Bezaliel (ベザリエル, Bezarieru) is a Holy Knight regarded as the "Shadow Knight" (影道騎士, Eidōkishi) among their ranks. Although a highly capable knight, he works behind the scenes in order to ensure the stability of the group. In this sense, he can be labeled as the group's second-in-command, while Azriel represents the ideals of the group in their entirety. In order to have a successor to his critical role, he has been carefully training Zophiel while monitoring that his moral compass does not waver with the knowledge he is being granted.
A man of great integrity and persistence, the betrayal of his former comrade Michael, and the death of a close friend has deeply scarred him. Although Bezaliel has always exhausted himself for the sake of his mission, his work has become something of an obsession.
