Genjirō Kusaka (草冠元ジロウ, Kusaka Genjirō) is the father of Seijirō Kusaka, the grandfather of Shōjirō, Ryou, Shigure, Naomi, and Akio Kusaka, as well as being the great-great-great grandson of Sen'un Kusaka, as well as the husband of Hana Kusaka. Genjirō was known for being an unimaginably powerful mage, even in his advanced age his power had barley waned. He was known primarily by his moniker of Fire King (火王, Kaō) for his immense mastery over Fire Magic.

Do to the close proximity of the Kusaka Clans mansion to the city of Magnolia, Genjirō has shown to have connections to the Fairy Tail Guild, especially its third guild master, Makarov Dreyer, of whom he is very good friends with. Do to Genjirō's advanced age, he is believed to have known the first two Fairy Tail Guild masters as well.

Appearance

Genjirō has the appearance of an old man with numerous scars running along his torso and head, the two most prominent being a pair of long, perpendicular scars above his right eye, a long grey beard, and long, grey eyebrows that off and down his face and reaching the top of his beard. His typical clothing include traditional clothing, a black kimono including split legged hakama and an overlarge, white haori that is draped over his shoulders instead of worn. Genjirō, despite his outward appearance has an incredibly well build body, being highly muscular despite his advanced age. His is also much shorter when compared to his full standing height in his youth.

Genjirō in his youth had a much shorter, being only chest length, blond beard, had a full head of blond hair that reached to his mid back with strands forming a thick antenna-like shape hanging in front of his face., and was much taller than he is in his advanced age. Genjirō in his youth was still very muscular, much like in his advanced age. During his youth his common attire mainly consisted, seemingly the only thing he wore, was a green, long-sleeved robe.
