Previous Chapter - Rising Freedom

Introduction

With the destruction of their collars due to the broken Red Lacrima, chaos ensued all over the coliseum, filled with multiple mages and guards, both dead and alive, all of them focusing on one of two things opposite to each other: containment and freedom. Unbeknownst to the guards, the group consisting of Hogotsu and Doris, were organizing the free mages, gaining more and more as they told all of them that the group had an escape plan for them, and all they needed was to continue stalling for time. Minutes passed as the two groups finally arrived towards the chaos, Theo and Dina along with Lucas and Elligr saw each other, waving before making their way towards the middle of the mad house riot, dodging magic attacks from both sides as they finally got together with Hogotsu and Doris.

"This was your plan?! How the hell are we all suppose to get out of here?! Half of the prisoners are just fighting them and the other half ditched us to find a way out of this joint!" Doris said as the group ducked from what appeared to be a Water Magic spell that showed to transform into a dragon as it exploded, causing a monsoon of rain to fall on them.

"Right now we don't have either the time or energy to complain about it, we stick with the plan, Elligr and I already found where a possible exit is for us, it's not too far down into the catacombs. Right now it's too dangerous to try and all go, especially since we still have some belongings! Here's what we're gonna do: we need to split up again, Doris, Hogotsu, Dina, and Elligr, the four of you take whoever will follow and head for the exit, me and Theo still need to get our gear-"

"Hold on! I'm not going anywhere, they have my staff, and I'm not leaving till I get it!" Dina yelled out with anger as Theo and Lucas groaned with irritation.

"Alright, fine. We don't have time to argue about this. Dina, you are with us. Everyone else, go and get everyone that will follow out of here." Theo said in a commanding voice. "Is that okay with everyone?"

"Yeah, I think we can all agree to that, Or-Theo." Hogotsu said, as he smiled at him. "I doubt that we will see each other after this, so it's been one fun ride." Hogotsu held out his hand in order to perform a handshake, which Theo gladly accepted.

"Yeah, it has. Oh, and thanks for giving me the instruction to preform that" Theo said as a smirk was now on his face, one that Hogotsu mirrored.

"If you come across Sarin, their are some people I know who would appreciate him getting a good ass kicking." Elligr added. "Just watch yourself. He's more dangerous than a cornered pack of wolfs, and twice as vicious."

"Thanks Elligr, and the rest of you guys too, if we ever meet in the future, let's celebrate our freedom with some food" Lucas said with a smile as the trio nodded before running towards one of the exits with many of the other prisoners going behind as the guards went chasing after them. The trio looked at each other before nodding as they quickly ran towards their destination: the weapons room.

Thanks to the distraction caused by the rioting, Sarin was able to clear out most of the storeroom the dark mages had been using to keep equipment taken off prisoners. All that remained was a small chest in the corner with a sac on top and a sword leaning in the corner. "Well, might a well get it all..." He muttered to himself.

He emerged from the storeroom a little later, hanging the sword and bag over his shoulder and carrying the chest by one of it's handles. Finding his whey clear, he set off for the final time, content with the massive stash of equipment he had already taken from the dark mages.

The sounds of rushing footsteps could be heard throughout the entire hallway as the mage showed to simply walk more in a normal fashion, not rushing to go anywhere as he then heard the sounds of panting as he turned around to see Lucas, Theo, and Dina all breathing heavily from the long sprint that they did. Both Theo and Lucas looked at what the man was holding, recognizing two of the objects that he was holding.

"Hey, those don't belong to you" Lucas said as his energy began to spike up, causing the area around him to start getting heavier.

Theo did the same as his brother as the area started to get heavier around him as well. "Hit him with everything we got!" Theo said.

"Hey, hey, hold on a minute." Sarin raised his metal arm to stop them, flipping the sword and bag off his shoulder. "You guys just want your shit back, right? Here..." Sarin dropped both objects on the floor and kicked them toward the others. "I got more than I expected running the place dry, so a few knickknacks ain't really worth a fight to me." He regriped the handle of the chest and looked back over his shoulder to the sound of an explosion. "So uh... Yeah. The way's pretty much open for you now, so have fun with whatever..."

"Do you honestly expect me to forget what you put everyone though?!" Lucas said grabbing his gauntlets and placing them on his arms, feeling whole, as his magic began to grew more and more stronger, "The only place you're going is to prison Sarin!" He said as his eyes started to glow.

"Yeah, I'm gonna beat your face in like a goddamn bongo!" Theo said as his face was red with rage at the face this man was trying to talk his way out and escape after forcing them to be in this situation.

Sarin exhaled sharply, apparently disappointed that they where still looking for a fight. "Come on guys, think this over. I ain't going to stand in your way, half the place is already in ruins, and you even got your gear back. Most people I know would call that a good days work and be done with it." Theo and Lucas hadn't moved, and Sarin's expression hardened again. "But here you stand, ready to risk life and limb in a fight against me, for... What? To settle some vendetta?"

"Something trivial like that isn't worth the headache, but you caused hundreds to suffer for something, then you just think it's okay to just run away?! Coward!" Lucas said as his energy levels began to climb more and more, making the walls beginning to creak from the weight of the pressure.

It seemed that they were also busy focused on their agreement, or as some might call it a testosterone-filled battle, they were ignoring the fact that Dina was now searching for her staff. "Damn it! Where is it at?!" She screamed out loud.

"Wha..Dina! Get out of there now!" Theo said in a slightly panicked voiced.

"So the VIP makes an appearance." Sarin quipped with a grin. "How about it princess? Feel like shedding some light on the situation for your friends here?" Dina didn't respond, but Sarin continued regardless. "What's the one most important thing in the world?"

Dina stopped when she heard him say those words, their entire conversation came back up as she realized that things had changed. She wasn't the same girl she was before, Dina was now someone who understood the meaning of trust and friendship, "What matter's most is someone who is your friend, allies you can depend on, and that is something you will never understand Sarin!" She said turning towards him, seeing Lucas running in an attempt to knock Sarin's block off.

"No you bleeding heart..." Sarin stopped himself, catching Lucas's fist in the palm of his metallic arm. Moving with the momentum, Sarin spun on his heel and tossed Lucas back at Theo. "Only thing that matters in this world is survival. That, and what it takes to achieve it." Sarin sighed as they glared at him, flexing the fingers of his metallic arm. "Take your friends for example. The white haired kid survived because he was strong enough. The fat-ass survived because he was lucky..." He off handedly glanced in Dina's direction. "The VIP survived because I bailed her out with the guards." He returned his gaze to the brothers. "Now fighting me... That ain't going to do wonders to your odds of survival. Just so you know."

Theo glared at Sarin with so much anger that if looks could kill, Sairn would have disintegrated in a matter of moments. "Well then. Let's see our chances of survival against you? How does that sound?" Theo said as he held his hands up, which caused his sword to travel into hands and took his battle stance.

Sarin sighed, flipping the chest he had been holding up onto one shoulder. He grin back at him however, Theo's face reflecting back at him in Sarin's shades. "Try your luck." A blade along Sarin's metal forearm shone orange, as well as the claws at his fingertips. "Let's see where it get's ya."

"That sounds good to me" Lucas said cracking his knuckles through his gauntlets, smiling before both he and Theo went towards Sarin, with Lucas moving first as jumped to the wall, using it as a jumping point as he attempted to do a rolling roundhouse kick right to his head.

Sarin ducked, allowing Lucas to simply pass over his head. "Come on, got to do better than that..."

Theo appeared behind Sarin in the form of a black blur and moved his sword in a horizontal swipe towards the neck of his opponent, with the clear intention of taking his head off.

Sarin spun again, catching Theo's blade with the back of the wrist with his metal arm. "Hmm..." He admired the sword for a moment, then grinned at Theo. "Better!" A quick kick to the stomach knocked Theo back, then a wave of Sarin's hand sent a barrage of wind blades after him. "Wind Make: Razor Storm!"

Lucas went towards the attack as he appears in front of the attack, smiling as his body started to glow as suddenly a wall of energy appeared, "Slamming Halo!" Lucas yelled as the storm heading towards Lucas was blocked by the wall, disbursing it without any trouble.

"Oh, teamwork..." Sarin quipped, dropping the chest he had been holding. "How quaint." A sudden gust of wind blew throughout the area, propelling Sarin up above the wall Lucas had created. Once over the top, Sarin slammed his hands together, building up a whirling ball of air between his palms. "Wind Make: Blade Surge!" He fired his spell like a cannonball down onto the brothers, cutting winds scraping down the insides of the wall.

Theo squatted, poking the ground with his glowing index finger. The ground shattered as a large slab of earth was rose up and position to block the deadly wind blades, doing it's job perfectly. Theo rushed from behind the makeshift wall, and swung his sword, as it was glowing a redish-black color. "Cerberus Hunter!" Three energy blades shoot out, one after the other in quick succession, heading towards Sarin.

"Ahh... Now we're talking!" Sarin grinned at the incoming attack, and his metallic arm lit up with magic. He caught Theo's spell with his claws, flying backwards through the air. Sparks rained in every direction, and Sarin looked over his shoulder to the wall quickly approaching. His slashed at it with his flesh arm, using his wind magic to blast a hole in the wall to soften the impact. Theo's spell dissipated as Sarin slid to a stop, finding himself standing in the arena. He grinned looked back at the hole he had flown through, brushing the dust off his jacket. "Wow..." He took a moment to look around. "How's that for irony?"

Both Lucas and Theo had jumped out much faster than expected as they smiled, looking over to Sarin as Lucas cracked his knuckles, "Looks like you decided to stick around, we wouldn't want this party to end so soon." He said to Sarin, then quickly rushing as he then stops a few feet from Sarin, charging Eternano quickly into his palm before slamming down, creating a powerful rock wave that was aimed right at him, hoping to get him.

A blue light erupted from the palm of Sarin's metal arm, countering the force of Lucas's attack and forcing them apart with the shock-wave. "Well, you guys seem pretty set on doing this..." Sarin retorted as he slid to a stop. "Guess that means I just got to kill ya."

Theo pointed his sword at him as though he was getting ready to challenging him. "Well, I would like to see if you would be able to actually pull that off. Now, let's go!" Theo shouted as he dashed forward, once again becoming a black blur. He positioned his sword to stab Sarin in the stomach.

Sarin snorted, unimpressed by the attack. He brushed the tip of the sword aside with his metal arm then closed his hand over the blade, stopping Theo cold. Before any action could be taken, he held his other arm up to Theo's chest and shouted. "Wind Make: Razor Storm!"

From the front of Theo appeared to show two Eternano arms that then merged together to form one large energy arm that took the bulk of the attack, but still managed to pass through as a weakened spell as it hit Theo, but not enough to seriously injure him. Lucas them made his way behind Sarin, "Don't forget, you're battling two guys, not one!" He said attempting to do a roundhouse kick towards Sarin's head while his other hands were full.

Droping to the ground, Sarin allowed Lucas to fly over his head and crash into Theo. The two brothers rolled along the ground as Sarin stood back up. "Yeah, two guys who don't know the first thing about fighting as a team." The blades on Sarin's metal began to glow, a blue light shining in his palm. "Two people or twenty people. Numbers don't mean jack if you don't know what your doing." He leveled his artificial arm at the brothers, firing an orb of magic from his palm.

Theo swept his sword foward, sending out another traid of reddish black energy slashes. The energy slashes collided with the the orb of magic that was flying their way and created a large shockwave as they cancelled each other out and picked up a lot of dust. "Shit, he is pretty good. Not only that but we are still at half power." Theo exclaimed.

"Yeah, you are." Sarin exclaimed flatly. "And yeah, I am." He slid his hands into his pockets with a long sigh, growing tired of what had become a battle of attrition. "So how long are you two going to keep pushing this? Because I'm getting board of just knockin' back everything you throw at me. So ether kick it up or leave me the hell alone."

"Oh, you're getting bored huh, well allow me to make things fun." Lucas said smiling as his body began to glow, channeling Eternano throughout his body as he began to condense it, producing what appeared to be a red-like secondary skin appeared as it continued to grow more and more, enveloping Lucas in a suit as it made him appear more muscular due to the tightness of the suit. "Alright, buckle up Sarin, this is gonna become interesting." Lucas said moving faster than he did before, leaving behind a gust of wind as he jumped to a wall, running alongside it before quickly jumping towards Sarin at near instant speeds, attempting to do a palm thrust right towards his back.

Sarin spun fast, catching Lucas's attack with the elbow of his metal arm. He slid back slightly, caught off guard by the increased power of his blow. He grinned however, finally showing a slight interest in the battle. "Alright, kicking it up it is!" He clapped his hands together, producing a tornado with his real arm and pushing it at Lucas. "Wind Make: Tempest Force!"

Theo dashed towards Lucas and pushed him out of the way, taking the full force of the spell, being shot back into a wall. He let out a groan, pushing rubble that was on him, and stood back up. He placed his hand over face and brought it down, summoning a white mask that had red lines running down the eyeholes. "Lets get serious, shall we?" Theo said, his voice now distorted. Theo dashed forward in a black blur and began to dance around Sarin, slashing and stabbing at him.

Sparks shot through the air with each clash between Sarin's artificial arm and Theo's sword, ringing out through the entire complex. Sarin brushed Theo's sword strike aside after a few moments of combat, slipping behind him and shooting up into the air before Theo could follow up. Wind began to flow into Sarin's hands while he hung high in the air above the others, laughing to himself while building up magic power. "Guess the pair of ya might be a good fight after all." His hands shot down at them, creating hundreds of tiny air blades to rain down on the entire arena. "Wind Make: Razor Storm!"

The smoke cleared as it showed that most of the arena was shredded, all except for a small patch of earth that was uprooted as it had been hit, but not completely destroyed as Lucas had went right in front of Theo, slamming down his fist as it had created an uprooted slab of the floor that blocked the spell just in the nick of time. "Theo, go in for the hit when I distract him." He said looking over to his brother, who nodded as he waited for the moment to strike. Focusing his new physiology into his arm, Lucas caused the slab of floor to his hand, beginning to swing it around and around, releasing it at high speeds towards Sarin.

Sarin appeared unimpressed, sliding sideways through the air and out of the path of the flying debris. "And your back to cheep tricks again." He called as the rock fell to the ground. "You saved this thing as a trump card and this is all you can do? I thought you where suppose to save the world or somethin'?"

Theo, who was now on the slab of rock, used it as a pushing pad to making himself go faster as he was approching Sarin at high speeds. He moved his sword to cleave down on Sarin's arm, the blade one again releasing several wisp of reddish black energy.

Sarin sidestepped the attack in midair, avoiding Theo's sword and allowing him to pass by unhindered. "Sorry dude, can't win a fight against me in the air." He leveled his metal arm, firing another blast of magic at Theo as he fell back to earth.

Lucas went running towards Theo, quickly grabbing him to cushion the fall as they both slammed into the ground, slidding a good few feet before they got up, cracking their necks as they looked up towards Sarin, He's way faster than I expected, and it's not exactly like we were powerful to begin with. We need to try and get this finished quickly before it's too late.... Lucas thought to himself, unaware of what Sarin was doing.

"Look guys, I'm running out of patience here." Sarin quipped with a grin. "I don't have time to play with you all day. So you might want to consider turning tail now." He removed his shades, hanging them by the necklace around his neck and glairing at the brothers with piercing orange eyes. "Because naïve dumbasses like you tend to be kind of fragile."

Theo simply glared at him while his mask vanished from his face. "Well then. I guess I can show you a new trick that I learned here." Theo responded as wisp of what seemed to be black flames bursted from his outfit. Finally, his entire outfit combusted into black flames but did not burn away. Instead they shrouded him, as though they wished to protect him and burn all that try to touch him. Theo, who had closed his eyes earlier, now opened them and said in a calm voice. "I will turn you into ash, for that is my duty. I am Kutsugae Hio, the man shrouded in fire."

"Are you now?" Sarin asked sarcastically, flying higher into the air. "Well, you haven't been able to hit me so far. So let's see what your little burning man routine can do." He put his hands together above his head, bringing them down at the brothers and firing a barrage of air blades once again. "Wind Make: Razor Storm!"

Lucas was in awe of Theo's new form, but knew that he would have to ask how he learned it later as he jumped forward, blocking the attack with his body as his suit was able to deflect some of the attacks, but not all as his suit was shredded and he slammed hard into the ground, but not before firing what appeared to be concentrated Eternano arm right at Sarin.

With a simple wave of his hand, Sarin's claws slashed through Lucas's attack. Reducing it to nothing in an instant. "You know, if the pair of you spent less time covering for each other, you'd be doing a hell of a lot better." Sarin cracked his knuckles in the palm of his metal hand, closely watching Theo for any sign of attack. "Instead, you both look like your trying to heroically sacrifice yourselves for the other. And taking a lot of hit's because of it." He laughed to himself, finding the whole situation somewhat amusing. "Trust me, living is a hell of a lot more impressive then dyin'."

Theo swung his sword, as small orbs of black fire was launced from it. The orbs flew threw the air before each one was scattered around Sarin. "I would advise that you do not try and move. It would be very unfortunate for you to be destroyed while I was unable to see the look on your face." Theo said in a monotone voice, as he stared at Sarin.

"Aw, now wouldn't that be a thing to miss?" Sarin grinned again, placing his hands together. "Wind Make: Tempest Force!" A tornado whirled around him, seemingly coming from nowhere, and blew away Theo's flames with an overpowering down-burst.

Lucas and Theo could feel the increasing winds blowing down on them as it took quite a bit to not get forced down, "Time for another team play bro!" Lucas said focusing his magic as he created two large solid hands that erupted from the ground, pushing upward with Lucas's aid as they were guiding away the wind, moving back from one another as the two hands came rushing towards Sairn, attemtping to squish him like a bug.

Sarin flew backwards, avoiding the hands and reducing them to nothing with a few blasts of magic from his metal arm. "Not even close." He came to a stop over one of the grandstands, landing on one of the guardrails and put his shades back on. "Come on guys, I'm gettin' board over here!"

Theo was placed his hand on the ground, making the ground began to glow slightly. "Lucas, I need you to distract him for a while! I have a plan but it will take some time to put into effect." Theo said as he continued to keep his hand on the ground.

The wind began do die down around the arena, however another vortex soon formed in Sarin's hand. "Say goodbye hero boys! Wind Make: Whirlwind Fang!" The air around the arena began to shake, and an array of wolf shaped wind constructs charged at the brothers.

Lucas nodded at his brother as he stood in front of the wolves, focusing his power as suddenly his entire body burned bright red. This caused intense heat to emerge as the wolves attempted to attack him, only to be repelled by a powerful heat shield as it shot them back a few feet, "Go Theo" He said refocusing his attention on the wolves as he went on the offensive to attack them.

Just after one spell was dispersed, Lucas saw Sarin jump through the smoke not a few feet away, far to close for comfort. The blades on Sarin's arm lit up with magic again, and he thrust his claws at Lucas's stomach. "Too slow, hero boy!"

Theo let out a loud cry as he called out the name of his spell. "Raze the earth with blazing glory! Burned Earth Encampment!" A tower of black fire shot out from underneath Sarin, coming out like a volcano.

Sarin reacted fast, forgoing his attack on Lucas and creating a vortex of air below himself for protection. The flames pushed him upwards, and he quickly added his other hand to reinforce his defence. He rose above the grandstand wall then quickly rolled through the air, allowing the flames to rocket past him. He took a moment to catch his breath, then grinned at the brother's below. "Well, that was pretty sudden. Almost had me for a second."

In that moment, Lucas focused a ball of energy from his magic, sending it right towards Sarin as it expanded to a bigger size when it came into contact with sunlight through the clouds.

Sarin studied the attack as it came at him, sidestepping it in midair at the last second. The fireball tore through the stands, eventually blasting a hole in the coliseum wall. "Guess the pair of you are starting to run dry on magic, aren't ya?." another tornado formed in his hand. "Shame. Guess this is the end of the line." He drew back his hands, then made a swinging motion as if holding a bat. "Wind Make: Gale Sword!" A blade of air ripped through the arena along the path of Sarin's swing, humming like a chainsaw.

Theo appeared behind Sarin and swung his sword down as it was now releasing pure wisp of black flames. "Burning Cerberus!" Theo called out as it contiued down to Sarin.

Sarin spun around and caught the sword's blade in the hand of his metal arm, stopping it before Theo could finish his swing. Black flames burned in Sarin's hand, though it did little to deter him. "Having a metal limb can come in handy. Wouldn't ya say?" Then was unable to pull his sword free, even as Sarin held a whirling vortex of air up into his face. "Wind Make: Blade Surge!"

Lucas got ready as he summoned up multiple arms on his back, making them all move with ease as he jumped upward, going straight for Sarin with four arms blocking for him with the other two shot out magic blasts towards him.

Sarin stopped his attack short, but used the surprise to grab the wrist of Theo's sword arm and flip him over his shoulder. Theo fell just in time to catch Lucas's attack, inadvertently protecting Sarin from harm. Theo fell as the attack subsided, and Sarin began to laugh at Lucas. "First rule of squad combat, rookie; never fire at someone that close to a companion." Theo hit the ground below, and Sarin pointed at him as an example. "Because something like that'll happen, pretty much every time."

Theo quickly got up off the ground and thrusted his left arm forward as multiple orbs of black fire appeared, surrounding Sarin. With a quick snap of his fingers, the orbs exploded into a black inferno. "That should hold him off for a moment."

Sarin raised a hand, producing a swirling vortex of air to keep the flames at bay. "Haven't you two had enough yet?" He reached back and began rubbing his neck with his metal arm. "Because this is seriously bordering on tedium."

Theo was about to go again, but was stopped by Lucas, "Wait brother, look at this point you know as well as I do we're running low on magic, and this guy is still at half his strength after using those spells. We can't beat him in a long range battle" He said with a glare at Sarin.

"Well, what the hell should we do then?" Theo said as he was clearly becoming frustrated with the lack of progression that was occurring through the battle. "We need to take him down and fast."

"I know, but he's faster than both of us and seems to easily read what we're gonna do before we do it with the wind of his..." Lucas said as he realized the answer was right in front of him, "I got it! We still have Nova and Star Smash!".

"And? What good will that do for us?" Theo said as though he was ready to give up. "He was able to manuever around yours and I'm positive that he will do the same for mine."

"True, but there might be one chance we have, it's a long shot and both of us might not make it, but it's our only shot, we have to do our combo" Lucas said as Theo was shocked by what he had just suggested to do against an opponent like Sarin.

Theo let out a sigh, knowing Lucas was correct and if he continued to act like this, then they would surely lose this battle. "Alright, you've convinced me. So, how are we gonna go about this?" Theo asked, looking at Sarin.

"Same way dad taught us how to do, here we go." Lucas said as both he and Theo began relaxed their bodies, tuning into the energies that flowed out of their bodies as it flowed into each other, causing a rising power to erupt, causing the both of them to feel the shock of it putting pressure on their body, but not before Lucas looked over to Theo, and vise-versa, both of them knowing what they had to do as they both roared, causing the energy to meld completely as one as markings of black and white emerged on both of them, only to change into pure gray for each of the brothers.

Through it all, Sarin seemed unimpressed. "So this lightshow got a point?" He sighed, watching the brothers build energy. "Come on guys, I'm tryin' to be nice here. Just take the easy way out and piss off already."

Theo and Lucas let a grin spread across their faces, both in perfect synchronization. "Alright! Let's go!" The brothers said together as they charged forward, each step they took shaking the very ground beneath them. In one single step afterwords, they disappeared almost instantly, rushing at incredibly sound-breaking speeds right upward as they were encloaked in a grayish aurora that seemed to make them appear as if they were a comet heading right towards Sarin.

Sarin acted quickly, not wasting time with another smartass comment. The air spun around his arms, and he thrust his hands outwards to create a screeching drill of wind to intercept the brothers. "Wind Make: Aero Divider!" Their spells clashed, sending sparks shooting through the air in every direction, and the air shook from the magic power given off by the three of them. Sarin doubled the force behind his spell, underestimating the combined power of his two opponents. A light began to build between the two spells, and Sarin flipped back his metal hand at the last second. Another blast of magic was added to the clash, causing an explosion that obscured the entire arena in smoke.

In the rubble of the hallway, Dina was seen with her new clothes, now torn and ripped off as the sleeves were taken off while she tried to grab her staff, which she was holding in her hand. "Ugh, those idiots, leaving me to have to get my own staff, but when I see them-" She stopped, seeing an exit that was close by as she made her way towards him, finally escaping the collapsing inside, only to look upward to see the two brothers flying, heading right for Sarin as he produced a barrier, protecting himself as they slammed right into each other, producing a powerful explosion that created a shock wave throughout the area.

Dust came up as Dina covered her eyes with her arms as she tried to see through the dust, looking up to see who was the winner of the clash, only to be shocked at what she saw. Both Theo and Lucas were both standing what appeared to be an invisible platform as they were breathing heavily, bleeding from their arms and faces. Before she could figure out what happened, a powerful backlash occurred, causing both of them to fall off, falling down to the ground.

Dina's shock look

"LUCAS!!! THEO!!!" She yelled with horror as she went running, creating what appeared to be a force-field of sorts as she manipulated it to become a soft cushion for both brothers.

Another gust of wind blew through the ring as the brothers landed, clearing the dust away in a heartbeat. A piece of rouble shuttered slightly, then a flash of magic reduced it to rubble a moment later. Dina glanced at it just in time to see Sarin stand up, brushing the dust off himself from the clash. "Well, glad that's over." He removed his shades, which broke in two the second they where off his face. "Dammit, these things are expensive."

Dina stood amazed; Sarin was bleeding from his forehead and ends of his jacket was torn, but he looked no worse for where in the face of such a clash. Upon discarding the other half of his broken shades, he glanced in Dina's direction and grinned. "Hey there princess." He began walking towards her, kicking rocks aside with his feet. "Thought you'd have the sense to take off while you had the chance." He wiped the blood from his head with his metal hand, then saw the brothers resting behind her. "Guess being a dumbass is contagious."

Dina glared at the man who had caused all of this. "What the hell does it take to send you down into the ground and make you stay there!" Dina yelled out, her eyes threatening to leak out tears. "You've caused some much pain and suffering!" Dina's voice lowered down until it was now normal, "But I know that you are memerly a pawn in this game. So tell me who set this all up?"

"Wrong on both counts, princess." He said with a laugh. "First off; I gave our friends here every chance to hit the road, but they kept on fighting. It's their own damn fault for thinking the they could win because they where on some moral high ground. Talking about making the world a brighter place, or some bullshit like that." Dina continued to glair at him, watching blood run down his cheek from the wound on his forehead. "And second, I told you before I'm just a guy they paid to do a job. I could really give a damn about who runs the show here."

"All you ever see is money, whatever shred of humanity that was once in you is gone, all you are is a souless waste of flesh who obeys anyone that has the largest amount of money." Dina said growling with rage.

"Your powers of observation continue to astound, princess." Sarin said with a grin. "Some food for that naïve thinking though; I could have just as easily been paid to kill every one of those cloak wearin' freaks and set you and all your little friends free." By now, Sarin was standing close enough to Daina that his shadow cast over her and the brothers. "Bet you'd think I was a good guy if that where the case, wouldn't ya princess?"

"Perhaps, if that was the case." Dina admitted to Sarin with no hesitation. "But that is a completely different scenario. One which you nor I know the outcome of. For all you know, it could have ended just like this but with us believing that you betrayed us in the end."

"Well, not betrayed you exactly..." He retrieved a small key from his pocket and began spinning it around his finger. "These guys really need to be more careful with who they give the key to the storage room too. Because I have to say, that guy I offed to save your fat friend? Not the best choice." Sarin seemed to be rambling to himself, however he quickly realised this and flicked the key away again. "Last bit of advice though. Don't assume the world's all black and white like those two dumbasses there." He gestured to Theo and Lucas. "And if you're going to fight someone, for the love of god know when you've lost." After wiping blood from his face one last time, Sarin spun on his heel, put his hands in his pockets, and began walking away. "See ya later, princess."

"Oh I'm afraid that won't be possible" A voice said as Dina looked up at where the empty balcony of the throne room was, seeing a hooded man as he looked down, smiling at them.

"What the- who in the world are you?" Dina questioned, slightly shifting her stance in case she was forced to fight. "Where did you come from?"

"Not another one..." Sarin complained. "Look, do you really want to try your luck against me after seeing that last little show just now? Because I still got plenty of juice left of your looking for a quick ride to the afterlife."

"Oh come now  Sarin, is that anyway to talk back to your employer? After all, who else would have provided you with your meager paycheck" He said taking off his hood as it was revealed to be the cult leader that hired Sarin. "In any case, I don't really have the time to match wits with you, since it's about time to begin" He said before channeling his magic throughout the area, causing a reddish glow to emerge as magic runes began showing up all over the area as he began to chant an incantation.

"What is going on?" Dina said with a worried-filled tone emulating from her voice. "I don't know what he is doing but I get the feeling that it is incredibly dangerous. We can't stay here." She looked over at Sarin, to see his reaction to this turn of events.

"Again, very observant, princess." Sarin quipped, seeming less concerned with their situation. "But to answer your question, no clue. The hell if I'm waiting around to find out though." A magic light began to glow in the palm of Sarin's metal arm, which he raised up to aim at the cult leader and opened fire.

The result of the attack caused the ritual to be interrupted as it pierced his body, killing him in the process as the area then stopped. However, before they could realize what was going on, another red aura began to envelop the area as it hit both Sarin and Dina.

Dina summoned up a barrier to protect her and Sarin, as well as Theo and Lucas, from the aura, feeling that it might cause more harm if it touched them. "What the hell is going on?!" She called out as she saw the aura began to die out.

Sarin glanced around what was left of the arena, now left in ruin from his fight with the brothers. "Call it a death throw." After a moment, he spotted a hole created by one of their attacks, and began walking towards it. A few steps in he took a step up into the air, followed by another, then another, as if walking up an invisible staircase. "Well, unless you want a crack at me too, I'll be heading off, princess." Dina didn't say anything, wondering what truly went on in Sarin's twisted mind. Once at the exit, Sarin glanced back at them one last time. "Make sure to tell the dumbasses how lucky they are too. It ain't every day that I literally walk away from a fight." With a final grin, Sarin stepped off the outer edge of the arena and fell from sight.

The sound of birds chirping and rushing water could be heard in the background as Lucas slowly opened his eyes, looking upward at the ceiling, seeing it as he sighed and attempted to get up, feeling extreme pain in his chest as he groaned in pain, trying to understand where he was as he heard groans next to him. Turning over, he saw his older brother wrapped in bandages as he was groaning and waking up as well.

Theo sat up and flinched, holding his head as he closed his eyes. "Shit, my head hurts." He called out in frustration. He opened his eyes slowly and looked around, seeing Lucas. "Hey, do you know where the heck we are at?"

"Join the club, I don't exactly know either, but..." A strange smell came into his view as he could smell the sweetness of food as Theo smelled it as well, making both of their stomachs growl, "But I do know I am hungry" Lucas said trying to get up, only to wince in pain.

"Well, I'm not staying here. I'm getting the hell up and seeing what's up." Theo said as pushed himself off the ground, feeling his ribs creak in pain. He let out a growl as he used the wall nearby for support, finally able to get off the floor. "Damn, my ribs hurt like a dragon stomped on them. Plus my left hand is not doing so well."

"You're telling me, hard to believe that guy, no matter what we did it was like he was invulnerable" Lucas said willing himself up as it was like multiple needles were stabbing throughout his body as he followed Theo through what appeared to be a cottage as they eventually made their way to a kitchen. The two were shocked with what appeared to be a large buffet of food as they drooled a little.

Theo pushed Lucas behind him, sending back to the ground and ran at the food, ignoring his hurting ribs. He grabbed a plate of food and began to chow down, not caring if some got into his hair.

Lucas went in digging as well, unaware of who was coming towards them as they both looked over to see Dina with more food as well as a new outfit as she smiled. "Looks like you two are awake, I'm glad" She said putting the food down before looking at them.

Theo stopped eating and looked at her, checks stuffed with food. He swalllowed and let out a loud belch. "Excuse me. Anyways, I guess that you managed to take to this place. Speaking of which, where are we, Dina?"

Dina shook her head slightly at Theo's lack of manners. "We are in the town that is nearby the coliseum. After I dragged your bodies here, I took you to a clinic and rented this house. You've been out for a week now." She said as she ate her food with care.

"A week?! Are you kidding me?!" Lucas said shocked as he yelled out, but winced in pain as he looked to her as she nodded before grabbing another roll to eat.

"Yep, after the incident with that guy, we were able to make our escape and get to safety, but I am lucky you two are okay, I was pretty worried" She said fingering her roll as they both noticed she seemed to be much sadder than before, which surprised them given her recent history with them.

"Um, thanks. We appreciate what you have done for us. By the way, did you happen to be harm during the battle? We didn't really pay attention to you while the battle was going on." Theo asked with concern in his voice, feeling terrible if something happened to Dina, though the reason why was lost to him.

Luckily, Dina shook her head sideways and replied. "No, I wasn't harmed in the midst of the fight. You guys stayed pretty far away from me and keep destroying any gravel and such that would almost hit me by accident."

"Well that guy Sarin wasn't easy, whatever happened to him?" Lucas said looking over to her as she coughed a bit from drinking water as it went down the wrong hole.

"Well I thought he was gonna kill me, but like the coward he was, he ran away to avoid the red lacrima aura" She said scoffing before eating two more rolls.

"Yeah, that sounds like something he would do. That freak'n bastard. I hope he gets what's coming to him." Theo grumbled aloud as he grabbed a pork-stuffed bun and took a bite.

"So, I was wondering somethig. What will you two be doing now?" Dina questioned as she looked at both the siblings, who paused thier eating.

"Well, I was hoping to have captured the guy that did all those awful things, but that mission ended, so looks like once I recover enough, I'll be on my way to a new town" He said as Dina and Theo looked at him with surprise, "It's just how I've always been, there is always someone who needs help".

"I see, and what about you?" Dina said looking to Theo.

"I'll probably travel with this fool over here." Theo said as he pointed to Lucas. "He has a knack for getting into trouble and someone needs to be there to get him out of it. Plus I need to find that Hogotsu kid and see if he can explain this magic that he taught me more."

"Oh yeah. What was thing you pulled of during your battle. It was kinda cool for a idiot like you" Dina said in a smart aleck tone.

"First off big brother, I didn't need a babysitter then and I don't need one now, I'll be fine by myself, and that last attack was something we call Quasar Smash, it's a really difficult to do. " He said groaning from the wincing in pain.

"It has one hell of an after effect though" She said going over to him and beginning to rub his back in an attempt to ease up the pain.

"Pfft, stop being a baby. I'm hurt and you don't see me complaining. Because I am a man damnit!" Theo said as he pointed his hand to the celling.

"No, you're a dumbass that makes me question his intelligence everyday. But what was that flame clock thingie that you pulled off during the fight?" Dina asked.

"Yeah that was something I never saw before, when did you learn it?" Theo said looking over to him as Dina finished massaging Lucas and returned to her seat to eat some of the doughnuts that she brought over.

"I honestly thought it was some sort of mud that just got stuck on your cloak" She said chuckiling.

"Remeber that Hogotsu kid? Well he figured that I need a trump card as he figured that we would fight Sarin. So, he began to teach me the basic of his own Magic. He called it Imperial Embodiment or something like that." Theo explained.

"That kid was able to create his own Magic? Huh, that is rather surprising to hear." Dina retorted.

"Not uncommon though, I learned my Personification of The Sun Titan from someone who had originally created it" Lucas said as he went to grab a donut from the box, only to be met by Dina's hungry look as a small bit of drool was dripping out.

"Are those dounuts?" Dina asked as she began to slowly walk towards Lucas, her body positioned to where she could pounce at him.

"Um, Dina. Are you alright? You're kind freak'n me out right now and I'm sure that Lucas is not feeling comfortable with this as well." Theo said a sa he watched Dina creep towards his brother, clearly ignoring his words.

"You want one... I mean you did buy them after all..." Lucas said as he gave her the donut, seeing her gobble it up before she moved on to the other ones, making both of the brothers look at her with shock on their faces.

"Oh this is the most delicious thing ever" She said nearly eating all the ones that she herself bought.

"This is freaking me out so much right now. Do you think she'll get like this whenever there are donuts around?" Theo asked Lucas as they both watched with morbid fascination on how Dina was eating the donuts.

"I think it's more with anything good she likes, moreso, how the hell can she eats so much and not gain a-"Lucas was about to finish his sentence, but found his mouth had been covered by Theo, who knew that if he had said that, the two would be dead.

"You sure you guys don't want any? It's really good" She said with half her mouth full as they shook their head and continued to watch her eat.

"So, what are you gonna do now, Dina?" Theo asked.

Dina stopped, mid-bit, looking at Theo and said. "Huh? What do you mean?"

Smacking off Theo's hand, "I think what my dunce of a brother is trying to ask is, do you have any plans now that you're a free girl" Lucas asked as Dina looked at her tenth donut, wondering that herself before she realized that she already made plans with Theo.

"Actually, I am keeping you to the promise you made me" She said chuckling as Theo, for the first time in his life, actually blushed when he recognized what she meant.

"Huh? Oh right. I promised her I would help her out when we got out of the coliseum." Theo explained when he saw Lucas' confused look.

"Ah I see, well that's perfect, it means you will be a team together, and that's something you seem to need right now brother" Lucas said smiling.

"Yeah, shut up. You've got no room to talk about what I need, you little troublemaker." Theo said as he smacked Lucas up the head.

Dina let out a laugh at thier antics before taking a bit out of another donut and saying. "Well, it looks like we've all got a plan."

Both brothers were glaring at each other as they looked to Dina, who was still laughing as both brothers blushed and turned away from each other in a huff as the three of them began to finish off meal that was in front of them.

One Week Later...

The trio was now gathered up on a small hill, overlooking the town. Theo, who was standing beside Dina, looked over at Lucas. "So this is where we part ways, huh? It's been real crazy, I will say that." He said, letting a light laugh escape from his mouth. "I hope that you don't yourself into anything too insane. I won't be their to bail you out during those times."

"Yeah yeah, just be careful yourself brother, next time we may have to fight ourselves, so hope you get stronger with that new magic" Lucas said one final time as he departed.

"Well. Are you ready to go, Dina?" Theo said as he looked over to his companion, who was looking over the town where the once were at.

"Hmm? Oh, yeah. I'm ready. Let's go and do this thing!" Dina said in an incredibly excited tone as she took off in a run, away from the town.

Theo let out a chuckle as he followed after her, taking one last look to the town where it caused all of this to begin. He let out a soft smile and turned to catch up with Dina, never looking back again.
