Catherine of Siena (キャサリンのシエナ, Kyasarin no Shiena) is a leading official within the Zentopia Church, holding the rank of Bishop. A figure with a largely enigmatic past, she appeared at a Zentopia orphanage as a small child one day. She'd quickly become enchanted with clergy work, forgoing chances at adoption to learn the vocation, soon attending courses at seminary and becoming ordained. Catherine would soon be gifted her name for her tireless championing of the faith, rising through the rankings through her oratory skill and enthusiasm. Only later would she earn the alias of Warring Bishop (征夷司教, Seī Shikyō), coming face to face with the sworn enemies of the church: demons. She's shown to have absolutely no tolerance for their existence, joining the Crusades organization before attaining the leader post. Thus, while spreading the faith, Catherine's objective is to rid the world of the "profane", clearing out every corner in its grasp.
Such an attitude would ultimately prove her undoing. Successive defeats of Round Table Knights by enemy demons, the departure of a number of RTKs, and the death of two more cost Catherine her position as the Crusades' head. Cath would be stripped of her church position as well, only holding on to Echmiadzin after the weapon refused to leave her side. Bitter and humiliated, she went east, executing any demon with the misfortune of crossing her path until she landed at the border of Pergrande. Driving her way in, she would make it all the way to the capital before she was captured by authorities and delivered to the queen's doorstep. The result? A queen's pardoning, thanks to church authorities recognizing her from her Zentopia days. On one condition of course; her joining the guard ranks, serving as one of two high commanders.
