  • Alright, the judges and I have finally come to a conclusion on who's in.

    They are, as listed,

Congratulations to everyone who won! To everyone who lost, you're a sticky doo-doo head better luck next time!

Anyway, the battles are; Indra vs. Phobos, Silvius vs. Hayashi, Vance vs. Prometheus, and Carwen vs. Theia!

All of the matches will take place underground- as people progress, we'll reach the fresh open air to fight our Dragon Slayer King.

Now everyone, you've got two weeks to finish working on your characters before we begin. As if it needs saying, people who didn't get in can resume working as normal lol

I'll announce when we're ready to begin; also another reason why I'm taking two weeks to do it is because there's going to be an opening chapter that I'll be writing.

Anyway, thoughts? Questions? Leave them below.

    • Good luck y'all. I didn't even send a character (because my only dragon slayers so far are evil and would not pass the personality/reason test.) Can't wait to see all these epic brawls!

        Loading editor
    • O.O I'm in? Holy Crap Baskets I'M IN! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! :D'

        Loading editor
    • So, do we still get the points that need working on our slayers or not?

        Loading editor
    • Good luck guys, congratulations to the ones who are in :D

      May Midgar guide you~

        Loading editor
    • Just finish your characters to the best of your abilities, people.

        Loading editor
    • Also we'll probably hand out points for what you failed to pass at a later date, like in a week or so.

        Loading editor
    • Alrighty, let's see who's slayer's got in. *reads through list* Hold on! *Double and triple checks the name* I got in? I GOT IN!

        Loading editor
    • have fun guys

        Loading editor
    • I did the same thing! I feel like I had a total "anime girl celebration" moment as I joyfully raised my fist in the air at the sight of Theia's name on there hahaha. I look forward to my match too, it'll be a test to see which light mage really shines :P

      Those puns though...

    • Good, I don't have to work on Sahara anymore :)

Also, good luck to everyone entering. Hope y'all have fun.

    • I'm upset that I didn't get in, but congrajulations to everyone else that did.  I would personally like a review on my page though so I know what I did wrong.

        Loading editor
    • Woohoo!!!!

        Loading editor
    • lol i like what u put for the losers real mature Per XD

        Loading editor
    • Have fun all

    • WHAATTT!? HB didn't get in?

    • Woops, I meant Alpha x3

        Loading editor
    • Congrats -w-

Wait, I just reread the description. Nevermind >.<

        Loading editor
    • I just wish I could've gotten the chance to fight Vincent.

        Loading editor
    • Vincent? You mean Vance, right?

        Loading editor
    • No, I mean Vincent Albion.  Ya know, the current Dragon Slayer King?

        Loading editor
    • Ah, nevermind. There's still other chances. Juts ask Per after the tourny is over.

        Loading editor
    • If I'm not mistaken, she only rps with Aha.

        Loading editor
    • It won't to ask just in case; she's mainly busy, but it seems that she's more open to others for the idea.

        Loading editor
    • Would it be possible to recieve a review of my character Indra Svargaloka? I know that the judges already did their review and probably discussed it among themselves, but I cant help but be curious as to their thoughts and opinions on him.

        Loading editor
    • ANNOUNCEMENT: Since we've noticed that several participants have an excess of powered-up forms, we're going to limit it to five per character- this includes traditional powered-up forms such as Dragon Force and Drive, as well as the more "exotic" ones. A person with Dual Element Dragon Slayer Magic (not the modes like Lightning Flame Dragon Mode) won't count, however. Also, before the matches begin you'll need to choose which forms you use and tell the judges on the forum here. You can't switch your forms chosen in-between matches, either.

Also, since all matches take place in caves, as one may have noticed, any elemental consumption to regenerate health is prohibited until the final match. However, this also extends to any personal healing skills like an in-born healing factor or something; those'll be locked. However, your character can be restored to full health in-between matches.

        Loading editor
    • Question towards the healing bit, what about Phobos' healing spell that is very much pathetic compared to Wendy's, being able of stopping bleeding or lessening the pain of the injury, poison or curses at best? Would that also be prohibited?

        Loading editor
    • And another question, how we will be able to heal ourselves between matches? Would be like "you were beastly damaged in this fight and after it regenerate within two hours" or how? I mean, I can imagine, that Hayashi won't be able to regenerate because of arena's rules and after his match he would heal himself, but in other ways... well, tell me bout it, somebody xD

        Loading editor
    • Regeneration and healing type spells are used in-between matches- that's about it. However, you can use whatever you have at your disposal in the final battle.

        Loading editor
    • Ok, I hope I understand it now~ Anyway, I gonna make it like no regeneration at matches, between them like "ok, let's have some heal". And if I missed something, judges will stop me, so yeah, smth like that.

        Loading editor
    • Ok so let's say I wanted to choose my light slayer magic (plus dual mode), drive, dragon force, mirror magic, ethernano manipulation abilities, and primal dragon mode (I have a feeling I would need it if I make it to the final round, although unlikely I'll get that far); those would all count as choices? Or does ethernano manipulation not count because it is an innate ability of all mages?

        Loading editor
    • Eternano manipulation is something anyone can do. You can only have five Dragon Slayer related modes and powerups.

        Loading editor
    • LOL I'm so lucky I went the straight path of just specializing one kind of Magic. All these questions just remind me how complicated things get if you try to add multiple power-ups or additional magics in general XD

        Loading editor
    • just realized that (in essence) we have 3 light slayers, 3 fire slayers, and 2 ice slayers... for some reason I thought there would have been more variety. Also, this is more than just me taking for the sake of talking, I have a question. Does my photokinesis count as a power up ability for my slayer magic? Or is it just a normal ability for light mages?

        Loading editor
    • Photokinesis is Light Magic, so it's a normal ability.

        Loading editor
    • The only thing that'd make it a Slayer Magic is if they can EAT that element.

        Loading editor
    • Just a reminder, the tourney starts in two days. I'll be putting up a beginning chapter by then. Since I've been procrastinating, I haven't made any damn progress on that, so I'll have to hurry lmao

        Loading editor
    • LOL Awesome -w- so that's when we start our Roleplay Battles?

        Loading editor
    • Yah. Then after a week, we'll judge like I mentioned previously (I think).

        Loading editor
    • Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

In all seriousness, I'm psyched to read these! Good luck to everyone!

        Loading editor
    • will you make an announcement of when we can start our battles.(timezone difference and all)

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, I'll announce it at midnight Australia time in two days, meaning that the moment the 14th begins y'all can start.

        Loading editor
    • So the battles start this week but they have a timetable of ending next week?

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, we decided it'd be that way so we can get things done on schedule instead of stalling forever until everyone loses interest like what happened in many, many site-wide events.

        Loading editor
    • Oh I know the feeling. Okay, just wanted to know how this works -w- so do I decide with Kira how this starts?

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, everyone should sort it out between themselves and their partners. My introductory chapter won't really hamper posting speed or what people can do or stuff like that.

        Loading editor
    • ALRIGHT GUYS WE CAN START NOW, GO TALK TO YOUR PARTNER AND WE'LL MONITOR THE FIGHTS. AFTER A WEEK WE'LL GIVE RESULTS.

        Loading editor
    • Can't wait to read your intro chapter! Here is the link to Theia vs Carwen: Shining Sun and Dazzling God: Friend or Foe?

        Loading editor
    • Two week waiting period, but only one week for the actual battles? :O

Lol also, would you still like for us to list out our "power-ups" here before we begin our role-plays?

        Loading editor
    • Yeah ya'll should list yer power-ups so we know what's going on. Also the amount of time people will get to RP will increase by a week for each round done- but really I was busy with personal stuff, hence the wait.

        Loading editor
    • Okay, fair enough, I suppose.

      Anyway, Silvius Alvar's power-ups include:

      • Sky Dragon Slayer Magic (Vernier, Arms, etc.)
      • Drive
      • Dragon Force
      • Dragonborn

Also, where underground are these battles taking place, and how might our characters have gotten there? Anything specific we need to incorporate into the setting? (For example, Holo and Lady's match describes the underground as being a cold, dark place).

        Loading editor
    • Fair nuff, breddy gud. Anyway, as long as you can't eat your element, describe it how you like.

        Loading editor
    • Vance's power-up's include

      • Dragon Force
      • Drive
      • Draconic Sovereign
      • Sigurðr

And his secondary magic is Explosion Magic. And basic usage of Requip.

Also like Dazz asked how did our characters get to the underground arena's, and when are we going to see your into chapter for the DSR, just wondering?

        Loading editor
    • Theia will use

      • Light Slayer Magic (Luminous Alloy Dual Mode)
      • Dragon Force
      • Drive
      • Mirror Magic (secondary magic)
      • We will throw in Primal Dragon Mode just cause thats the only other power up i have. Most of mine come from ethernano manipulation (Physiological Meliorism)
        Loading editor
    • Indra Svargaloka will use:

      • Frozen Dragon Slayer Magic
      • Archive Magic (secondary)
      • Requip (Dragon Slave, Nakshatra, and Astradhari)

Technically speaking Indra's Dragon Slave is similar in nature to the Dragongem Booster.

        Loading editor
    •   Loading editor
    • Hm.

        Loading editor
    • Carwen will use:

      • Divine Dragon Slayer Magic
      • Drive
      • Dragon Force
      • Divine Glass Dragon Mode
        Loading editor
    • Guess I should do it too.

      Phobos'll use:

      Illumination Dragon Slayer Magic

      Dim Sun Mode

      Drago Level

      and...That's about it?

Oh Formula as secondary magic. Tho it's meant to be basic so I dunno about that.

        Loading editor
    • So, it's my turn now... Hayashi Aririki's list of Magics:

      • Flame Dragon Slayer Magic (Flames of Emotion are countable as booster or no? Cuz I think they're similar to Vernier and Arms of Sky DSM by means of special quality of the Magic).
      • Upsurge
      • Blaze Mode
      • Lightning Flame Dragon Mode

      The secondary Magic is Requip.

Also, I want to ask about very interesting case... Are we all allowed to mix our power-up states? I mean. can a Dragon Slayer make a use of Drive/Dragon Force and Dual Element Mode at the same time? Or this will be too overpower? Why I ask is to avoid any sticky situations in the RP so...

        Loading editor
    • Flames of Emotion are normal. Also, no mixing for now.

ALSO GUYS DON'T WORRY ABOUT MODIFYING YOUR POSTS FOR MY ENTRY CHAPTER, IT'S FINE

        Loading editor
    • So uh, not trying to rush you or anything, I get that you're busy and all, but I'm still waiting on a review for Aether Cade.  I know I didn't get in, but that's why I want one so badly.

        Loading editor
    • I'll have a look when I get the time.

        Loading editor
    • Same here. I need a review on my Oliver Ore . I need to know what i messed up on.

        Loading editor
    • I've already given you the review Blue. It's on his comment section.

        Loading editor
    • Also, I forgot about this until now, but when I initially advertised the DSR the first round matches had a two week time limit before they'd judged. Do people wanna switch to that or is one week enough?

        Loading editor
    • I'll go with two weeks cause I currently have a limited degree of availability for being online at any one time. Plus with people that are in highly varied time zones makes editing tricky, and I believe that two weeks would greatly help with that. This is my opinion upon the matter at least.

        Loading editor
    • I feel no preference for either time limit. I understand that for the people in different timezones, as well as busy schedules, the two weeks would be prefereable. But for those who post regularly, two weeks is a long time and would result in them having to decide a winner themselves it seems. As two weeks is more then enough time to cycle through a great deal of spells and scenarios in a fight, But it seems the majority of matches right now are moving at a pace to where 2 weeks would be the proper answer to allow them to show their optimal abilities.

        Loading editor
    • So, when will the slayers that didn't get in get their review as well?

        Loading editor
    • When it happens. A bunch of us did different characters before we switched to just voting all at once as Dazz suggested so you'll have to ask around since I can't remember who did what. I personally only looked at like four-five characters since three approvals = accepted before the change of organization happened.

        Loading editor
    • Hey guys, sorry about this all of a sudden, but since Killer and Mang need an extension on their royale by yet another week cuz of schedules, I'll give everyone three weeks starting from now to finish the first rounds. It wouldn't be fair to screw two people over because of time constraints, but it also wouldn't be fair to give two contestants an extension that nobody else has, so everyone's getting it.

      Thoughts?

        Loading editor
    • Three weeks from now is a hell of a long time for mine and holo's fight; considering we are a week in already. So we are either going to have to leave it at a dramatic clash of final blows, or decide for ourselves who the winner of the fight is? I am just unsure of how we are suppose to keep a fight going for a whole month without our characters running out of magic, or us fighting in circles with the same moves over and over. How are we suppose to go about it?

This isn't me saying I disagree with the extention. I fully support it for those who are facing busy schedules and such. It is more a question of how to end the page while others finish up their own fights.

        Loading editor
    • You don't need to do nothing but write the RP. You can stop when you finish and go onto other stuff until the next rounds start, just like any other roleplay. It's no big deal.

        Loading editor
    • Well, why not, after all? Even if somebody will end their round in a week, then they simply can wait and think about new plans how to win the Royale and other similar stuff. Smth like that, so, I don't have a problem with three weeks, but, well, a month will be too much.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, pretty much Copy. I can't extend it more than now since that risks the chance of stalling it forever and people will lose interest and forget like what happened in the previous royales.

        Loading editor
    • Two-weeks is a preferable time-frame to finish an RP. Between work and school and different time zones it can be quite hectic. A week is rushing it, but weeks gives us enough time to actually have a roleplay without trying to rush things.

    • Well, the judges deemed your character good enough for the tournament Mang so i guess those are the reasons you belong in the tournament?

        Loading editor
    • Just to inform you, Per, my role-play with Copy has concluded. Also, out of curiosity, how are you dictating the matchups for the next round of the tournament?

        Loading editor
    • It's a secret to everyone

        Loading editor
    • Holo and I are done with our fight as well.  This round ends on May 1st correct?

        Loading editor
    • Yeah. Then the winners will be announced (if they didn't finish the roleplay)/the ones who actually did win on a next forum post.

        Loading editor
    • Well me and Mang are done. Who won, and what's next?

        Loading editor
    • Patience homeboy, it's 6:40am for them on the due date. They probably will take the day to judge matches, and post when they are done. Then your question will be answered. We just have to wait for now.

        Loading editor
    • Right, so, matches are closed. We will take today and potentially tomorrow depending on our schedules to judge all the matches and will announce them in a separate forum.

        Loading editor
    • You mean Blog, right?

        Loading editor
    • Woops. I meant thread on a forum.

Putting it on a thread allows for easier promotion and so the message gets across much faster than a blog which can easily be missed if comments aren't made.

        Loading editor
    • Also guys, I'd just like to say, thanks for participating and having this phase get along quickly! I hope you all had fun.

        Loading editor
    • ...fun? Yeah, I tried. Can't say it was THAT at the end but it was something.

        Loading editor
    • Well I for one had a lot of fun with my fight! Thank you to the judges for taking the time to read over everything and letting us participate, I'm sure we all appreciate it.

        Loading editor
    • Any word on if the judging has been completed?

        Loading editor
    • I'm kind of curious about that as well. Things may have gotten in the way (As they every so often do), but i thought that the idea was that the judgements were to be delivered somewhere between  one to two days?

        Loading editor
    • Honestly, I could care less when it happens, just that it does eventually. I don't expect myself to be a victor after THAT fiasco of a Roleplay

        Loading editor
    • We're deciding what to do with the final match of this round since it was the only one that didn't really indicate a winner or loser.

        Loading editor
    • Alright folks, we've decided on the victors of round one. Before I list 'em off, I'd like to say thanks to all the competetors who've taken part this year. I do hope everyone had fun.

Anyway, time for what you've all been waiting for: the winners are as follows

      Dazz, Highest, Mang, Koma

Congrats to the four of you, and best of luck in Round 2.

        Loading editor
    • O.O Huh...I didn't foresee that outcome XD

        Loading editor
    • Cool. Any word on the matchups between the final four?

        Loading editor
    • I didn't move on? CURSE YOU, PERRY THE PLATYPUS!

        Loading editor
    • Hm, quite good winners, also pretty amazing outcome from HB vs. Void match. Gongrats to you, guys.

P.S. - Holo, don't worry, try next time and may you get the throne :P

        Loading editor
    • Wait… I moved on??? How??? Me and Void were sinking in Dark Souls III and couldn't get shit done. Well… we were DYING is more accurate but you get what I mean!

        Loading editor
    • I'm gonna be honest, I personally feel like the judgment for Highest vs. Void wasn't too fair since we didn't really get much of an indicator of who coulda won in the actual fight. But it'll be playing into the very next round, as will one other fighter who lost if they feel like it. Just tell me yeah or nah.

Everything will be announced tomorrow- but matches won't officially start until the start of next week since Mother's Day and all that in case ya'll be busy.
