Raran (ララン Raran) is a humanoid Magical Wolf and a Mage of the Burning Catarina Guild in Egalia. He partners up with his best friend and companion Ryubara.

Personality[]
Raran is a usually calm and collected individual who is often at the bare brute of Ryubara's goofy antics. During their job in the Kanestsu Ridge; it was also shown that past Raran's cool composure, he can also have fun and goof off like anyone else. He has also demonstrated signs of bovinophobia, an irrational fear of cows; shown when he had to defeat the Minotaur, he was shown cowering in fear while Ryubara fought the beast. He eventually overcame his fear and defeated the monster and received the reward.

Raran and Ryubara in their sidestory: Enter Team Coyote Sand
Raran and Ryubara are both members of the Burning Catarina Guild and make up it's Team Coyote Sand and even have their own side story in Fairy Tail: Adventures in Egalia: Enter Team Coyote Sand. The two are noted to be two of the most compatable members of the guild and have demonstrated that the two are very friendly. They act like brothers and seem to have known each other since childhood and often have comedic fights.

Raran's Light Magic.
Light Magic (光の魔法 Hikari no Mahō): Raran uses a form of Holder Magic Light Magic which involves the use of his magic sword Asolear. He is able to create powerful light blasts and shields with his sword, he can release a large amount of light from his sword that can blind foes as well as causing damage.
- Blinding Light (盲検光 Mekura Ken Hikari): Raran stabs his sword into the ground and the lacrima embedded in it glows with a bright light and them emits a powerful, blinding wave of yellow light from the entire sword, temporarily blinding the target.
Expert Swordsmanship: Along with his powerful magical abilities; Raran is a capable swordsman, shown being able to cut distant objects with air pressure from his sword.

Weapons and Items[]
Asolear (麻生リアー Asouriā, Spanish for Sun): A Magic Sword which grants Raran the ability to cast Light Magic through the usage of several orange Magic Lacrima embedded within the guard of the sword. It has a long, relatively thin blade and the hilt wrapping is orange. He keeps it sheathed horizontally on his lower back.
