Lunar Forthcoming (今後月, Kongōtsuki) is considered to be the one of the most powerful elemental magics in the Heroic Chronicles series, utilizing various types for utmost effectiveness; as the title would imply, this magic is based around the movements of the moon — making it the polar opposite of its counterpart. It's alternatively known as Moon Phase Magic (月齢魔法, Getsurei Mahō) — focusing the fluctuations of power that come with each phase of the moon. Typically, it's counted as a member of the Ancient Magics of the Thirteen Otherworldly Virtues — aspects of the Supreme God himself, representing the Moon (月, Tsuki).

A high-level Caster Magic and an Ancient Spell — predating nearly all other forms of magic outside its group, it's considered to be a Subspecies Magic — utilizing various elements, such as Darkness Magic, Light Magic, and Water Magic for functionality; it's current user is Luna Alighieri, a mysterious young maiden who's into the occult and known for her studies and mastery of various forms of the Black Arts. Her subsequent usage, understanding, and mastery of this magic led to her epithet, "Black Spiritual Maiden of the Lunar Illumination" (月照明の黒霊女, Tsukishomei no Kuro Reijo).

"The moon... it's so beautiful. It shines so brightly, ruling the starry sky as if it were its rightful owner; it's like the sun in this matter. Using its ray of light it bends all elements below to its whim, causing it to swift and sway ever so casually. Interestingly enough, it can be seen as a gateway of sorts for spiritual entities and the like, which is the main reason its worshiped. I guess the moon has chosen me to be its medium to contact humanity."
— Luna contemplating her newfound "gift" she unlocked in her younger years.
