- "Within the desert isles of Alakitasia, protected by the radiant Sun, lives Ma'at Ipetsut's Akhetaten Family. Eyes like sunshine, blessed by the gods; they are a dynasty that have persisted for millennia, with no signs of failing."

The Akhetaten Family, also referred to as the "House of Akhetaten" is a prominent sorcerer family located within Alakitasia. Descending from the legendary Hatshepsut, they are of the few families in the modern world that still trace their lineage back to the First People. As such, their influence among mage families is second to none. They are particularly famous as the imperial family of Ma'at Ipetsut: commanding the respect of both the empire, and the other noble houses.

Categorization and Layout[]
The family is divided into two distinct "sub families" that serve as the primary lines of inheritance. These lines are known as the Line of Imhotep and the Line of Narmer. Within each of these lines is a "Main Family" and several "Branch Families". Each of these families have their own head of household, who collectively make up the Akhetaten Family Council, with the Par'aah leading the entire family. Although the various lines are known to have their differences and even clash every now and again, the family as a whole generally enjoy a familial and respectful dynamic, made strong by mutual respect and understanding.
While appearances tend to vary, those descending from the Akhetaten Family are easily recognized by their eyes. Ranging from yellow, to hazel, amber, and all the way to gold: they are considered the truest symbol of lineage. Generally, the closer in color one's eye is to gold, the more direct their lineage to Hatshepsut.
Family Traits[]
By far their most distinguishable trait, the Akhetaten Family is what can be referred to as an "undiluted" line; continuously producing natural mages without fail. While the power of members vary, it is noted that even the weakest has enough magical energy to at least cast basic spells.
Sorcery Trait: Rising Sun: A unique trait, the members of the Akhetaten Family boast incredibly powerful physical energy that gives way to a powerful life-force and vitality. Beginning at conception and lasting until death, it allows them to live longer than the average human without suffering the detrimental effects of aging. This longevity stems from two sources: first as the lineage from a line of Ancient Humans, and then as direct descendants of the gods. In particular, having three full generations of light and solar deities as ancestors. As the Sun is the source of life and vitality, having this unique lineage gives way to extended lifespans. As a result, it is not uncommon for the average member to live well over a hundred years; the closer in lineage, the greater the longevity.
Likewise, this gives them greater stamina: being able to battle uninterrupted for a full ninety-six hours before showing signs of tiring. In turn, members of the Akhetaten family are also resilient: enduring punishment and severe injuries to keep pushing, and recovering from fatigue and exhaustion in short periods of time. Even with "one foot in the grave" one member was able to survive long enough to perform several master enchantments and keep them going before dying. As one outsider has noted "Just as the Sun will always rise in East, so too will this family keep on fighting."

Secret Arts[]
A distinguished line stretching back more than two thousand millennia, over the course of their time as an established family, the Akhetaten's have developed a number of different spells, many of which have been recorded and taught by the various magical institutions in the empire. However, a small select few have been held back: remaining known only to the family. Passed down orally from parent to child, they are the prized treasures of the line, which have been carefully cultivated through the centuries.
