Charles Xava is the Head of the infamous House of Xava and a legendary mage. Like the others in his family, he is an independent mage and takes requests straight from clients. However, in recent years, he rarely ever takes on jobs as they are usually not worth his time. Charles was once a member of the Magic Council, serving alongside the Chairman preceding Guran Doma. However, he left the Council about 8 years ago as a result of too much opposition standing between him and clinching the seat of Chairman. As the leader of arguably the most shady noble family in Fiore, he is seen as an individual with an aura of darkness around him. Furthermore, he stands as the major political rival of Supreme Commander Raimo Vista.
His power and skills are surpassed by very few, and he is known to strike fear into the hearts of his opponents. Charles is widely feared as the Dragon of the Night (どらごん おうふ す ないと Doragon Oufu Su Naito). In the past, he had a few monumental clashes with a young Raimo Vista and Oden Tenshi. Neyo Vista sees him as a dangerous element due to the power of the Xava family and their willingness to dance around the fine line that is right and wrong.
