The Unknown Land

"Atlantis cannot be found because we don't want to be found... surface dwellers have no business here!"
— Atlanteans

Atlantis (跡乱丁酢, Atoranchōsu, アイランドのちずちょう; lit. "Island of Atlas") is a state sized city build on an unusually large island which was once a part of Vanaheimr; the great Northern sub-continent of Naraka. Also known as the Fallen City (落ちた市街, Ochimashita Shigai), Atlantis sank into the depths of the ocean due to an unknown incident; suspected to be a tsunami, about 20,000 years ago.

Unknown to man and separate from Vanaheimr; Atlantis continues to thrive about 35,000 feet deep into the ocean floor and is magically cloaked, to prevent humans from ever discovering it; that is, given that any man is able to travel that deep into the ocean. In terms of geographical area, it was the largest city; having an area of 1600 square kilometres.

Residents

Atlantis is a home to various aquatic creates but evolution has also made it home to the mighty, Atlanteans. Atlanteans are considered to be the cousin species of Homo sapien sapiens and are specially evolved to adapt to the murky, cold waters of both the ocean and the river. Their physiology has been specially developed in a manner that allows them to withstand extreme temperatures and pressure; which is necessary for survival underwater. Additionally, contrary to the popular belief, Atlanteans are actually amphibious in nature and as such, has both gills and lungs that allow them to survive both on land and water; tough their lungs aren't as developed as humans, limiting their time on land. It is apparent that most atlanteans are capable of conscious bio-luminescence and can sense bio-electricity.

Other creatures, such as sting rays, sea horses, sea clams, slugs, sea turtles and various forms of fishes are inhabitants of this mysterious place. Several forms of sharks and even dolphins inhabit Atlantis. Most of the marine animals have been domesticated or tamed by Atlanteans and either work along with them or for them. Mermans and Mermaids can also be found in Atlantis but they're generally offered low positions among the people; serving the Royalty of Atlantis by cleaning their houses, cooking for them, et cetra.
