Alakitacia (西の大陸(アラキタシア) Arakitashia) is a large monolith which is located on the western part of Earth Land, and one of the its two major landmasses. A very diverse land, the continent is supposedly controlled by the organization known as the Alvarez Empire.

Due to its Civil War and the upcoming conflict against Ishgar, the other major landmass, the continent has been in a constant chaos.

History[]

Geography[]

Alakitacia is located to the west of Ishgar, there being quite a distance between the two continents as slow boat trips take nearly 10 days. Airship trips seem to take a day or less.

The landmass, as a whole, possesses around 29,517,792 square kilometers and is often called as an "Island Continent".

Its climates are most influenced by the ocean currents...

...

Culture[]

Like the rest of the world, Alakitacia uses the normal calendar of 12 months and 365 days, as well as the way years are called. The continent as a whole has 5 time zones.

The common currency is "Eurel", which acts as a more abundant coin than its counterpart. In fact, 100 Eurels equal 1 Jewel.

Trivia[]

  • The kanji used for the continent's name (西の大陸) literally means "Continent of the West".
  • Alactasia is a term for people who lack the enzyme Lactase, responsible for the hydrolise of Lactose.
    • It references the fact that the continent lacks in production of cheese and derivates.
    • Strangely, milk hasn't been much of a problem but isn't produced in large scale either.
