Grom is the bandit leader of a group of northern bandits. He is one of the very few bandits who is a Mage. He is the main antagonist of the first chapter in Fairy Tail: Before.

He is a rather old man, who wears a metal armor, with furs on it. He is an old man, with white hair, and is rather muscular. He has scars all over his body, from a fight with another Mage from a guild.

He is a joking man, who considers guilds to be like bandits, but bandits having better pay. He does however, have a much more violent personality, willing to kill dozens of people for little gold. This shows his rather greedy side.

Despite this, he is rather pragmatic, deciding to kill only the men in the village. He does so, because he knows if he kills women and children, the magic council will make it a more bigger priority.

He used to be a magic candidate for many guilds, thanks to his fire skills. Despite this, he seems to like the job of being a bandit more. He does so, because of the higher chance of pay. He also hates other mages, because his body was scarred up by another Mage.

Metal sword- While he does not use it in combat, he can possibly use it in combat.

  • Fire Magic- He can use fire magic, something most bandits can't do. He has shown rather impressive skills with it, being able to burn down an entire village if he wanted too.
  • Leadership skills- He has shown impressive leadership skills, being able to command the bandits without using fear, saying that loyalty is stronger then fear, because with that way, they don't hide things from you that could kill you.
