Huangxia (黄夏. Kika), referred as the "Land of Never-ending War" (永无止境战争之地. Yǒngwú Zhǐjìng Zhànzhēng Zhīdì) is a land located in Kaishen, known for their chaotic wars and their vast wealth of riches sought after by many merchants around the world. Being a part of the continent that is Kaishen, their natural geography is what separates them from the rest of the world, more so because with the natural geography being inhospitable to only the strongest tribes, in the middle of the land lies forth the fertile plains, of which the people of this land started to cultivate crops. Those people would form one of the first civilizations aside from the people of Bhārata, Huburgal, Hutkaptah and probably Merkava. from this, they started forming their own tribes, sperate from one another, with their status being described as legendary to say the least, due because of how their history is often intertwined with mythology, with historians debating if they even existed or not. Nevertheless, these early founders of those tribes would go on to battle one another until there is only one remaining, with the Qingfeng tribe remaining. The Qingfeng tribe would soon become the ancestor of the first ancient Huangxian Dynasty, referred as the Tianyang Dynasty, however and even to this day, not knows if this particular dynasty actually existed or not.
What followed after the Tianyang Dynasty is a never-ending cycle of dynasties rising and falling, culminating in the fall of the Shu Dynasty, is when the beginnings of the Four Seasons Period began, where states started to become independent and fight one another over land and resources. And all of this is when other factions started to rise, ten of not thousands of men are dying in Huangxia in this meatgrinder of a period, where it looked as though war would rage on. It all changed with the foundation of the first Huangxian imperial dynasty, that called the Zhaoying Dynasty. Originally known as the State of Zhaoying, this dynasty would soon defeat and conquer its rivals, not before forming a dynasty ruled by an emperor. Since then, it has become a standard even, for one dynasty to fall whilst another one rises. A never-ending cycle of war and peace, followed again by another war, this land has become rich due to how the dynasties had managed to collect tribute from states willing to become their vassal in exchange for protection.

History[]
Mythological Founding[]
No one really knows about the times before the era of the first ancient dynasty, but according to historian Gan Shang, the first humans were the children of the deities Shūwén and Jīnxiá, both of them deities of sun and moon. Now that was before the goddess Xiǎo'ér became the moon goddess, and as the two were starting their new project, it is when the god Péngtài asked them about where would these "humans" live, and this actually god them stopping for a moment. Just then, Péngtài asked if he help create this world, to which both Shūwén and Jīnxiá agreed. With humanity now living on this new world, Tiānfù, the chief god, said to his fellow deities about they should now help this new race move to an age where prosperity and good luck reign. Many agreed, except for one deity, Jianghu, who stated that they are gods and believed that humanity must go one without the need of divine intervention. Tensions rose, and the main deities including forty thousand lesser deities ended having to join sides, with a few deities, including Xiǎo'ér, staying neutral.
Thus, with many deities battling each other now, their struggle would soon become known as the Battle of Shanyuan, where deities and their mortal subjects clash each other over who would win for humanity, and this might the reason why so many people fight each other, because their fighting spirit seemed to have spread across, their wrath and screams of death would go on to create a deity known as Shao Xiajiao, a war god born from the cries of dying men and of blood spilled from the battlefield. At last, with Shao Xiajiao unleashed, it brought only chaos once more, with numerous gods fighting against one another, and the only reason why it ended is because the deities decided for a peace (at the expense of Shao Xiajiao's anger), ending the conflict for good, but the damage had been done, with Jianghu dead and the land decimated, Tiānfù proclaimed that the deities must all be responsible for this mess, Jianghu and his followers for creating this conflict, and the rest of the deities that have decided to use this conflict to create a mess.
All in all, the gods decided that they will put aside their differences in creating the first humans, thus the two creator deities, Shūwen and Jīnxiá, would start their perpetrations in creating this world. Shūwen would be in charge of teaching humanity about how to start fires, to play music and to create calligraphy while Jīnxiá would be in charge of teaching the new humans how to grow their own crops and how to hunt. Of course, this doesn't mean that some gods would be happy about this, such is the case for Jianghu, who decided that it would be a good opportunity to manipulate Jīnxiá into fighting her husband Shūwen. This conflict would erupt as the deities know found themselves in war again, this time with Tiānfù proclaiming that with Jianghu managing to make Jīnxiá into joining him, both of them would be punished for their crimes. For Jīnxiá, her body parts are torn to make the various animals and bestiaries, her fingers became the first trees, the blood are the rivers, and her hair would become the grasses. Whilst for Jianghu, his punishment is simple; the beheading and his entire body burned and scattered throughout the cosmos. This punishment would be used a lot in Huangxian history. After this mess, Tiānfù would take it upon himself that he would personally help the new peoples that have settled in this new land, right after the chaos caused by Jianghu. Of course, this is merely a myth, but discoveries did show some technologies that existed far beyond the days of the Tianyang Dynasty. And speaking of the Tianyang Dynasty, when humans first came to Huangxia, they once feared the unpredictable rivers that flood their lands, until one man decided to change all of that.
Human Foundations[]
When the humans first came to Huangxia, they are at first, divided into multiple tribes, which each tribe being led by the strongest of all. Battling one another for supremacy of the newly acquired river, they fought and fought until only the Qingfeng tribe is the last one succeeding. This tribe, descended from the man who would smitten a goddess so much that she choose to remove herself from her divinity to become a human, would rule over the river for what felt like a hundred years, until the river god, angered that the people are using his gift for themselves, decided to flood the homes of the first peoples. At first, the people simply prayed for the river god to stop his rampage, but he wouldn't listen, until a man named Yushi, would take control of the situation.
His predecessors tried many different solutions, some tried to stop the flood by dams, but it didn't work, others tried using buckets and buckets but that also didn't work, and even tried to divert the river to an uncultivated land, which also didn't work. It was the diverting of the river however, that made Yushi interested. Instead of being like his predecessors, he instead decided to use that flood to act as water for their crops, diverting the river to flood the land, building paddies that can be flooded with water, thus he impressed the tribal leader so much he was made the next chief of the tribe.
Tianyang Formations[]
Because Yushi worked hard to divert the river, he died long before the tribal leader is able to make him the next tribal king, and it isn't long until Yushi's son, Yunmeng, would be the one to successfully stop the floods altogether, thus completing his father's work. However, it is because of that, the people would completely omit Yushi's contributions from stopping the floods and was instead regulated as a minor footnote, of which only those who managed to live through the floods know the truth. Yunmeng tried to stop the misinformation that he stopped the flooding, but the desires of the people wanted a hero, and Yunmeng thought, "if the people wanted a hero, then I'll play the hero". With this, Yunmeng would rule as the tribal leader, but Yunmeng can't be tribal leader for so long, and he planned his son, Guanxing, to be his successor. And with Guanxing's ascension as tribal leader, proclaimed the begining of the Tianyang Dynasty, with Yunmeng being declared the first ancestor of the Tianyang. Guanxing would rule as a good King, being the ruler who knows about what the people should desire, and saving them from enemy invaders. Those invaders would form the basis of the Niutou people, but their story is a topic for an another time. After Guanxing, comes his son Chengming, but Chengming didn't last long for three years until Chengming's brother Huoyang took over the throne.
After Huoyang came Shanjing, and after Shanjing came Lingdai. It was in the reign of Lingdai that the Tianyang Dynasty would meet their first enemy (excluding the tribes that still lived in the north) in the form of the Kingdom of the Serpent. A country that worships a serpent god, the Kingdom of the Serpent (abbreviated as KS) saw the Tianyang Dynasty with their worship for divine ancestors as heresy, and fought against the Tianyang. The response was brutal, with Lingdai being able to personally saw the Serpent King himself in magical combat. This campaign would make Lingdai an excellent commander at war and a good administrator in peace. It is during this time that Lingdai would try to centralize the king's authority over the growing noble families. This attempt failed and it ended with Lingdai's assassination by said noble. The noble himself was executed along with his family by Lingdai's successor Zhushao, and it's with Zhushao that something within the Tianyang Dynasty changed.
Back when Lingdai was still in power, he attempted to conquer other lands after his successful campaign against the Kingdom of the Serpent, one of those lands is called Hushan, which would later be called Goguryeo. Lingdai would name this land Hushan meaning "tiger mountain" because of the number of tigers found in Goguryeo's mountains. With Lingdai's death, Zhushao would take considerable time to establish relations with the people of Goguryeo, and it worked. For a while, because Goguryeo would be under attack by a demon army, ravaging the land and had attacked Huangxia itself. Zhushao tried his best defeat the demon army, but he didn't inherited his father's military thinking, and died in combat. The death of Zhushao brought chaos, only with the ascension of Fengmeng, that the chaos only stopped. What won't stop is the incoming demon horde.
Fengmeng learned about what the demon horde lacked, that being the demons relied on their strength, rather than their minds to attack. This gave an advantage for the Tianyang as they are able to ensnare the demon armies into an ambush, after about sixteen times in which ambushing the demon armies proved to be victories, which caused a general named Lansheng attack organize a counterattack with the approval of Fengmeng. Lansheng would be considered a folk hero in which he is the warrior that slayed many demons, this is the instance of Devil Slayer Magic that is known in the writing of Huangxia. With Lansheng's usage of Devil Slayer Magic, it cause much of the Tianyang forces to attack their counterattack against the demons, with Fengmeng himself even praising Lansheng for his skill and prowess against the demons. What Fengmeng didn't realize that Lansheng was able to use Devil Slayer Magic because he learned it from a tome that details the user on how to use this magic. Emboldened by this victorious war against the demons, Lansheng would be granted land that would one day become the territory of the Longshan Dynasty, but that's a story for his future descendants. And at after ten years, Fengmeng passed away, and soon ,his brother, Beihua, became the ruler, but only after five years he would deposed by Fengmeng's son Jisun. Nine more kings have passed until the death of Yangming that his son, Zhenfei, would become the next ruler, and under Zhenfei, is when everything falls apart for the Tianyang Dynasty.
Zhenfei's reign only lasted for a single year until Liushan, the descendant of the Tianyang general Lansheng rebelled against Zhenfei. While Zhenfei is willing to crush this rebellion, what he didn't realize is that when someone like Zhenfei becomes a tyrannical ruler, needless to say, many people are waiting for a reason to rebel against Zhenfei. Signs from the heavens have made it clear that the Tianyang Dynasty has already lost the blessing of the Huangxian deities, and so the people revolted against the Tianyang to join the Longshan. And after one battle in which Zhenfei would be killed, Liushan would proclaim that due to a dream in which he is sitting upon a throne of gold, he would be the successor of the Tianyang Dynasty, to form the Longshan Dynasty.
Nations[]
Xiang Dynasty[]
The Xiang Dynasty (项朝) is the current dynasty ruling in Huangxia. Formed as a state after the fall of the Hao Dynasty, this state is founded by Wu Shang after Tang Zhao sent him away to a far away land in order to curb his ever increasing popularity with thee people. After the war against the five other states over dominion of Huangxia, the state of Xiang would go on to form the Xiang Dynasty, with the Wu family ruling the land. Having fought against five other states, the Xiang Dynasty was able to preserve their ever deceasing strength by gathering many heroes to their side. And by heroes, they meant those who wish to help the people of Huangxia.
Former Nations[]
Tianyang Dynasty[]
The Tianyang Dynasty (天阳朝) is the first ancient dynasty of Huangxia. Before it, there used to be the Qingfeng tribe, and during that time, they had suffered numerous floods from the nearby river at the time. According to legend, when a young engineer named Yunmeng was a member of the Qingfeng tribe, they had already suffered long enough. Taking action against this sort of thing, Yunmeng assembled men that he know are knowledgeable about engineering something that can be used to stop the flood. And while none are able to figure it out, Yunmeng would notice that the floods would move in a specific direction, so he thought "what if I can redirect the flooding for the people". And so, he created a series of canals to redirect the floods in order to flood the fields. Seeing this, the chief of the Qingfeng tribe made him the leader of said tribe. After the death of Yunmeng, his son, Guanxing, would rule the tribe, thereby naming it the Tianyang Dynasty. For over twenty kings, they ruled, until the last king, Zhenfei, came into power. Zhenfei was a cruel ruler, often executing those that sought to plot against him, asked for impossible quotas of food which lead to the starvation of many, and he would go as far as to proclaim himself that he is more superior than any other deity. Seeing this, the "Heavenly Father" saw that this dynasty needed to go, and in a dream that he sent to one Liushan, who would then lead a rebellion against the tyrant Zhenfei. Liushan would won in this battle, and with the support of the people, proclaimed that the Tianyang Dynasty must fall, in order for the next Dynasty to rise.
Longshan Dynasty[]
With the fall of the Tianyang Dynasty, this new dynasty, the Longshan Dynasty (龙山朝) became the next dynasty to rule Huangxia. As Liushan took over the Tianyang peoples, he would rule wisely, being able to gain the support of the people once more. With this, he is able to die knowing that he made the lives of the common folk a little bit less worst. It is this dynasty that archeological evidence of this particular dynasty existed, because of the oracle bones that have been left. And that's not even leaving the various bronze tools, ranging from plows to spear tips, this dynasty has been noted that it existed during a long forgotten time known as the Earthland Bronze Age. This dynasty has ended with the tyrant king Weiyuan of Longshan. Just like Zhenfei, Weiyuan is a terrible king, using his authority to execute men who had disagreed with him, and even commissioned the builders to construct the first park where meat hangs on the trees while the river is filled with wine. Seeing that the Longshan Dynasty became corrupted (once again), the heavens have decided that the Longshan Dynasty had lost the favour of the deities, and thus peasant rebellions have occurred.
Shu Dynasty[]
The foundation of the Shu Dynasty (蜀朝) can be placed with a noble named Yangchen, who led a rebellion with the support of the already suffering populace in order to overthrow the last Longshan king, thus bringing an end to Weiyuan. With the Shu Dynasty now established, Yangchen decided to rule for about four years, until he was assassinated by a loyalist to the defunct Longshan. This assassination would go on the trigger a rebellion in which the Shu Dynasty must fight against the remaining Longshan nobility, seeing this new dynasty was weak. The rebellion failed, and this would become a pivotal point as the next ruler, Huazhong, as he would become known as King Zhou of Shu. As king, Zhou of Shu would start to centralize his authority by reducing the nobles power and by solidifying control. By the reign of King Feng of Shu however, is when everything went to hell, as with his death in the disaster that is the Huiyue Campaign, the Shu Dynasty would start their period of collapse.
It didn't take long until the nobility realized that they would effectively take over their own lands and settle old scores, and soon, many nobles would declare themselves independent from the Shu, with the next king being Guang of Shu. Despite Guang's effort to stabilize the country, the nation would fall into an era known as the Four Seasons Period, where states governed by families fought against each other and for their independence. One such state, being the Zhaoying, took the opportunity to conquer the rest of the states that have remained, this forming the first imperial Huangxian dynasty.
Zhaoying Dynasty[]
As the other states started to fall under the full might of the Zhaoying Dynasty (赵英朝), the unifier, Zhaoying Shi Huang, would proceed to make considerable efforts in order to stabilize the country. Firstly, he would employ officials are based on their merits, began projects that would help the country like building the canals that can flood the fields for more food, and to break the entrenched family linages in order to colonize the untamed west. Secondly, he would began an age of conquest outside of the borders of the Zhaoying, first by attacking the Lóngshé Tribes under the general Lan Zhuang. That invasion however simply costed the empire their economy.
Due in part of the repeated invasions that ended in disaster, when the forth emperor came into power, a rebellion erupted between three warlords, their surnames being Liu, Cao, and Sun. The Zhaoying Dynasty isn't well prepared for anything like this, and so it collapsed under the rebels, which immediately fallen into more chaos until a man named Chen Yu came into power. By defeating the other three warlords, he would establish the Yucheng Dynasty, named after the Yucheng River.
Yucheng Dynasty[]
With the fall of the Zhaoying Dynasty, the Yucheng Dynasty (禹城朝) would be formed from the ashes of what is left of the Zhaoying, rising to be a great power in Huangxia. Founded by Chen Yu, he used the Yucheng River as the basis of which to form his dynasty, situated his capital around the Yucheng River would gain this dynasty the nickname "River Country" because of how Chen Yu named his dynasty after a river and because of Chen Yu's prowess with water magic. It is during the reign of the Yucheng Dynasty that a golden age would hit Huangxia, as the Yucheng Dynasty would experience great achievements in the form of new, promising technologies and great economical growth. It is because of the Yucheng Dynasty that the name "Huangxia" would be granted to this land. The Yucheng Dynasty was about to be briefly interrupted by an upstart regent who was creating his own cult of personality, but he failed when Emperor Yang realized what he is doing and stopped the regent's plans.
The regent and his cult of personality however, showed the Yucheng Dynasty about their weakness in letting their officials becoming a little too into Kai Fujian, as his writing are what influenced the regent into believing that life in the Shu Dynasty is better and that everything has gone downhill every since. More of his plans are becoming more concerning for the Yucheng Dynasty, and it didn't take long until at first being okay with Shēnism into a outright hatred, burning many of the book just like their predecessor the Zhaoying Dynasty had done. Fortunately, the next emperor realized that the man himself is to blame, not the philosophy, so he managed to prevent any burning of Shēnist books, but the Shēnist scholars are probably scared out of their wits by now.
The Yucheng Dynasty lasted for about over four hundred years, and while it lasted for a very long time, it didn't take long until everything can go wrong. Firstly, natural disasters started to prop up around the empire, from famines to the north or even a flood at the south. The second involved a lot of corruption from government, because the eunuchs started to take in bribes and installing more younger emperors at the throne. And to make things more terrible, the people are starting to suffer, from the peasants to even the wealthy, they started to suffer from the corruption of the Yucheng Dynasty, a sign from heaven basically says that the Yucheng Dynasty has lost their right to rule, thus a rebellion occured.
Jinchuan Dynasty[]
After the Yucheng Dynasty started to become more corrupt, it's clear that the Yucheng Dynasty has lost the right to rule, thus a rebellion happens and one warlord era later, the Jinchuan Dynasty (金川朝) became the next dynasty. Ruling this dynasty is the Song Family, having gained power though assassinations, treachery and lots of bribery, the Song Family formed the Jinchuan Dynasty. While the first seven emperors became the best that was to come since years of war have worn out the people, after the death of the seventh emperor, is when everything starts to collapse.
When the seventh emperor died to a heart attack, the next emperor turned out to be intellectually disabled, which led power to be in the hands of the empress, who increasingly became more authoritarian in nature. Seeking the end of the Jinchuan Dynasty after the decimation of her clan, the empress would see to it that though various plots and schemes, many of the potential heirs and family members of the Song Family are removed from power or are assassinated. Without any competition, she would convince the Imperial Court to declare her son to be next emperor, just in case the eighth emperor died. However, one of the generals noticed that these deaths are not a coincidence, because they all target the Song family, so the general took his time to start investigating the deaths, and it didn't take long until he learned that the Song family are all killed by the empress. Using that opportunity, he accused the empress of using her poison, knife, and wind magic to kill most of the Song family, and taking that initiative, he revealed to everyone by presenting the evidence that all of this is caused by the empress. With this evidence, it didn't take long until the empress is disposed and killed, with the general named Dian Ying taking control, and for a while, he managed to succeed in keeping the Jinchuan Dynasty from collapsing, but alas, after his death from an assassin (possibly from a noble who Dian Ying had an affair with his wife), the Jinchuan Dynasty would soon show signs of collapse.
It started small, with the Jinchuan Dynasty suffering from a disease, then natural disasters started to appear, and before long, it has already become clear that the Jinchuan Dynasty no longer holds heaven's favor, thus giving the people a very good reason to rebel against the Jinchuan Dynasty. With it's fall however, regional warlords would take it upon themselves to conquer each and carve out their own domains.
Yelang Dynasty[]
When the Jinchuan Dynasty started to show signs of collapse, there began an era known as the Fallen Heavens Era, known as such because many states formed from the chaos of the Jinchuan Dynasty which is similar to the Four Seasons Period. First of the states that would become the next dynasty is the Yelang Dynasty (夜郎朝), created by Huyan Cheng. Gaining the power of the people against minor warlords of the era, Huyan Cheng would embark himself in an age of conquest, taking down his rivals and formed the Yelang Dynasty. Huyan Cheng would be the first emperor of the Yelang Dynasty, taking the capital of Yueming, the former Jinchuan Dynasty as his own and even managing to take control of some of the former Jinchuan strongholds (which by now had been abandoned or been used by bandit groups), yet secretly, Huyan Cheng wished for more, and so, he engaged himself in a war against the Xingqiu Tribes to his west, an act would lead to his death.
What Huyan Cheng didn't realize however, is that the Xingqiu tribes had already formed a coalition against the approaching Yelang forces, and so, they lured Huyan Cheng into an ambush, killing him and his army. A message was sent to the remaining Yelang forces and it is already clear: Leave the Xingqiu alone. Taking that as a warning, Huyan Cheng's son, Huyan Anguo, choose to cut the Yelang's loss and leave the Xingqiu territory. Once he got back, news of his father's death reached back to Yueming, suffice to say, there was a nationwide mourning, and now, Huyan Anguo is made the successor of the Yelang Dynasty.
