"Uh-huh. A magic that allows you to transform into a beast you've "appropriated". Does that mean you're great in the bedroom? From what I've heard, people like that tend to get laid very often."
Angel's attempt at humor upon hearing the mechanics of Percival's Take Over.

Wild Creature Turmoil (野蛮獣大混乱, Yabanjū Daikonran) is one of the more common forms of Take Over seen in the modern era, having quite a few users — most of whom come from areas populated with dangerous creatures; typically, like other variants — it's counted as a form of Caster Magic and an advanced form of Transformation. It's alternatively called Take Over: Bestial Soul (接収・強烈荒野の未開動物(テイク・オーバー・ビースチール・ソウル), Teiku Ōbā: Bīsuchīru Sōru; lit. "Confiscation: Savage Animals of the Harsh Wilderness") for the sake of naming convenience — something that many find rather fitting when analyzed with great depth and the creatures associated with it: beasts, specifically — all animal-based organisms containing great amounts of power and a naturally aggressive personage.

Unlike its brethren, this variant is noted to be very difficult to control — something lies in the personality traits that the magic imposes on its users, causing them to go into a "Primal State" of sorts, which alluded to its namesake. This makes it very dangerous in comparison with others, as the user tends to forego all sense of reason in exchange for being granted overwhelming amounts of power and skill. This led it to be dubbed as the "Berserker Take Over" (原生接収方・破壊衝(バーサーカー・テイク・オーバー), Bāsākā Teiku Ōbā; lit. "Primitive Confiscation Method: Destructive Impulse").

There have a few exceptions, however, but even in such cases — said users have some kind of genetic code that allows them to resist its effects by great margins and allowing them to subsequentially master the Take Over with no problem. In fact, one of the reason that Percival Yvanes — the form's most powerful and youngest user to-date, is part of the upper echelon of the Magic Council is partially attributed to such a trait. It's ranked as an "Intermediate Take Over" (接収の実質的方式(インターメディェイト・テイク・オーバー), Intāmedieito Teiku Ōbā; lit. "Substantial Method of Confiscation").

Trivia[]

  • This is basically the author's personal interpretation of Beast Soul from canon, having a few twists here and there that makes it completely different. He states that Beast Soul was "too limited and vague" in his opinion.
  • This is one of the few Take Over forms that has another magic associated with it; in this case, it's Law of the Jungle.
  • This Take Over covers a wider variety of creatures than its canonical counterpart, including those that can be considered "beasts" under special conditions.
