Fairy Tail: Aphotic Zone (妖精の尻尾・射干玉地帯, Fearī Teiru: Nubatama Chitai; lit. "Fairy Tail: Darkness Zone") is a fanon installment based on the Fairy Tail series written by Hiro Mashima. It is written by Zef and is a retelling of Shin Inari's story and his first "official" year as an independent mage and an entrepreneur who slowly builds his reputation and tries to find his place in a city where he lost his childhood.

The series is divided into a five-chapter-wise format each taking place over months and the entire story occurs during the entirety of the year X797. It also includes hints and sneak-peeks of Shin's training and the life story of a young female mage named Kaedé Fūrin and how she's stripped of her family and happiness by the cruel city and is consumed by her vengeance. It roughly covers his journey of becoming his own man.

• This is the first five-part, one-shot series ever made by the user and is more or less inspired by the format of Fairy Tail: Radiance; despite the two stories being vastly different and taking place in different time and space.
• Aphotic Zone was originally supposed to be a mini-series but ended up becoming a gigantic storyline as time went by.
• Both the sub-sections of Chapter Three and Four; Ghosts From the Past and Kingfish, respectively are actually song titles.
• The prologue will be posted sometime around July, 2016. Following it's publish, each chapter and sub-plot will be posted/updated once on a weekly basis.
