"Eh?! Did you just insult my breasts? They are big enough! And why the fuck were you staring at them? You pervert! You wanna see? I'll take off my fucking clothes if that's what you want! I'll strip for you, you goddamned peeping Tom! Argh! All men are the same! Dealing compliments, but you are just disgusting pigs who want to get laid! I don't care about your needs! My sisters and the music is all I need!"
- "Where words leave off, music begins."
- — Heinrich Heine.
Cattleya Amadrine ( アマドリーヌ・カトレア, Amadorīnu Katorea) is a female Mage belonging to the guild called Huang's Pearl. Seeing as she is classified as an S-Class Mage, Cattleya is believed to be one of the strongest members of said guild. A member of the team Phantasmal Ensemble, she is also a part of the strongest team of the guild. Hand-picked by the master herself, Cattleya was given her weapon, the Aged Koto, as a gift for showing her worth in combat. Despite being shown the grace of holding a position in the upper echelons, however, Cattleya has repeatedly shown that she is rather immature and hot-headed in comparison to her teammates, who also happen to be her sisters. Since she finds herself to be the passionate one of their tiny troupe, she is often the one who writes the lyrics for their songs. However, due to her raspy and somewhat androgynous voice, Cattleya never performs and allows her sister Margreta to do the singing. Even though she is embarrassed by her own voice, it is apparent that she enjoys to sing. Due to the vendetta of Aya Frindra, their team is seldom present in the guild quarters, but she has appeared more and more often alongside her half-sister due to Aya's increased obsession with Chang'e.
Powers & Abilities
- Since Cattleya and Margreta are half-sisters, their surnames are different.
Behind the Scenes
Much like her sisters, Margreta and Aya, Cattleya's epithet serves as an inspiration from a traditional Shintō deity, which in her case is Konohasakuyanohime. Having an earth motif as a result, her element contrasts Aya's, but compliments Cattleya, which are lightning and water respectively. While Aya is supposed to invoke the image of a more active and more masculine deity, both Margreta and Cattleya are intended to invoke the appearance of feminine and passive deities. Since Arc of Rhythm is far more destructive than Note Magic, Aya was always intended to stick out from her sisters. Much unlike Konohasakuyanohime and in contrast to the rest of her sisters, she plays a koto, which Konohasakuyanohime is totally unrelated to.
