A God Am I: According to the legend, one of the reasons he created the Guild Haven is because he thougth of himself as God.
Badass: This is the man who got relegated to legend hundreds of years after his own exploits; and then consider he created an entire dimension with his own magic. That is badassery.
Crapsack World: This is the other reason the Haven Mage created a new world — the real world was becoming corrupted persecution, judgement, massive executions — and thus, he created a new world where people in fear could flear to safety. While this world is not "perfect" and "pure", it is a better option than Earthland.
The Dragonslayer: In one of the documents Jason read about him, he was reputed to have slewn dragons. The Haven Mage has no Dragon Slayer Magic.
Exotic Eye Designs: Judging from his silhouette, the Mage's eyes have a ripple-like pattern which spreads over the eyeballs.
God: One of the many interpretations of the Haven Mage is this. To the Guild Haven, the dimension he created, he technically is God.

Humans Are Bastards: To a certain degree, the Haven Mage seemed to believe that it is very easy for humanity to become corrupted within the world they lived in, and crafted a new world for people who wanted to escape this. So, he's not a full example of this trope, as he hadn't lost faith in humanity.
Posthumous Character: Anything about the Mage in the story comes from his legends; by the time the story has begun, the Mage has been long dead.

Reality Warper: According to legend, the Haven Mage is the one who created the Guild Haven. Please bear in mind, the Guild Haven is like Edolas, it's own mirror dimension to Earthland, and thus has just as much life, and he created it down to the last detail. According to legend anyway.
Shrouded in Myth: While not mentioned as often as he ought to be, this man is probably the biggest mystery in the Dawn series — and no one is addressing it at all.
Super Power Lottery: With the ability to use the Arc of Embodiment to build a new dimension, I think it's fair to say the Haven Mage won the jackpot.

Walking Spoiler: In the same vein as Giselle, the Haven Mage is tied to several events in the story and quite a bit of him cannot be revealed to actual readers without destroying some of the mystery that's to be revealed later.
World's Strongest Man: Many see the Haven Mage as the strongest mage to have ever lived — and creating an entire dimension in legend really lends credibility to this claim.
