Valkyrjur Ríki (バオカイルジャールキ, Baokairujaa Ruki) is a relatively small coastal kingdom lying within the Volklands region of Guiltina. A matriarchal and matrilineal society, it said to have been founded by Valkyries who came down to Midgard in search of a place to call home. Despite having neighbors which easily supersede it in size, the strength and inventiveness of its navy have earned the nation respect among its counterparts (and in some corners of the continent, fear). A diarchy, they have a ruler known as Herja (ハエルジャ, Haeruja; lit. "Devastate"), who doubles as the fleet admiral of their navy, and a second known as Vorðr (, ; lit. "Warden") who also functions as the head of the army.

Religion

As with most Volk nations and people, they adhere to Volk polytheism, recognizing a multitude of deities in a larger cosmology. However, Valkyrja worship is generally confined to a triad. Sitting at the head of this triad is Odin, due to the strong connection between Odin and Valkyries. It's the main reason for their colloquial demonym of Óðinsmey (インスミー, Insumii; lit. "Odin's Maiden") or Óðinsmagu (インスマグ, Insumagu; lit."Odin's Young Man"). Unlike other Volk, they correctly depict Odin as a woman, albeit unknowingly. Second in the triad is Frigg who derives importance not only for their marriage to Odin, but as the god of wisdom and foresight, seen as one of good council and governance. Hence, they're leaned upon for critical decisions and other important matters. Third among the triad is Freyja, who is regarded as indispensable for the variety of functions and domains she possesses. Her war and fertility aspects are especially emphasized by devotees. In addition to the triad, there's also strong ancestor worship, especially of the valkyrie which many inhabitants claim descent from. Less well known is a strong, yet underground cult dedicated to the god Loki. Despite the elusiveness of the group, some suspect her worship base is even larger than the triad.
