Dragon Slayer Magic (滅竜魔法, Metsuryū Mahō) is a Lost Magic and Ancient Spell used by mages known as Dragon Slayers (
Overview
Dragon Slayer Magic is similar to God Slayer Magic and Devil Slayer Magic as it imbues its users with an elemental magic that is designed specifically to slay dragons. This magic was actually given to humanity by Dragons during the Dragon King Festival, a war between dragons that cooperated with humanity and those that despised it. The first Dragon Slayer was Irene Belsarion. The main way this magic is used is by shrouding the caster's body with their respective attribute or summoning it to utilize a bevy of offensive, defensive, and supplementary techniques. They are immune to the element they are aligned with and even capable of eating the element to replenish their strength and magic power. Dragon Slayers are unable to consume the element they create. Dragon Slayer Magic is the only way to kill, or even hurt Dragons, who are shown to be mostly unaffected by other forms of Magic.
One of the dangers of Dragon Slayer Magic is dragonization. Learning the magic too quickly can cause the wielder itself to slowly turn into a dragon, losing their former sense of self and becoming more prone to fits of rage. Through a secret art or other similar means, Dragon Slayers are able to stave off the effects of Dragonization or even use it to their benefit in a technique known as Dragon Force.

Dragonization

Dragonization (竜化, Ryuka) is a side effect of Dragon Slayer Magic due to the Dragon Seed in each Dragon Slayer. Execcisve use of Dragon Slayer Magic can slowly transform the user into a dragon themselves. It is denoted by draconic features beginning to overtake the caster, such as scales, wings, and reptilian eyes. It grants the user increased physical prowess as their physiology becomes more draconic. Dragonization can be controlled by a Dragon creating antibodies to prevent the spread of dragonization. Through patience and training, Dragon Slayers can even willingly partially dragonize themselves to make use of the greater physical capacity their draconic attributes grant them.
Dragon Modes
Dual Element Dragon Mode (モード二要素竜, Mōdo Niyōsoryū) is an advanced capability of Dragon Slayers that allows them to consume an element other than their own to combine the elements inside their body and use the properties of both at the same time. This gives them more versatility, new spells, and enhances the power of their magic greatly.
Single Element Enhancement Mode (モード優位要素竜, Mōdo Yūiyōsoryū lit. "Superior Dragon Element Mode") is an advanced capability of Devil Slayers that allows them to reach the ultimate heights of their element by modifying its properties such as turning lightning to red lightning or iron to steel. It also manifests as a phenomenon called Dragon King Mode (モード竜王, Modo Ryūō), or Dragon Queen Mode (竜女王, Modo Ryūjoō), in which the Dragon Slayer invokes the truest depths of their element and accesses the full power of dragons.
