Otherworldly Eidolon Possession (別世界幻獣占領, Bessekai Genjū Senryō) is something that's truly eldritch in nature and a magical form that's truly feared by the general populace; it's said that those who are in possession of this magic are those who have been "spirited away" by a malignant force, only to return to the mortal realm in another form. It's a variant of Take Over — thus also a form of Caster Magic and an advanced form of Transformation. However, this is eclipsed by its status as a style of the infamous Black Arts — known for its gruesome effects on not only the target, but those who utilize it, something it shares with its demonic counterpart. When ranked, this form is classified as a "Intermediate Take Over" (接収の実質的方式(インターメディェイト・テイク・オーバー), Intāmedieito Teiku Ōbā; lit. "Substantial Method of Confiscation").

Like all other forms of Take Over, it's referenced by its given name as well just for the sake of convenience; in this case, it's also well-known as Take Over: Quiddity Soul (接収・不気味異界平面の幽鬼(テイク・オーバー・クイディティ・ソウル), Teiku Ōbā: Kuiditi Sōru; lit. "Confiscation: Departed Souls of the Ominous Underworld Plane") — denoting to its tenebrous nature amongst its kin. Interestingly enough, the beings this form of Take Over focuses on is rather.... limited. As the name and theme of this variant follows, it allows the user to essentially "take over" all known spirits; however, it's restricted to spirits or spiritual entities of a malignant nature. This would mean that the magic is more potent against Wraiths, Ashuras, and "corrupted" summons, such as Eclipsed Celestial Spirits and the like. It seems to have less effects on normal spirits, but still plausible for compatibility.

Due to it being marked as a Forbidden Magic by the Magic Council, there are very little users of this form. The only recorded user is the infamous Dark Mage and S-Class criminal, Aleister Kuroma; combined with his ingenious usage of Zombie Magic, he's seen as one of the most dangerous forces that Ishgar has ever conceived — so much so that he's wanted dead or alive for simply possessing the two magics.

Trivia[]

  • This magic is considered to be a rare form of Spirit Soul created by Per. The author decided to focus it on a certain type of spirits because he believed that it would be more interesting in this manner and that it would be a good excuse to classify it as a form of the Black Arts, something he's kinda into right now.
  • No, the Patronus Charm won't work on this Take Over.
