Passing The Torch

"Mother gave me this mask. She told me to put it on whenever I got lonely so that I will never forget who I am or where I come from."
— Shiro

Shiro Kitsune (白狐, White Fox) is a young man born from the union between a fox demon and a human lord, raised solely by his mother and inheriting her Burning Curse, he has always been interested in his human side. Having lived the greater majority of his short life among other demons, the prospect of learning more about humans intrigued him more than anything. This is why, despite his mother's disapproval, he decided to leave his home and live amongst the humans in hopes of gaining a better understanding of the world his father came from. With great curiosity and enthusiasm, he sat off on his journey, eventually coming to Koma Inu where he now resides as a mage under the wing of its guild master, Samarra Inari.

After the Grand Magic Games in x805, Koma would come out on top and the title of guild master would be granted to Shiro after Samarra's decision to retire after serving the guild as its first master for over eighteen years. Passing the torch onto Shiro who promised to wear the title with pride in the guild his master had created and continue to do his best to see the gift Samarra had given to the mages of Ishgar would continue to flourish into something even greater.

Appearance[]

Shiro is a handsome young man standing at exactly five foot eight inches tall. His hair his ivory in color, short and shaggy on top of his head. It is naturally straight with a slight sheen to it with bangs that hang down into his face. His head is heart shaped and his features are often described as baby-faced, a natural look of innocence that some might call charming or cute to some degree. His cheeks still contain some baby fat, making them soft and arguably pinchable. His eyes are almond shaped, iris' being gold in color often containing an obvious look of curiosity and wonder until they fall upon another person, at which point they are known to display a warm and gentle kindness that can only come from someone with no true experience of the world, adding to his child-like nature that some find endearing and that others find insufferable both out of pure bitterness or out of genuine concern for his wellbeing. The nose that sits comfortably between his eyes in the middle of his face is small and hardly noticeable, being slightly upturned and can often be seen twitching as he uses his enhanced sense of smell to help him keep tabs on his environment. His lips are pale and thin, often pulled upwards into an inviting closed mouth smile. Behind his lips set two rows of white teeth, all appearing quite normal aside from his larger canine teeth, a trait he inherited from his mother and something he is quite proud of, the teeth being one of only a few parts of his demonic side that he can show without getting weird or concerned looks from others. As foxes share many similarities with cats, Shiro's tongue is long and very sensitive, possessing many small rough spines and being able to taste scents in their air undetectable by humans. The sensitive spines making it so that he enjoys having things in his mouth such as gum or other appropriate chewing items. His ears appear to be that of a human, often twitching similar to how his nose does as his enhanced hearing allows him to hear other conversations fairly easily, his curiosity overriding his better judgment which often leads to scoldings about eavesdropping on others conversations.

Shiro possesses a mesomorphic body type with well-rounded proportions and a relatively lean body. His skin is a bit paler than most, being very smooth and devoid of any scars or blemishes that might detract from what some might even describe as a somewhat feminine beauty that is only lost when one notices his muscular frame, having well developed muscles throughout the entirety of his body from head to toe. His abdomen containing a thin layer of fat that covers up what would be a set of fully developed abs is something he cares little of, preferring the warmth it provides over the approving looks that having a six pack gave him at one point. His arms appear rather thin, but most this once again matters little to him as his true strength lies in his demonic powers and abilities, gifting him strength and speed above that of the average human without the need for an incredibly muscular body, the only purpose for such a trait being to attract a mate, a task he feels he is not quite ready for as his understanding of humans is still incomplete and thus so is his knowledge of himself.

Shiro Partial demon form

Shiro's partial Demonic transformation

In terms of clothing, Shiro prefers to keep to a somewhat casual look with a tee shirt underneath a white button up which often remains unbuttoned, a pair of either green or blue cargo pants and a pair of sandals, not personally liking tennis shoes if all he is going to do is walk around. However, if entering a prearranged fight, he will often switch into them to protect his feet. Otherwise, he will walk around in his sandals and sometimes no shoes at all, especially if they are in the woods or near the beach where he enjoys the feelings of the dirt and sand between his toes. He doesn't care much for what others think of his appearance so long as he feels comfortable in what he is wearing. While it is impossible for him to take on a full demonic transformation without the usage of his mask thanks to his half-human blood, he can undergo a partial transformation that allows him to keep a humanoid form while taking on aspects of his demonic parent, growing fox ears and several long tails. While he can enter this form at any time, it often activates when using his curse or when he feels strong negative feelings.

After spending a few years among the mages of Koma Inu, Shiro decided that it was time to begin looking the part as he abandoned his messy and arguably childish look to take on a more mature one. Shiro now dawns a rust red and tan leather jacket above a black tee shirt with a pair of brownish colored cargo pants complete with a pair of ankle height boots. A pair of tan, fingerless gloves covering his hands. It was not only Shiro style that changed about his appearance but his physical features as well, becoming more mature in appearance with the development of more defined and toned muscles as well as the loss of baby fat on his cheeks giving him a more adult look than he previously had which transformed him from the cute and loveable guild master in training to a strong, handsome, and respectable man ready to lead whenever the time comes for him to do so.

Personality[]

Human Demon Mask BD1

The first word that would normally pop into someone's head upon first meeting Shiro would most likely be the word "odd". It has become a bit of a trademark for Shiro so to speak, he is an odd man to be sure. His actions normally mirroring those of someone who has spent their entire life with a blindfold over their eyes only to have it uncovered for them one day. His curious nature often leads him into places he shouldn't be in and it isn't rare for him to get scolded for his misadventures. He speaks like someone who is seeing the world for the first time and is excited at the prospect of exploring it and this is because to him that is exactly what has happened, living his entire life among other demons at a shrine deep in the mountains of northern Fiore where he had little contact with humans and thus never having a chance to learn anything about his human side until he reached an age in which he was old enough to leave his home and explore the world. It is for this reason that Shiro looks at everything as if he is looking at if for the first time, because chances are that he is. His child-like innocence is often seen as endearing, his young appearance helping to make this all the more convincing to those around him. Even so, his ignorance about the human world does not mean he is ignorant about all things, having a fair knowledge of history and vast knowledge of demons and their culture. This normally adds to the oddity of the man named Shiro, speaking so freely of the monsters that many fear or simply believe to be fairy tales as if they are something as common as walking past someone on a busy street. Regardless of how strange others find him, this is often overshadowed and overlooked due to the great kindness he shows to all he meets, his gentle and innocent nature being the most prominent of all his traits and are often the ones they remember most about him.

Shiro's confliction

Despite his cheerful and fun appearance, deep inside of Shiro a storm brews as he seeks to understand himself and what exactly he is. Growing up knowing nothing of his father or the human side of his existence has pained him greatly and is something he resents his mother for hiding from him for so long. He sits between the two worlds of human and demon with no idea if he belongs in one or the other or if he belongs in neither. Living as the union between two creatures that fear and hate one another is difficult and weighs heavily on his mind, even more so now that he has had the chance to experience the world from both sides. Feeling truly divided in two and conflicted about who and what it is that he wishes to be. Knowing that choosing one means rejecting the other makes it all the more difficult as he walks the tightrope that balances him between the two worlds which he wants to lose neither of. Regardless of his confliction, he is proud of both sides of himself, feeling pride in his demonic abilities and in the human friends he has made since starting his journey of self-discovery.

After a few years of training under Samarra, Shiro grew in many ways. No longer was he as ignorant of the world as he once was, gaining a much greater knowledge of human society and their history and growing into a much more mature young man. However, despite his behavioral changes many of Shiro's ideas remained firm, believing in and often appealing to the inherent goodness of others, choosing to believe that no one is truly evil beyond rehabilitation as the world is simply filled with people with their own thoughts and ideas whose life experiences and choices make them who they are and as such a few wrong choices can easily lead to an obscured outlook on the world and thus ones dive into the darkness. Shiro is an empathetic individual who tries his hardest to feel and understand the thoughts and actions of those around him in hopes of forming stronger and more connected bonds with his friends and guild mates as he prepares himself for his eventual role as master of Koma Inu.

As he grew into maturity his more mature personality traits began to show in the form of his protective nature of those he cares for. Foxes often being known as solitary creatures, only being caring and protective of family and those they deem close to them such as mates but in Shiro's case as this instinctual drive is mixed with humans own need for social interaction it extends to all those which he considers friends. The closer he is to people the more caring and protective he becomes, the forming and maintaining of meaningful bonds being part of the many lessons taught to him during his time with Samarra and this often shows when this trait manifests inside him. This, of course, makes his feelings for others nearly impossible to hide, meaning that those he likes and dislikes are often very aware of his feelings toward them.

History[]

A Child Is Born[]

Young Shiro Kitsune

Shiro was born in the year x782 as the son that resulted from the union of an Demon and a human. His mother, Tuskiko, falling in love with a member of a noble family who was visiting the small village in which Tsikiko resided. Approaching the human, Tsukiko used her natural charm to woo the nobleman into falling for her. After spending several years together the nobleman marries Tsukiko and a child is conceived. Wishing to share everything with her husband she tells him of her true self only a few brief days after the child is born. Hearing of this, the noble feels betrayed, seduced, and lured into marrying a demon. In his anger, he attacks the child born from what he believes to have been born from and unholy union, the enraged mother killing her husband but not before the damage could be done and the child was stabbed, only being saved by his mother's curse power.

Cross Roads[]

Shiro was raised by his mother far from other humans in a shrine dedicated to her as the result of the locals confusing her for a moon Goddess. His only exposure to humans being the prayers heard from locals who visited the shrine to give offerings to the Goddess which is also where he got most of the food he spent his childhood eating while being raised around other demons. He was never told of his father, not who he was or what happened to him but his mother would always tell him stories about how cruel and evil humans were. Shiro himself never witnessed anything like what the stories she spoke of said about humans, the maidens, priests, and others who visited the shrine never seeing anything like the evil creatures his mother spoke of with so much disgust and hate. It was eventually revealed to him that he was only part demon as the answer to why it was he couldn't take on a full demon form like his mother without help from her own curse powers. This revelation of his human side made the young body all the more curious about what humans were like. At the age of seventeen, he made the choice to set off on his own to discover more about his human side and what it meant to be like them. Despite his mother's warnings and outrage at the idea he knew he would never be happy living as while only knowing one side of the world he was born into and thus, decided to leave the shrine and travel to Fiore.

A Path Toward The Future[]

Less than one full year after leaving his home to travel in search of answers to his questions about humans he did his best to blend in with others, taking on several small jobs within the city of Crocus before meeting a woman who would change his life for the better. One day, while walking the market district of Crocus he would come upon a beautiful young woman with whom he would have a long conversation with that day regarding magic and mages. The woman eventually revealing that she was the guild master of the largest guild in Ishgar, Koma Inu. When their conversation came to a close, Shiro's mind was reeling with everything she'd told him, the woman leaving a lasting impression on the boy who would leave Fiore and travel to Onibus only a few weeks later to join that same guild. After telling Samarra how much their conversation had influenced him she would take the young man under her wing where he would learn the basics of many subjects, ranging from fighting to intellectual studies before Samarra eventually decided to make Shiro her assistant and guild master in training. His training would take five years and after Koma Inu's victory in the x805 Grand Magic Games, Samarra would retire from her position as guild master and allow Shiro to take the seat as the guild's second master.

Equipment[]

Shiro Sword BD1

Foxfang: Shiro's signature weapon, a gift from Samarra after three years of his apprenticeship. The blade of the weapon is twenty inches (50 cm) with the full length of the sword measuring in at twenty-four inches (61 cm). The blade itself is double-edged and was forged with the materials of silver inlaid into steel, allowing it to keep its conductive properties while maintaining the strength of steel and avoiding silvers neigh-inability to hold an edge as well as traditional metals such as steel and Iron. The cross guard and pommel remain made of steel with a golden rod running through the handle directly into the sword to allow Shiro to send electricity into his sword via his voltage curse, allowing for an added effect which can shock and paralyze foes either through direct contact or by allowing electricity to flow through his opponent's weaponry.

Shiro Shield BD1

Moonshard: Moonshard is a Parma shield designed and purchased by Shiro after receiving his Foxfang as a gift from his master. The shield is 36 inches (91 cm) and weighs in at 20 pounds (9 kg). The shield is small, made of wood coated in iron the shield is blunt with a sharp edge as it is meant to be used as both a defensive and offensive piece of equipment. Shiro can bash opponents with his shield, pushing them back or stunning them long enough for him to attack. As the shield is coated in iron, Shiro can run his electricity through it, creating a magnetic field to repel or attract objects. This also allows him to throw his shield, calling it back whenever he pleases.

Powers & Abilities[]

Physical Abilities[]

Intellect: At the age of seventeen one might have easily called Shiro a bit of a dunce, having no real knowledge of anything in particular aside from the few survival skills taught to him by his mother. His educational range being that of someone attending grade school despite being someone of high school age and as such those who met him would not be at fault for believing that he was a "special" kid. However, spending a few years under the wing of the genius known as Samarra Inari saw to it that Shiro's knowledge of all things improved drastically as he was certainly one with the mindset and want to learn but until meeting the flash tactician did not have the means to do so. Under the tutelage of Samarra, Shiro learned a variety of skills ranging from those in stem fields as well as basic skills and knowledge that would help him survive once he was placed in the world to fend for himself. Thanks to the help of Koma Inu's guild master Shiro was able to grow from an IQ of 94 to 136 over the several years the two studied.

Charisma: As a young man people often found his innocence to a very endearing trait but now that he is grown the majority of that sense of innocence has been replaced with a sense of purpose and duty. His charismatic personality is now found in his kindness and respect towards others, both friend and foe will equally be greeted with a smile on his face as he believes that all are deserving of respect until they've lost it, having a trusting personality but never letting it go so far as to become a fault. Even as a young man his silver tongue was often commented on, being someone with a way with words that make his speeches flow like poetry. This effect is most likely due to his demonic abilities which gives him a boost to his influence over those who hear his voice, making him great at negotiation and at calming others down. Regardless of this ability, the leader-like skills he has developed are his own and not the result of his demonic powers as he has spent the great majority of his time at the guild doing his best to gain the respect of his guildmates in hopes that they will see him as a fellow friend.

Enhanced Senses: Due to his demon physiology being that of a fox. Shiro possesses several physiological changes to his body that makes him superior to that of his human counterparts. His fox eyes allow him to see clearly in low-light areas, the effects of darkness meaning little to the predatory fox whose eyes possess far more rods in their eyes than that of humans which allow them to absorb more light and see clearer in the night. Not only is it his eyes but his sense of hearing and smell are more acute than that of humans which allow him to hear and smell things often missed by others, detecting pheromones in the air. The ability to do this gives him an edge in conversations and negotiations, allowing him to tell what others are feeling based on the pheromones given off by those he is around which makes it all but impossible for others to lie to him. Foxes are some of the very few creatures that can use the magnetic field of the earth to judge distance, Shiro is no different as this ability allows him to quickly judge the distance of jumps, hopping onto his prey like his animal cousins.

Muscular Strength and Endurance: Shiro's strength is equal to that of a well-built man twice his own size using his own natural strength. His demonic physiology giving him a slight edge over others of his same own muscle mass. His muscular strength allowing him to lift objects around five hundred and fifty pounds at max, only being able to hold this weight for a few moments at best when he begins pumping his magical energy into his muscles, an ability possessed by all mages which gives them slightly higher physical limits than that of none magic using humans. His muscular endurance allows him to lift objects around the three hundred pound range for around two and a half minutes before beginning to strain himself.

Speed and Reflexes: As a fox demon, a creature known for its quick and swift movements. His inhuman muscles allow him to run at approximately 62 mph (90 ft/s) in his human form which can further be boosted by enhancing his muscles with anti-magic barrier particles to push him to up to 74 mph (108 ft/s) which allows him to cover the distance of arenas and stadiums rather quickly. However, this speed can only be maintained for a short period of time, running at full speed for just under fifteen seconds before needing a break. This is a rare case in which his fox ancestry makes him weaker than that of humans as humans are some of the best distance runners in the animal kingdom which allows them to run further even if they have to do so slowly. This is an ability Shiro lacks, thus making him all but useless in a test of distance running. While he may not be able to keep up with humans for long his reflexes are far sharper, turning on a dime with little effort even at full speed and having neigh-perfect control over his center of gravity which gives him an air of grace in battle, often landing on his feet or hands regardless of how he falls or is thrown.

Durability: Shiro's physical durability comes from years of hard training in hand to hand combat with his master and adopted older sister, Samarra Inari. Who, like she said before beginning his training in the art of Ki no Michi, did not hold back in teaching him the discipline of the art through brutal but necessary training that has built his body to be one of strength, dexterity, and durability, allowing him to take and dish out heavy and brutal physical attacks without risking great harm to himself. However, he is only human and as such chokes, holds, and other submissions based attacks in martial arts are just as effective on him as they would be any normal human. His magical durability, however, comes from his demonic physiology, being greatly resistant to magical attacks which often means that a strong hand to hand combatant has a better chance of taking him down than most mages.

Hand to Hand Combatant: Shiro spent his years under Samarra learning not only the skills necessary to fulfill the duties as guild master but also those to fulfill his duties as a mage. Studying the art of Ki no Michi, the hard work and discipline needed to learn the martial art helping Shiro grow as a person both in his physical abilities and his philosophical ones.

  • Ki no Michi (木の道, Ki no Michi lit. "The Way of the Tree") is a martial art created by the Mystan monks as a way to integrate their martial arts into their philosophy, the martial art being the perfect embodiment of their "Live like that of a tree" ideology. It is a face paced and flexible fighting style that focuses on neutralizing attacks and using momentum along with instinct in order to swiftly move out of the way of attacks. The offensive side of this martial art focusing on joint manipulation along with a variety of throws. Mages who utilize this martial art are known to be of both fast body and mind, reading opponents and reacting in kind with perfect timing as the martial art focuses greatly on defensive abilities and countering opponents attacks, often turning their opponents attacks against themselves. Users of this martial art are often known to have great flexibility as well as a mesomorphic body type. Shiro learned this martial art directly from his master herself, working hard to nearly master the physical side of the fighting style in only five years and continuing to study its philosophical side.
  • God Cedar Cranial Descent (神杉頭蓋降下, Kamisugi Tōgai Kōka): Working best as in immediate counter move to follow an opponent's momentum, however, this move does require a great deal of strength to aid in the execution. As an opponent comes in for an attack, the mage will target the leading foot and scoop one the opponent's thighs with their free hand. Using the opponents momentum to aid in their ascension, the mage will lift their opponent upside down so that their head is the closest point of contact to the earth. The mage will then proceed to drop to their side or back, driving the opponent into the earth on their neck and shoulders, or on the top of their head. If executed properly this move will follow one fluid motion and can leave the opponent with severe dizziness, a concussion, cracked cranium, paralysis, or even death if the opponent happens to land in such a way.
  • Great Banyan Dance (大きなガジュマルの踊り, Ōkina Gajumaru no Dansu): Beginning with an anti-ethernano pulse from a low rise kick to the opponent's sternum, a mage is effectively knocked up into the air. Afterward, the practitioner's moves will differ based on the opening they see. They will typically swivel gracefully to land a kick to the left side of their opponent. This will shift the opponents center of gravity on their fall to cause them fall on their side. On the opponents decent, a backhand strike to the face will shift the opponent's body to be parallel with the ground. It finishes with an anti-ethernano infused punch to the gut upon the opponents impact with the ground. This final blow has been seen to break ribs, and never fails to knock the wind straight out of their lungs. Mages have been seen infusing their own curse into the hits to make this dance much more lethal and powerful.
  • Jaya Sri Maha Kick (ジャヤスリマハキック, Jayasurimahakikku): Once the practitioner is able to see an opening, they focus a great deal of anti-ethernano into their leg for power, while also maintaining their center of balance and delivers a kick at the opponent's weak spot. The only major weakness of this technique is that the user has to focus a great deal of anti-ethernano into their legs, forcing them to lower the power given to their arms; this can be covered by an X guarded stance, or use the free leg to block as well. With the swiftness and power concentrated into the leg, this is easily breaking bones if an opponent holds no defensive protection. This is also a versatile skill that can be used to launch a practitioner into the air with a vertical distance of 45 feet.
  • Jōmon Sugi Thrust (縄文杉の推力, Jōmon Sugi no Suiryoku): This technique begins with an open palm uppercut to the opponent's chin at close range. Once the hand is placed against the opponent's chin, the free hand is then used to strike the connected elbow. The force created from both hands is now behind a single point that's in contact with the opponent's chin. Since the hand is already in contact with the opponent's chin, they won't be able to evade the second hit. This is a skillful move to evade a grasp, as your opponent is within range and would not be able to stand the backward force to their spinal column without releasing their hold.
  • Chankiri Revenge (チャンキリ復讐, Chankiri Fukushū): With one arm cocked back, and the other extended forward, the practitioner throws a punch from the drawn arrow stance. The mage delivers a swift punch forward to the chest, using a pulse of anti-ethernano to knock the wind out of the chest. A swift turn of the hips will send the other hand to dig into the heart with wrist bent and elbow facing downward. The end result can lead to cardiac arrest from blunt trauma to the heart. This move does take a great skill of precision to deliver the second blow through the spacing of the ribs.So a mage must practice on a multitude of targets before delivering such a fatal blow.
  • Kannimara Chord Cut (カニマラコードカット, Kanimara Kōdokatto): while in a fighting stance, the lead fist is thrown straight ahead and the arm is fully extended. With fingers extended outward, the user covers their hand in a coat of anti-ethernano; at the moment of impact, the pronated hand is generally held in a horizontal orientation with the palm facing the ground. The power of this attack comes from its ability to cut the vessels of its opponent when executed with enough force. Using two fingers can cut off blood flow until the pressure is released, three can cause severe bruising, four fingers can cut superficial nerves and vessels, and 5 finger can damage muscle fibers.
  • Tembusu Mania Blitz (テンブスブリッツマニア, Tenbusu Burittsumania): This strike follows a downward push of the target's own strike by applying fierce pressure to the joint's of the target's striking limb and causing it to lose its consecutive momentum. Afterward, the fighter had to stiff his body to its utmost limits on the moment of impact. When the practitioner uses it at the right moment in a strike, all of his joints will be fixed. Although difficult, if done correctly, they will strike with the weight of their whole body. When the strike is covered in anti-ethernano and comes in contact with the water that makes up the human body, it sends a shock wave through the body that can temporarily paralyze the ta

Curse Granted Abilities[]

Curse Prowess:

  • Hex Aura (呪法威勢, Jūhō Isei): A hex aura is the exertion of curse energy around the user's body. Encapsulating the user in an aura of a color befitting their personality. Colors and potency of hex auras are various. This aura is normally accompanied by a pressure of sorts, the strength of this pressure depends on the level of magical aura the user wields. Depending on the level of one's hex aura as well as their control over it, it may also be used as an intimidation tactic or even as a way to negate weak attacks. hex aura comes in three different forms, a lesser demon aura which is exhibited by those of weak or average curse power. These auras are often weak, only being able to intimidate non-mages. The second of these auras is a demon aura which is exhibited by those whose level of curse power is equal to or greater than that of a demon. This aura emits and overwhelming pressure that most anyone might find intimidating. The final and most powerful form of aura is the Archdemon aura which is only exhibited by those whose level of curse power is equal to or exceeds that of an Archdemon. These auras encompass a large area around the user, releasing an incredible amount of pressure. This pressure may even completely immobilize some opponents. The user is replaced by a phantom-like apparition as they are completely enveloped in their respective color. Shiro has an archdemon aura, an aura utilized by Archdemons and those above them in terms of curse power. This aura is a result of inheriting his mother's incredible strength and power. Shiro's aura is white in color.
Kitsune Demon Form BD1

Shiro's full demon transformation

Demonic Transformation: As a half demon Shiro possesses the ability to undergo demonic transformation. In his younger years he found this ability impossible to achieve without the use of a Kitsune mask gifted to him by his mother the day he decided to leave and journey the world in search of answers about humans and their culture. However, as he grew in age and strength he began to be able to enter this form through the use of his own curse power. As a Kitsune Shiro's demonic form takes on one more animalistic than those of other well-known demons. He takes the form of a large fox, thick white fur glowing like the moon waving in the wind. Standing at about seven feet tall when on all fours with ten long flowing tails that trail behind him when he runs. His eyes remain their same gold color as they lead down to a long snout with a black nose at the end along with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. When in this form Shiro can unlock is full demonic power, having access to all of his curses and using them to their full potential. His fur is resistant to many, if not all, forms of magic and their only known weakness is that of Devil Slayer Magic which can bypass the magical immunity granted to him by his demon fur. His physical prowess is also increased, his muscles reaching a strength and endurance far beyond what his human form would allow which gives him further enhanced abilities. His partial demonic transformation allows him to sprout his ten tails whose fur can he hardened to equal strength to that of steel, allowing him to use them like long, malleable swords to block attacks and impale enemies.

Heat Production: The first and most basic ability of Shiro's burning curse allows him to create heat. Shiro will do this by focusing his magical energy onto an object, causing vibration within the object's particles which in turn generates the friction required to make heat. The user can control the temperature of the heat produced, creating a soothing warmth of even catching things on fire. Once the user has reached a certain level of skill within the practice of this curse they may use it at range, heating the air to cause explosions and sudden fires without a twenty-meter radius of them. The actual act of heating the air is described as nearly instantaneous.

Heat Sensory: As a user of the burning curse, Shiro has the ability to sense heat at a higher level than most other non-fire wielding mages. When heat is present in an area Shiro possesses the ability to see that heat as color, the hotter the heat source the deeper the color similar to thermal imagining used in some forms of magical tech. This ability allows Shiro to see anything that gives off heat even in the darkest of places, giving him an ever bigger edge in tracking and stalking.

Heat Resistance: Due to the nature of his burning curse Shiro possesses an innate resistance to fire and other sources of heat. Only being scalded or burned by incredibly high temperatures as his body has become used to the heat produced by his own curse and adapted as a result of that to lessen the likelihood of injury while using his curse's ability to burn objects to ash. This heat resistance is also what allows him to generate heat without worry, his body temperature being able to rise to over two hundred degrees for short periods of time without worried often allowing him to induce fevers upon himself to help fight illness.

Electromagnetism: The ability to manipulate magnetism via the manipulation of electrical currents and fields. This allows Shiro to manipulate and control metallic objects, having some of the greatest control over objects containing iron. This ability allows Shiro to create magnetic fields by running electricity created through the usage of his voltage curse through metal objects, creating magnets to attract and repel objects at will. This allows him to defy gravity by walking on walls or controlling metallic particles within other objects.

Static Detection: An ability taught to him by Samarra and granted to him thanks to his voltage curse, Shiro has the ability to sense electrical currents in the air around him, allowing him to process them like some kind of sixth sense. This allows him to trace how electricity flows through objects, finding spots where wires are burned out or broken or even sensing the electrical activity occurring within the bodies of living organisms which makes them easier to track, especially when moving as electrical currents are sent up through the nerves to the brain, Shiro being able to quickly process the nature and path of these electrical currents and predict the movements of his opponents down to the near milliseconds before they even begin to move, making him a tough enemy in hand to hand combat as he can often tell what the enemy will do the moment their muscles twitch to make the movement.

Electical Resistance: Very similar to the heat resistance gained by fire magic users, Shiro has gained a resistance to electric shock as a result of his voltage curse. Magic and curses having the ability to change to users body permanently which can be seen in cases such as this as Shiro has the ability to not only absorb electricity but also discharge or redirect it, causing little to no harm to himself. The electricity mapping a path through his body past vital organs such as the heart to safely travel through him and to the ground or act as fuel through the usage of attacks in which he forcibly ejects the electricity from his body and into the air surrounding him.

Healing Saliva: A trait found in many animals from dogs to cats and even primates such as humans is the instinctual licking of wounds. In normal animals, this is due to enzymes found in spit that may help kill bacteria to defend against infections. However, Shiro's demonic fox body grants him an interesting ability, that being the ability to heal minor cuts and scrapes through licking or coating the wound in his spit which, like that of many animals, contains thromboplastin which promotes the clotting of blood. His' goes one step further though as it begins seems to catalyze the healing process. Cuts that might normally take hours to heal doing so in a matter of minutes thanks to the ability granted to him via his demonic physiology.

Curses & Spells[]

Burning Curse[]

Burn Curse

Burning Curse (火炙り, Hiaburi Jūhō): Not to be confused with magic, a skill known by and utilized by a select few humans skilled enough to harness the power of ethernano to create and perform an array of incredible and sometimes beautiful works. Curses cannot be used by humans, their usage being limited to that of demons and often being described as being far more powerful than magic, such being shown several times during which Mard Geer and the Demons of Tartaros devastated the magic wielding mages of Fairy tail. Once again, unlike its counterpart, magic, Curses are not learned but instead, each and every demon is born with their own powerful and often unique curse that is theirs and often theirs alone aside from cases in which offspring inherit the curses of one or both of their parents. As the biology of demons is different from that of humans, in chemical processes and sometimes even physical appearance, their magic origin is far different from that of a human or many of the other races found on Earth Land, often being referred to a corrupted origin due to the fact that it takes in and refines Magic Barrier particles rather than the ethernano used to produce magic.

Burning Curse Overview

This particular curse transforms the magic barrier particles to take the form of a powerful and deadly blue flame that can burn at temperatures hot enough to reduce the human body to ashes within only a few seconds, an ability almost impossible to find occurring in that of natural fires created without the use of ethernano or magic barrier particles. Even among high-ranking fire magic users, normally only wielding a single highly advanced spell capable of producing such heat at the cost of a high sum of magical power but such a feat easily being achievable through the proper utilization of this curse. As stated before, users lack the ability to manipulate natural or ethernano based flames as their flames contain a high concentration of magic barrier particles, while once believed to be a shortcoming and flaw of the curse, the fact that the high concentration makes it all but impossible for fire based slayers to devour these flames aside from Devil slayers is a pro that many are willing to say outweighs the cons presented with the inability to manipulate natural flames. As the curse was passed down from his Kitsune mother, activating and using this curse often results in the appearance of demonic features on Shiro's body such as his eyes narrowing to appear more similar to that of a fox or the most noticeable change being the nine flaming fox tails that extend from his lower back, flowing freely and radiating a blue light and crackling noise from the flames that come in contact with anything around him.

Blue Flame Creation BD1

Much like Fire-make magic, users of Burning curse possess the ability to mold their flame, blessing them with different attributes such as giving them a solid and blunt quality that allows them to bludgeon opponents or a cutting quality when molding the fire into bladed weapons such as swords. Dynamic creations are also possible, creating moving objects such as flaming wolves or clones of oneself that may explode on contact with the target. Dynamic creations a bit trickier than their static counterparts, users having to give the mobile creation an order during the molding process. This order will the creation's sole purpose for existing that it will stop at nothing to achieve as it is their entire reason for existing. Commands and tasks can be complicated or very simple, so long as you can picture what it is you wish to do in your head the creation will understand and follow the order to the best of its ability. Like fire magic users, the training associated with the usage of this curse leads to a slight change in the user's body which results in them becoming resistant to burning both by their own flames and the flames of others.

  • Fox Howl: A basic breath attack, the first taught to Shiro by his mother during the developing stages of his curse powers as they manifested within in. This spell allows Shiro to breathe a large sum of fire from his mouth whose flames are capable of causing burns to those caught within them. Shiro begins the casting of this spell by taking in a deep breath, a blue light being emitted from his mouth as the flames from deep within his stomach. Letting out an exhale, the flames will be shot discharged from the mouth, often in the form of a single horizontal column of flame that is known to reach a distance of one hundred feet. The heat from this column can be felt at one hundred and twenty feet with the intensity being enough to burn off eyebrows and other hair on the body at approximately one hundred and ten feet. However, this column is not the only way this spell can be utilized as Shiro may also shoot out balls of flame. These balls are equal to a bowling ball in size and carry the same heat as it's column cousin. Being shot from the mouth in an arch they have a longer range than the single flame column and reach can reach objects in a one hundred and fifty foot radius. The balls will hit the ground and immediately cover a small ten foot radius around them in blue flames. If nothing lies within this range the flames will immediately burn out but if a flammable target is found the flames will consume it and turn it to ash in just under eight seconds.
  • Kitsune Slash: A spell created by Shiro that applies some fundamental and intermediate skills used by fire users both demons and mages alike. Shiro focuses his curse power in the tips of his fingers on one or both hands before igniting them into bright blue flames that coat the tips of his fingers entirely which often looks like small, flaming claws. This is the point in the casting in which Shiro is given the choice of making it a close or mid ranged attack. If he chooses the former, Shiro will get within striking distance of his opponent before slashing at them with whatever hands or hand is coated with the blue flame. The strike will cut through clothing and light armors rather easily, slicing into and burning the flesh it comes in contact with so bleeding out from the strike is incredibly unlikely but this often means little as the heat and blade-like sharpness of the flame claws easily cuts deep enough to inflict fatal and damaging wounds to those in which he is able to get a clean hit on. The more intermediate side of this attack involves turning what was originally a close-range strike into a mid ranged attack. Going about the same steps as listed above, he will strike from a distance rather than getting up close. The flames will be shot from his hand in a sickle shape, one for each finger the flames surround and fly toward the enemy at a speed of just about 90 mph. These blades move at a speed far greater than that of the average human punch and thus their cutting power is far greater. Often possessing the ability to slice through some forms of armor and completely cut unarmored foes in two.

Voltage Curse[]

Voltage Curse BD1

Voltage Curse (高電位 呪法, koudeni Jūhō): Not to be confused with magic, a skill known by and utilized by a select few humans skilled enough to harness the power of ethernano to create and perform an array of incredible and sometimes beautiful works. This specific curse is not known to be strictly passed down through bloodlines but is instead a unique curse that manifested in Shiro due to his long-lost ancestry to the Ōkami Foxes known to serve the Inari Family.

Voltage Curse overview two

This particular curse allows the magic barrier particles controlled by the user to take the form of a strong electric current similar to that of natural lightning. Producing an electrical current of five billion joules with a single bolt of lightning. However, the voltage can be raised or lowered depending largely on the desired effect of the lightning attack which can stun and paralyze victims, possibly causing permanent nerve damage in those struck by attacks from these bolts.

Electromagnetism Voltage Curse

Using Electromagnetism to control Iron particles

Users lack the ability to manipulate natural or ethernano based electricity as their bolts contain a high concentration of magic barrier particles, while once believed to be a shortcoming and flaw of the curse, the fact that the high concentration makes it all but impossible for lightning based slayers to devour these bolts aside from Devil slayers is a pro that many are willing to say outweighs the cons presented with the inability to manipulate natural currents of electricity. An ability known to those who have advanced in the art of this curse is that of electromagnetism which allows Shiro to use his electrical manipulation to create and control magnetic fields and defy the laws of gravity to move metal objects as well as stand on metal walls by channeling electricity into their hands or feet. Electronic devices are also in great danger when in close proximity to Shiro who can produce a short range electromagnetic pulse which allows him to fry technology within a twenty to thirty-foot radius of himself. Users of this form of curse often have the advantage over water and metal-based magic as they are good conductors of electrical currents. Shiro also games an innate speed and reflex boost as a result of using this curse, electrical signals being sent throughout his body allowing his nerve endings to act to their full potential.

Voltage Creation BD1

Shiro possesses the ability to mold his lightning into different shapes and forms which allow him to create objects such as swords, shields, and armors he can utilize in battle. These objects can take on a solid form despite their being made from a plasma-like material. The heat produced by these creations often having little effect on the user but with lightning reaching up to 53,540 degrees Fahrenheit at times allows it to burn through most objects. However, due to the advanced nature of such temperatures, it is rare for lightning attacks or creations used or made to reach these temperatures outside of highly advanced spells and techniques. Dynamic creations are also possible, the user gifting a creation with a singular purpose upon its creation in which it will follow without question as it is its only reason for existing in this world.

  • Lightning Cannon: A basic spell of Shiro's voltage curse in which was helped to be perfected by his master, Samarra Inari. This spell allows for Shiro fire a powerful bolt of lightning toward his opponents. Shiro begins casting this spell by gathering static electricity into the palms of his hand, placing the two palms only a few inches apart at which point several sparks with shoot between them. In only a matter of moments, there will be enough electricity gathered that a blue ball is formed about the size of a softball. Sparks will shoot out from this ball, possible striking those within a two-foot radius of him. He will then thrust his palms outward toward his target, releasing the full might of the condensed electricity he was building between his hands to fire out in the form of a large lightning bolt. A loud sparking sound will be heard as the cannon fires to move at a speed of 1100 ft/s (1 mile per five seconds). The diameter of this bolt is just over five feet with a range of just two hundred feet, this spell is difficult to dodge at close range and quickly clears distances to hit targets from farther away. The voltage of this lightning bolt is enough to knock the average person off their feet, causing temporary paralysis for upwards of ten minutes depending on the location in which the target was struck. Stone targets and other stationary materials such as wood often explode upon contact, sending shrapnel everywhere and often catching flammable material on fire due to the heat of the blast.
  • Lightning Scalpel: An intermediate spell of Shiro's voltage curse, it involves Shiro focusing a large amount of his curse power into his right hand, electricity gathering and coating the hand in a cloak of powerful, pulsing lightning from which several small bolts can be seen striking out of to lick the air around him. The amount of condensed electricity in the palm of Shiro's hand is often enough to make it shake as the concentration required to keep it in that form is great and would often be too much for a weaker or beginner level user. However, Shiro is not done as he must condense it further in order for the lightning to take on an edge. The edge focuses itself at two points, at the tip of the middle finger and at the side of the palm, being finer and equally sharp to a razor's edge without having to worry about being fragile which allows it to cut through much stronger objects. As one may guess, the spell is made for close combat, being used similarly to either a jab or a karate chop. The chop being better for cutting objects, splitting them in two, while the jab is better for penetration, easily ripping straight through the chest of an enemy and out of their back. Once the jab has buried itself into an object, Shiro can discharge the electricity to send all of it through the users body to cause further damage and finish the job if the jab didn't do so already.
  • Bolt Charge:
  • Lightning Body: Very similar to the lightning magic spell of the same name, Shiro's lightning body allows him to take on the form of the element of electricity. Within this form, Shiro has no physical body, his physical form taking on the that of lightning which means that he cannot physical touch others to deliver something along the lines of a punch or a kick, however, contact with his body does result in immediate electrocution to the one foolish enough to attempt to grab him in this state. However, the loss of physical form to avoid hits is not the reason why users resort to this form though that may be the case but instead the near unrivaled speed in which it grants the user. Users of this spell being able to move at speeds of nearly 1/3 the speed of light itself. However, the spell is taxing as maintaining a non-physical form uses up a great amount of energy both physical and magical. Users can do this in bursts, heavily taxing their magical energy to achieve what is sometimes referred to as a three round burst but gained popularity through the name "Raijin Technique" which allows the user to enter and exit their lightning form exactly three times before a five minute cool down is enforced upon them. For some the sacrifice is worth the risk as it allows them to quickly deal decisive and deadly strikes to opponents to quickly end dangerous battles.

Void Curse[]

Void Curse BD1

Void Curse (空空 呪法, kuukuu Jūhō): Curses are not to be confused with magic, a skill known by and utilized by a select few humans skilled enough to harness the power of ethernano to create and perform an array of incredible and sometimes beautiful works. Curses are often far more foul in nature from their magical counterparts, these abilities being driven and fueled by demonic forces and dark desires. Like magic, the influence of emotion can greatly impact the strength and potency of curses. Darker and more sinister emotions often eliciting the full and true power of curses as those forces are the original driving nature of demons.

Void Surfing BD1

This particular curse allows Shiro to control and manipulate darkness and shadow in a form known as the void. The void exists as a separate space similar to spaces such as those created via the usage of other spatial magic such as requip. Shiro possesses the ability to store objects within this dimension, pulling them out and placing other objects inside however he pleases but the true power of the void is that it allows him to summon darkness and shadows from within it, pulling them from the separate space and utilizing them in battle. These shadows are not created, simply pulled from the void and manipulated, this darkness being a substance through which the void manifests, allowing darkness that touches enemies to pull them into the void. Living beings trapped in the void being faced with neigh-emptiness and total darkness as no light can enter the void, darkness absorbing it completely. Opening the void can cause black hole-like effect in which objects and be sucked inside but by no means it as powerful as a blackhole created by gravity based magic and curses.

Void Walkers BD1

Void Walkers

Unlike his other curses, Shiro cannot mold darkness like that of molding magic. He possesses not the manipulative ability over the darkness of the void to shape it into anything but rather he has control over the creatures living with the void. Void walkers are creatures of darkness, created from the darkest emotions created by man, given physical form in the shape of these void walkers who all take on a shade-like appearance. Void walkers come in all shapes and sizes, having a heavy weakness to bright light and overly positive emotions which makes them vulnerable not only to light wielders but those who possess strongly positive outlooks on life. The larger the shade the lesser these weaknesses are but still they remain weaknesses nonetheless. This Curse can only manifest in Shiro when he gives into anger and takes on his demonic form as well as fully embraces his demonic nature. Bottled up hate and sadness being the fuel to activate this curse which engulfs Shiro in a blanket of darkness, changing his appearance entirely to resemble one of the void walkers.

  • Shiro Black Aura
Black Aura: The black aura is an involuntary spell that takes over whenever Shiro uses this curse while in his human form. The black aura is a physical manifestation of all his bottled up negative emotions, the more of these emotions he has flowing through him the thicker and darker this aura becomes. Having an often intimidating appearance, it consumes the user entirely within the black mess, consuming them in their own negativity. This spell starts once Shiro activates his voice curse, the darkness beginning to ooze from his pores like sweat as it wraps itself around his body like a suit of armor. Often starting with the hands, the black ooze transforms them into a claw-like appendage, the same going with his feet as his shoes fill with the black aura before spilling out and continuing to grow. Once the aura coats his body, Shiro will feel all of those bottled up emotions released within him, his demonic appearance being the physical embodiment of all his malice toward the world and those within it. His true demonic nature being released and harnessed to give him the strength to kill without hesitation. The Aura also acts like an armor, just as the bottling of his emotions was a defense mechanism those feelings are now his shield to protect him from anymore pain that may come his way.

  • Black Shield:
  • Dark Tendril:
  • Void Speak: Void speak is the language of the void, a language known only by Shiro and the void walkers themselves. The language of the void walkers is not something that can be understood by human ears, the words sounding like moans and gasps of pain to those within earshot. However, those of the void understand it well and it is this language that gives Shiro power over the void walkers, calling upon them to do his bidding like willing servants.
