The Cosmic Road (宇宙道 Uchūmichi) is a method of international travel that makes its debut in Fairy Tail: Dusk.
Overview[]
One of the pinnacles of Magitek, the Cosmic Road is an international travel method created through the efforts of Alucard, based on blueprints received from Giselle Mercury a century or so prior.
Through the use of Magitek, the Cosmic Road creates several access points in each of the countries across Earthland, and through the use of magic, generates a winding road of 'solid magic' that encompasses the globe. This road, referred to as the Cosmic Road, is made of solidified magical energy emitted from the Magitek access points, high above the planet.
Granted an individual has their passport, they can be transported onto Cosmic Road from any access port in one of Earthland's many countries. Upon being transported, they are greeted by the sight of the very planet itself, as the road is high enough to reach into outer space. Protected by a powerful layer of magic energy, the patrons are provided with breathable air as they make their journey.
The road functions much like an automated sidewalk, whisking the user to their destination at high speeds. Due to the convenience of the Cosmic Road, it has replaced many methods of transportation such as trains and the like.
