The Bellona Alliance (ベローナ提携, Berōna teikei) is an alliance of several Dark Guilds and Independent Guilds, as well as the country of Vanaheimr, and the city-state of Othrys. Their ultimate goal is to unite the world under one banner, by conquering every country in it.
The Bellona Alliance was formed by Cronus Saturnalia after his defeat at the hands of Dragon Gunfire. Cronus formed this organization, needing more assistance for his plans to conquer Ishgar. This idea was based off of the Toveri Alliance, but unifies far more than eleven guilds. The Alliance includes several powerful Dark and Independent Guilds, their subordinate guilds the city-state of Othrys, and the country of Vanaheimr. Each member of the Alliance wants a different thing. Othrys wants dominion over the word through the military assistance of the other members, Vanaheimr wants to spread the influence of their nation to others, Muspelheim wants as many human test subjects as necessary to complete their research, Warlock Fist wants unrestricted access to the Lunar Eclipse World, Gladiator Beast wants a daily tribute of human flesh from the conquered territory, Diablo wants harvested corpses following the aftermath of a conflict and Grand Tundra wants to utterly destroy the Sun Village. The only representative that doesn't particularly want anything is Underworld, who only wish to increase their own power, and assist Cronus in the take over of the world. Pluto Morior believes in his ideals, and is also a long time friend of Cronus.
After the Bellona Alliance War, most affiliates were either killed or arrested. The organization was reformed later, still with Cronus as the leader, but managing to communicate through his prison cell. Pluto Morior has been acting as the primary recruiter, retrieving various Dark Mages, and other powerful individuals to serve him in Underworld, using his rank as a general in the new Othrys under Jupiter Saturnalia to give him greater autonomy.
Strength[]
The Alliance is incredibly powerful. Othrys itself was capable of fighting on par with the powerful guild Dragon Gunfire, pushing the mages of the guild to their furthest limits. In order for them to defeat the Cardinals of Othrys, several Dragon Gunfire Mages needed to team up in order to defeat them. Underworld members were also capable of easily incapacitating Erebus, and fighting on par with other powerful mages. The alliance's combined forces are capable of amassing a large army, with one division being enough to assault the entirety of Crocus, Fiore, as well as various other cities in Fiore. They managed to win their first two battles in the war against Ishgar, and managed to give them trouble in Era. Although the alliance was ultimately defeated during this battle, they have since regained most of their numbers. The alliance is believed to be on equal footing with the organization Gigantomachy in terms of power and influence.
Othrys is a city in the country of Caelum in Ishgar. Most residents have been labeled terrorists by the Magic Council, due to their leader, Cronus Saturnalia, attempting to take over the continent. As Cronus is the head of the alliance, Othrys is considered the leading organization of the alliance.
Underworld is a wandering dark guild located in Earth Land. They are a fairly new guild, being created by Pluto Morior, a former member of Paradiso. The guild's main objective is to increase their power, and the size of their Army of Corpses, in preparation for the upcoming war between Ishgar and this Alliance.
Val Royeaux is a strange organization which their true goals are not well known, the names of those who were among the first councils were unfortunately lost to time. The group's exact origins are widely speculated but nothing concrete linking where the organization was exactly created. The only thing historians are able to truly agree on is the council of light and dark, 6 members of the dark and light council formed the Val Royeaux's council of 12.
Muspelheim is an exceptionally strong dark guild, possibly on par with the individual guilds of the Baram Alliance. They comprise of few elite members, and many lower ranking members. The guild's primary focus is scientific research, but due to their methods, the guild has been labeled a dark guild. The elite mages were all raised by the guild master Surtr, and as such, they all see him as their father.
Warlock Fist is an independent guild in the Kingdom of Fiore. Their ultimate goal is to find the power hidden in the Lunar Eclipse World. Warlock Fist was added into the alliance after a fateful encounter with Cronus, leaving Constantine scared to death of his leader, and unable to disobey his orders.
Gladiator Beast is a Dark Guild located in Caelum. The members of the guild are infamous for their devouring of human flesh. After the death of Cane Hannibal, Stimonetta also wishes to gain retribution for her son's death by killing Silvius Alvar
Grand Tundra is a Dark Guild in Caelum, founded by and led by the giant Hyperborean, their goal is ultimately to destroy the Sun Village. Although some of the guild members are weak comparatively, the are experts in supportive magics that give them advantages in combat.
The purpose of this Dark Guild is to capture creatures like humans, Demons and animals and splice their DNA to make hybrids and chimeras. Also to make living weapons as well, helping the Bellona Alliance strengthen their power.
Shattered Dusk is a travelling Dark Guild that was once the resident guild of Onibus Town, but after being run out by Koma Inu, this guild has been on the look for a permanent home. They specialize in lacrima research and experiments, as well as dark magic studies.
Diablo is a Dark Guild situated in Fiore. The nefarious Dark Guild is widely known for performing rituals that require the oblation of a corpse. Since their rituals have a necessity for sacrificial entities, the members of Diablo are required to bring back as many corpses as possible from successful missions, along with their rewards. Using these bodies, they strive to forge an army of undead soldiers through the employment of a unique variation of Ritual Magic."
