Alpha and Omega (アルファとオメガ Arufa to Omega) is a powerful and difficult Lost Magic that deals with the primal positive and negative forces of the world.
Description[]
It is one of the most ancient magics whose knowledge was almost wiped out due to its immense capabilities. It is a magic that allows a user to utilize the positive and negative forces found in the universe. In order for someone to even dream of utilizing it though, they first must achieve inner balance, knowledge of their own self and understanding of the world while the other requirement is immense skill in magic energy control. While Twilight Magic for example is about the combined form of light and darkness, Alpha and Omega is about utilization of the purest and most primal form of the forces that manifest as light and darkness. By utilizing the positive energy of the world, the user is able to heal people, restore things to a perfect condition, calm people and phenomena and even boost life by making people and things stronger while by utilizing the negative energy of the world, one can bring decay and destruction to anything around them among other things.
Due to the user being in balance with said forces, they can turn a thing to something belonging to the other, effectively turning something to its opposite; fire can become water or ice, light can become darkness etc. giving themselves a variety of options while they can turn the primal forces into one of its derivatives, with the user being able for example to unleash a stream of fire and water/ice and while a user can control space and time, they can only execute a sole feat each day due to the magnitude of power this combined unison needs. Finally, by combining the two primal forces, one can create anything they desire akin to Arc of Embodiment but such creations are frail and fleeting, being erased upon their use and barely last a minute, but the simpler and more down to earth their abilities are then the longer they can remain, with simple objects and matter being able to stay permanently.
Weaknesses and Limitations[]
While the magic itself has numerous capabilities, it has some limitations. First of all, this magic cannot interfere with Life and Death outright; while a user can heal someone even from mortal wounds and animate things, they cannot bring someone back to life and while they can shave off life force and weaken someone, they cannot bring instant death like Black Arts can do. However, this balance can be interfered with by creating a link between a living and deceased human, with one's death becoming one's new life. Also, a user cannot change a human's moral compass, being unable to make them pure good or pure evil. When using the derivatives of the positive and negative forces, one is bound to use only opposite forces, with one being unable for example to use light in unison with earth because they are not direct opposites.
While the magic allows a user to use opposite forces at the same time, continuous change of a set of opposites, from fire-water to light-darkness etc. for example, tends to become increasingly draining with each set change. Finally, when directly using the positive and negative forces of the world, a process that is like and yet different than a certain magic, loss of emotional control is dangerous for one's mentality, with many being the users that had their mind and soul broken from the spiritual pressure of the opposite forces they were using, all because they lost control of their emotions.
