"Stand still."
Garritte did as she asked, remaining immobile.
The creature's eyes moved over her, and rested on her arm. Before she knew it, several crimson spikes erupted from her arm. The pain was the first thing to register, then came shock, Before she could do anything however, the spikes retreated into her body, leaving no trace of a wound.
"W-what was that?" She asked, gripping her arm for a minute.
"Vampire Kirin Cleanser Magic." The creature said. "My magic. And soon to be yours."
"Mine...?" She thought about it for a moment. Such unique, powerful magic. It was surely greater than her Fire Magic. "I hope this doesn't sound rude but..." She tried to find the right words to pose her question, but figured it couldn't come out polite at all. "...what are you?"
The creature decided it would be best to answer simply without going into dramatics. "A Kirin. It's best not to go into detail, there's too much for you to be able to take in, I need your mind empty for this."
"And your name?"
"Is it not considered polite by humans to introduce yourself before asking another's name?" The Kirin asked quizzically.
Garritte looked away for a moment, unsure if she was being reprimanded or not. "The name's Garritte. As opposed to garrote, the device one might use to strangle a person."
"Interesting introduction." "My name is Deus Sanguinem."
"Nice to meet you, Deus Sanguinem." Garritte tried to sound as polite as possible.
