Phobos Kydoemusca

Azazoth Nepotisma (過激個人否定的心全消費(アザトース·ネポチスマ), Azatōsu Nepochisuma; lit. "Total Consumption of the Heart by One's Extreme Negativity") is an extremely foul magic invented by Phobos Kydoemusca, said to be a personification of his very nature; according to other Spriggans who've seen it in action, it's something that shouldn't have existed in the first place and its use on a person renders Phobos as the "most evil of the Spriggans" — a comment he so happily accepts, given his origins as a being born from the depths of the abyss itself. He often stated that the magic's existence is to prove the evils of humanity, which he considers repetitive and constant — something that will always exists. It's alternatively referred to as the "Black Dye" (墨染め, Sumizome).

Noted to be a Caster Magic, it's typically known to be a Black Arts — seen as one of the most sinister of its kind, and obviously classified as a Forbidden Magic because of the long-standing effects inflicted on its victims, so much so that the emperor himself has told Phobos to never use it in the presence of himself or the other Spriggans outside of war time — the only restriction to its utilization, having an instinctive fear of the magic itself in lieu of his incredulous powers. Involving the manipulations of emotions and memories, it's also considered to be a Subspecies Magic — Phobos admitting that its foundations lie in the properties of Memory Control.

Interestingly enough, according to his partner-in-crime — the sole exception to the aforementioned condition, this magic is akin to a Curse utilized by Demons, if anything.

Trivia[]

  • The author got the idea for this magic by watching clips of Corpse Party, a supernatural horror-fantasy game that he despises for multiple reasons, some of which includes the excessive use of gore to make the game more "horrifying" and the string of deaths of minors, especially those of an elementary school level. However, although a bit perturbed by various beings involved in the games as would anyone watching to be honest, he does appreciate some of the concepts it uses, being applicable for other series. In this case, the author utilizes the concept of "Darkening" (黒化, Kokuka) in this article, seeing how it fits the overall theme of Phobos — who's magic fits the overall theme of terror and fear. Ironically, this is further enhanced by his namesake, which is a literal translation for the god of fear and terror in Greek mythology.
  • This was slightly based off of Babadi's Mind-Controlling Spell, Dark Magic, and Time Breaker mind control from the Dragon Ball series.
