Energy Absorbing and Refraction Formation): Extension: Rhea's Absorption and Rejection is, well, an extension of the standard Aether Forge: Rhea's Protection spell – it grants the Rhea's Protection barrier the ability to absorb the energies of incoming projectiles through nullifying the kinetic energy transferred through melee and projectile based attacks the moment it comes into contact with the defense - after this, the caster releases the kinetic and magical forces absorbed by the barrier in the form of a powerful shockwave. When performing Extension: Rhea's Absorption and Rejection, the caster focuses their magical energies into a preexisting Rhea's Protection barrier no matter its current form, and through mental commands, instills the trait of "absorption" into its very existence, causing the projected defense to turn a slight shade of violet as the energies that compose it begin to swirl around at high speed, resulting in the Rhea's Projection barrier to resemble that of a whirling buzzsaw. The moment that an opposing attack, whether it be close range –both physical and armed- or long-ranged through a projectile of any and every kind, comes into contact with the modified barrier, the whirling buzzsaw known as Rhea's Absorption and Reflection makes good on its name by absorbing the shock of an impact and reduce the effect it would have upon the caster to nothingness, visually represented by the Rhea's Absorption and Rejection creating a gap in matter through a void as per the natural effects of aether, capturing the kinetic and magical forces sent towards the caster and reducing the forces, no matter the power, down to zero, before storing that transferred power as preparation for the next attack. After this, the caster focuses their thoughts upon the barrier which has accumulated a required amount of energies within its composition –this quantity varies depending on the intensity of the attack that the caster wishes to bring upon their opponent, meaning that it can either be absorbed and released in a single strike or withstand several strikes before the spell is unleashed. But in any case, once the final stage of Rhea's Absorption and Rejection is ready, the caster, with a single command often accompanied by a hand gesture, causing the barrier to shatter into innumerable shards which are launched in a chosen direction with incredible speed and force, effectively functioning as a makeshift catapult that scatters in a powerful blast akin to that of a shotgun that travels outwards in the blink of an eye, piercing everything in their path with incredible ease. Interestingly, Extension: Rhea's Absorption and Rejection can be applied to an opponent, by forming the barrier around the opponent's body and pulling out their magic reserves, causing extensive damage. Extension: Rhea's Absorption and Rejection is limited to a certain amount of space and thus cannot capture spells of a certain amount of magical power; however this does not apply to a magician's body as the spell can continuously pull magic from a magician.

Pseudo Aether-Molding Magic High Art: Godly Powered Sword of the Soul's Reflected Image): Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade is the first of the Divine Aether Forge line of the magic – a series of spells which involve the caster drawing out more Sacred Aether while synchronizing their very emotions with the Chaos Arts to produce more power; Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade is effectively a weapon attuned to the caster's very soul and thus possesses a special ability and shape exclusive to the wielder. In any case, when activating Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade, the caster surges the magical energy within their frame outwards briefly, putting ambient particles of eternano suspended within the atmosphere under their thrall while siphoning the essence of their magical power into the environment in order to have that's classified as the properties of their energy hewn from their soul interact with the masses of magical particles in the vicinity as well as their own magical energy, and from here, through mental commands alone, the caster focuses, installing within these energies their thoughts of what lies beyond the earth, space, and everything detailed within that region, enabling them to shift their own magical energies and other particles into the primary energy of Chaos Arts, Sacred Aether. From here, going by the basics of Molding Magic, the caster is capable of shaping the aether into almost anything by understanding the inherent structure of the properties about to be reproduced; including the flow and balance of atoms within, before using the aether in order to perfectly replicate the structure of the identified material, using their magical energy to cause the manifested item in a more malleable state, completely unlike its regular version, as to allow it to be easily reshaped into a new form, reforming the material in the blink of an eye through hand gestures – while this sequence is in process, the caster synchronizes their emotions to the Sacred Aether and thus their Magic Origin, resulting in a stronger kind of aether that is incapable of being banished and permanently remains in the physical realm even after being cast.

In regards to Divine Aether Forge, the only limitations are the caster's own imagination, and it requires no prior movements which are all in-born with Molding Magic and regular Aether Forge, instead, the magician can form the Divine Aether Forge spells simply by shaping their magical power as well as their aether and thinking about it, not even using the proper modification technique known as Shape Transformation in order to bring their thoughts into reality; for this reason, it can be said that forming the Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade is far more effective than bog-standard Molding Magic or powers similar to it- the shape, of course, differs depending on the user's preferences. While those are the mechanics to manifest Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade, in order to actually be capable of performing a feat in the first place, the caster must meet certain criteria- for example, they require sufficient amounts of magical energy dwelling within their Magic Origin to generate the energies to meld with the ambient particles in the atmosphere in the first place, a clear idea of what weapon they wish to form in mind, and lastly as well as most obviously, magical particles must be suspended within the vicinity to assist with the formation of the Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade. In any case, the Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade is the main and trademark weapon of an angel, and unless they wield a different type of weapon, their primary method of combat. In terms of appearances, Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade are extremely varied, ranging from projectile-based weaponry to close-range of any kind. No matter the form, Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade is capable of having its properties modified through thought alone, so they can become as hard as diamond to as brittle as glass. As each Divine Aether Forge: Soul Blade are generated through aether manipulation and the imagination of the user of the Chaos Arts, each is unique and can be said to be a reflection of the wielder's personality and soul. When combined with a user of the Chaos Arts' natural dominance over aether, they can gather energies upon their weapons in order to induce a variety of effects.
