Kirins are the strongest of the Four Sacred Races, which are four races with unknown origins who are revered as gods. Earth Land residents view them as a reclusive race that only appear in lands ruled by a benevolent ruler.
History[]
The kirin as with the other three sacred races are secretly descended from Chastity whom they refer to as the Pure Mother. It all began when the Pure Mother was suddenly pregnant with quadruplets. The kirin primordial alongside their siblings were born long before the creation of Commandment as a result of a virgin birth when Chastity's power subconsciously created living manifestations of her ideals through a similar process to the creation of magic power. The kirin primordial specifically was conceived from her hatred of destruction and how she values peace. Once they were born the kirin primordial was raised in secret by their mother alongside their three siblings in peace. From what the quadruplets have said to their descendants the four appeared to have a wonderful childhood and once they were adults left to explore the world allowing Chastity to resume her duties. Before the four children separated they promised to keep their origins a secret to prevent Chastity's religion from growing which they knew their mother would not like.
As the millenniums passed the kirin population gradually grew as the kirin primordial had children, their children had children, and so on. The secretive nature of kirin alongside their lifestyle and habits eventually led to the false belief that kirin are spontaneously created in lands ruled by benevolent rulers. Eventually the population of the kirin race became to high to maintain their secretive lifestyle and so the kirin primordial reunited with their siblings used a powerful Unison Raid spell to create a whole new realm and named it Lychnus after their mother's last name. This world would later would serve as the home for the sacred races. While most of the other sacred races stayed in Lychnus, the kirin maintained their tradition by allowing a handful of kirin to stay in Earth Land to aid in rulers they deem worthy. This makes the race one of only two sacred races to call both Earth Land and Lychnus with the other race being centaurs.
Appearance[]
Although kirins can take a human form they usually prefer to stay in their true form. They are depicted as creatures who look like unicorns, but with an ox's tail, a lion's mane, and dragon scales in place of fur. The latter difference leading people to mistake them as a subspecies of dragons. Except for the primordial kirin all kirin remain around the size of a horse when in their true form.
Biology[]
Secretly descended from a primordial, kirins have more in common with gods specifically titans than they do with dragons despite their appearance. Having a similar biology to a titan and having composed almost entirely of Lychnus particles has granted kirins exceptional physical and mental abilities though due to a kirin's innate pacifism their physical abilities is a boon often forgotten.
The lychnus particles that compose the body of a kirin is also the source of many of their most famous natural abilities such as the ability to walk on grass without harming or even leaving a footprint.
Magical Abilities[]
Kirin Magic[]
Kirin Magic is a type of Caster Magic, Elemental Magic, and Lost Magic exclusive to kirins and it serves as a kirin's primary magic and it first appeared in kirins following the creation of Commandment. It revolves around the generation and use of kirin elements. It is a magic that all kirins are born with and develops as their body develops.
A kirin's body is constantly purifying the area around it. Drawing in the curse power and Magical Barrier Particles around them and converting it into Lychnus Particles before storing it in the body. When there is no curse power or Magical Barrier Particles present a kirin's body will instead passively create these particles though in an inferior state. Kirin Magic is a magic that allows the kirin to merge their unique brand of Lychnus particles with their magic power to create their respective kirin element. This process and its outcome is why Kirin Magic is often compared to Devil Slayer Magic. Just as Devil Slayer Magic can be seen as a magic that imitates curses Kirin Magic is an imitation of Commandments using the medium of magic. This is why just like how some falsely call Devil Slayer Magic the Devil Slayer Curse some falsely call Kirin Magic the Kirin Commandment.
White Arts[]
Kirins are known to have an innate talent for White Arts with all kirins being limited to the cosmic type White Art much like the being who gave birth to the race. All kirins appear to have the ability to use Blessing Magic from birth with their skill being great enough to grant others very potent blessings that can last a very long time.
Weaknesses[]
Kirins essentially possess absolute immortality. Their divine nature blesses them with an unending lifespan and eternal youth making them unable to die from diseases or other harmful effects relating to aging. Furthermore, due to what specifically conceived the kirin primordial the race is immune to all forms of destruction and violence. These two things combined mean that it is absolutely impossible to kill or harm kirins in most scenarios. That doesn't mean they don't have weaknesses though. A kirin can be sealing away and more importantly kirins have an extreme aversion to violence and destruction and will only fight back when angered. This doesn't just mean that the thought of violence makes them sick, but also the very act of going on the offensive can weaken a kirin. Kirins are normally invincible, but if they attack or destroy for too long they will gradually weaken themselves until anything can kill them. Kirins can regain their lost strength after fighting, but it normally takes a month to return to full strength. The downside of this however is that it means an enemy has the option of retreating allowing an enemy to slowly weaken a kirin over the course of a month then kill them.
Kirins are also incapable of eating meat forcing all members of the species into adopting a vegan diet. The body in fact treats the attempt of eating meat as a violent act, which is why kirins get very sick and weak whenever they so much as think about eating meat.

Relationship with Chastity[]
Just like with the other sacred races kirins do not worship Chastity as a goddess. Knowing how much their mother hates being worshiped the kirin primordial made sure their descendants respect Chastity in the same way one may respect their mother. While this is the case for all of the sacred races the kirin race stands out for how they are more respectful than the other three.
Relationship with Azoth[]
Considering kirins' peaceful nature they have started to be viewed as the Azoth's sacred creature by many people. The truth is not that far from what the public believes. They do serve Azoth and they do hold Azoth is very high regard because of her pacifistic believes. The difference between truth and public opinion is that they do not serve Azoth directly. They only serve her because Chastity serves her and they respect Chastity as their mother.
